DIT University proudly celebrated National Remote Sensing Day 2026! 🛰️🌍

The Department of Civil Engineering, DIT University, organized the event to create awareness about the significance and applications of Remote Sensing, GIS, and Geospatial Technologies in engineering, research, sustainable development, and nation-building.

The programme was enriched by the presence of Shri N. Ravi Shanker, Principal Advisor, and Dr. R. P. Singh, Director, IIRS, as Chief Guest, along with Dr. B. K. Singh, Dean, SoET. An engaging Remote Sensing Awareness Quiz was also organized, and the winners were felicitated by the dignitaries. 🏆

The celebration also highlighted DIT University’s commitment to future-ready education through the PG Programme in Remote Sensing & GIS and the integration of GIS tools into the B.Tech curriculum and Capstone Projects.

We are proud to celebrate Lt Cdr Priyanka Gusain (B.Tech Civil Engineering, 2012–2016), a DIT alumna and one of the five permanent crew members of Samudra Pradakshina, the Tri-Services All-Women Circumnavigation Sailing Expedition.

Over the course of this historic voyage, Priyanka sailed approximately 26,000 nautical miles across some of the world’s most challenging waters, as part of an expedition that brought together the spirit of Nari Shakti, Tri-Service Jointness and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Her journey stands as a powerful example of courage, endurance, leadership and an unwavering determination to go beyond the known.
