Jointly organised by Sakya College and International Buddhist Academy (IBA) at IBA in Kathmandu, Nepal, the Second Symposium on the Philosophical View and Tenet System of the Sakya Tradition was successfully concluded on 19th August 2026. This important event was graced by the holy presence of His Holiness Sakya Gongma Trichen Rinpoche, Their Holinesses the 42nd & 43rd Sakya Trizin Rinpoches, HE Dungsey Asanga Rinpoche, HE Thartse Khen Rinpoche, HE the 27th Chogye Trichen Rinpoche, HE Khangsar Shabdrung Rinpoche, Tulkus, Khenpos, Khenmos, monks, nuns, and laity from Sakya and other schools of Tibetan Buddhism.

Announcement of Dharma Teaching

This is to inform everyone that His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin, Ratna Vajra Rinpoche, will resume and impart the previous year’s remaining teachings on the Vajrapanjara Ta**ra (Dorji Gur/Vajra Tent Ta**ra) at Sakya College.

The teachings are scheduled to begin on the auspicious date of August 30, 2026, corresponding to the 17th day of the 7th Tibetan lunar month.

Today, 18th July 2026, corresponding to the 4th day of the 6th Tibetan month, on the auspicious occasion commemorating Lord Buddha's First Turning of the Wheel of Dharma, the academic year 2026-2027 at Sakya College officially commenced at 8:00 a.m. Her Eminence Jetsunma Thrinley Palter Rinpoche accompanied by some nuns also began their class at the college.

From 10:00 a.m., the entire sangha led by Khen Rinpoche performed the Grand Mahakala Puja along with one hundred thousand recitations of its praise that will be performed for three consecutive days. This grand puja is dedicated to removing all obstacles and adverse conditions and to ensuring the complete fulfillment of favorable circumstances and auspicious conditions for our root gurus, patrons, and the college.

འཛམ་གླིང་ཞི་བདེའི་དེད་དཔོན། ༧གོང་ས་ལྷ་མིའི་རྣམ་འདྲེན། ༧སྐྱབས་མགོན་༧རྒྱལ་བའི་དབང་པོ། ཐམས་ཅད་མཁྱེན་ཅིང་གཟིགས་པ་ཆེན་པོ་མཆོག་སྐུའི་དགུང་གྲངས་གོ་གཅིག་ལ་ཕེབས་པའི་འཁྲུངས་སྐར་ལ་འདི་གའི་མཁན་སློབ་འདུས་སྡེ་ཡོངས་ནས་འཚམས་འདྲི་དང་སྦྲགས། ༧མགོན་པོ་མཆོག་སླད་མར་ཡང་བདག་སོགས་གདུལ་བྱའི་མགོན་དུ་སྐུ་ཚེ་རྒྱལ་བ་ཚེ་མཐའ་ཡས་པའི་ངོ་བོར་བཞུགས་ཤིང་། ཟབ་རྒྱས་ཆོས་ཀྱི་འཁོར་ལོ་བར་མེད་དུ་བསྐོར་དུ་གསོལ་ཞེས་གསོལ་བ་རྩེ་གཅིག་ཏུ་འདེབས་པ་ལགས་སོ། །
