As part of the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) sessions under Prarambh 2026, an engaging awareness session on “Nasha Mukt Yuva” was conducted by Ms. Prerna Chaudhary and Mr. Devendra Gupta from the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Narcotics Unit, Dehradun.

The session sensitised students about the harmful consequences of substance abuse and encouraged them to embrace a healthy, responsible and drug-free life.

Drawing from his diverse journey as an Army officer, former software analyst, NCC cadet and adventure enthusiast, Lt. Col. Zamrud shared valuable insights on discipline, leadership, resilience and the courage to pursue one’s goals, inspiring students as they embark on a new academic journey.

Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, in association with S**C MACAY Uttarakhand, hosted a captivating Odissi performance by Pravata Kumar Swain, accompanied by Rohit Kumar Pradhan (Mardal), Ratik Patra (Vocal), Biswajit Pradhan (Flute) and Swagatika Sahoo (Co-Dancer).

The mesmerising performance left the audience immersed in the beauty of classical Indian dance. The artists were felicitated in appreciation of their outstanding artistic presentation and contribution to the cultural enrichment of the university community.

A new chapter begins at Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University with the inauguration of Induction Programme “Prarambh 2026” for newly admitted students.

The programme was graced by Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education & Technical Education, Government of Uttarakhand, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, as Chief Guest, along with Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Tripta Thakur.

The programme welcomed students from the Faculty of Technology, Faculty of Management, Faculty of Pharmacy and Women Institute of Technology, inspiring them to embrace knowledge, innovation, discipline, positive thinking and responsible citizenship.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Tripta Thakur warmly welcomed the newly admitted students to the University family and encouraged them to pursue their academic journey with discipline, collective spirit and a commitment to holistic development. She highlighted the University’s new academic initiatives and urged students to embrace innovation, digital learning and responsible citizenship.

The Hon’ble Minister interacted with students and encouraged them to contribute to social initiatives while embracing the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. He also called upon students to share constructive ideas and suggestions for the University’s development and innovation.

Hon’ble Minister assured support for an additional 200 beds Girls hostel, 100 bed boys hostel and 700 seated multipurpose hall at the University, along with strengthening of library, computer facilities and other essential student amenities.

He further encouraged students to actively participate in Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, Swachta Abhiyan and Nasha Mukti Bharat campaigns, develop multilingual skills, nurture innovation and make continuous learning a part of their academic journey. The Hon’ble Minister also emphasised the importance of positive thinking, creativity, innovation and skill development in shaping a confident and responsible young generation.

Prarambh 2026 marks the beginning of a journey towards learning, growth, innovation and excellence. ✨
