Doon University The University It was published in the Uttarakhand Gazette on April 26, 2005. It also aims to provide lead in frontier areas of research and methods of pedagogy.

The idea of Doon University draws its elements from huge deficit that the state of Uttarakhand has been experiencing in the area of excellence in higher education. The Doon University Bill, 2005 (Uttaranchal Adhiniyam Sankhaya 18 of 2005) was passed by the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly and assented to by the Governor on April 23, 2005. On 9th May 2009 its statutes were approved and the Universi

ty going to start its first academic session on 6th August 2009. The spirit of the Act is to create an autonomous and accountable institution of higher learning. Accordingly the University intends to impart socially and economically relevant education. Indeed the mandate is huge and challenging.

International Council for Circular Economy and the Center of Excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (CoE-LSCM) at Doon University, Dehradun have launched Webinar series on theme "Circular Economy: Transforming India Infrastructure under PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan" have united their expertise to present a webinar series titled. The inaugural event of this captivating series, held on August 18, 2023 marks a significant step forward toward developing a dialogue that links circular economy principles with sustainable development and inclusive growth.

The event was further highlighted by the presence of Honorable Chief Guest Professor Durgesh Pant, who shared his insights on the importance of circular economy principles in promoting sustainable development. Professor Pant commented, “The integration of circular economy principles with our PM Gati Shakti Master Plan is an important step towards ensuring economic prosperity while protecting the environment. There is a strong partnership between academia, industry and It is heartening to see the government united."
The formal welcome speech was given by Professor Surekha Dangwal, Vice-Chancellor of Doon University, Dehradun. "The power of collaboration lies in its ability to shape the future. This webinar series exemplifies academia's commitment to facilitating discussions and inspiring action across borders," stressed Professor Dangwal.
The panel discussion was moderated by Surabhi Singhal of the International Council for Circular Economy (ICCE) and Dr. Sudhanshu D Joshi, Coordinator of PM Gati Shakti CoE.
CA Alok Panday Pandey, CFO, Patanjali Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd, emphasized on the role of the private sector in adopting circular economy practices and elaborated on the transformative potential of renewable energy. Dr. Sameer Joshi PhD♻️ Vice Chairman, Indian Plastics Institute, underlined the importance of responsible plastic use and the contribution of the plastics industry to a sustainable circular economy.
Mr Piotr Barczak, ACEN Foundation's circular economy program manager, highlighted global efforts in circular economy advocacy and how ACEN Foundation collaborates with various stakeholders to drive change.
Mr. Hitesh Sharma (South Asian Lead, Sustainable Impact Operations & Compliance, HP Inc., India) spoke about HP Inc.'s commitment to sustainability and its efforts to integrate circular economy principles into its operations.
In the vote of thanks, Prof. H C Purohit, Head, SOM said "As the Circular Economy and PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan series progresses, it is set to empower individuals, organizations and policy makers to adopt circular economy models, fostering a sustainable future"
