⭐️ of the Department of Humanities And Social Sciences (HSS), Dr Ravindra Singh ⭐️

Dr Singh was invited to grace the India@2047 Conclave’s Youth 20 Summit (Y-20) under the aegis of G-20 multilateral political platform for dialogue and deliberation at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC), New Delhi on 13th September, 2022. The Summit was organised by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India with the participation of Shri Sanjay Kumar (Secretary, Youth Affairs), Shri Nitesh Kumar Mishra (Joint Secretary, Youth Affairs), Shri Pankaj Kumar Singh (Director, Youth Affairs) and Shri Dhuwarakha Sriram (Chief, GenU India, Youth Development and Partnership, UNICEF India). Dr Singh and his co-invitees discussed about the National Youth Policy 2030 with a point-device emphasis upon empowerment, entrepreneurship, leadership and governance among the youth apart from other facets linked with climate change, disaster risk management, environmental sustainability, cybercrime and quality of life/well-being. Continuing with the ideological lens put forth in his previous talk during the BRICS Summit at Beijing (China) in 2017, Dr Singh pitched his views on the need to raise awareness among the youth regarding the psychological ramifications in the social milieu.

And, the message was loud and clear of the students from the Department of Humanities And Social Sciences (HSS), Graphic Era University (GEU), Dehradun, who participated in the युवा जागृति रैली as a part of the स्वच्छ अमृत महोत्सव wherein the HSS teamed with the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD). The chief guest for the occasion was Mr Anoop Nautiyal, the tall figure in the field of social development and ecological balance. Guided by Dr Prabha Lama and led by Dr Anugrah Lall, Dr Rinky Rawat and Dr Stuti Saxena, students from the HSS Department along with the student volunteers from the Department of Nursing under the leadership of Ms Dorjee and Mr Akbar, the rally showcased the need for environmental conservation and arousing the sentiments of the Doon(ites) to beautify the capital city 🌆

Dr Ravisankar AV from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), Graphic Era University, brought home laurels for his recognition as the “Best Quantitative Aptitude Trainer and Career Counsellor” by the National Institute of Skills Training (NIST) on the momentous occasion of Teachers’ Day (5th September, 2022). Dr Ravisankar AV is counted among the top-notch “Global Achievers” for his societal transformation initiatives.

Kudos to the International Interns

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) is pleased to host Ms Merel Drop (University of Groningen, The Netherlands) and Ms. Jikkie van Weperen (University of Groningen, The Netherlands) during their internship with Dr Ravisankar A.V. for about a fortnight (19th July - 8th August, 2022). Their commendable contribution in exploring the "Relationship between Upward Physical Appearance Comparison Tendency (UPACT) and Weight Loss Dieting (WLD) among college students" is well-acknowledged. We wish the students the very best in their further pursuits.

“Sky is not the limit” and this was proved by Jai Singh of BA(H) Psychology - our student from Department of Humanities and Social Sciences who clinched silver medal at the Khelo India Archery Tournament this Sunday (31st July, 2022). The event was conducted at the National Centre of Excellence (NCOE), Sonipat. Graphic Era University showers accolades on Jai for his stupendous performance. Keep shining, Jai ⭐️
