Placement Readiness Webinar | Department of CST, MAIT

The Department of Computer Science and Technology (CST), MAIT, organised an insightful webinar on *Placement Readiness* for 3rd-year and final-year B.Tech. students, focusing on essential skills for successful campus placements and interviews.

The session was led by Ms. Kamayani Srestha, an Electrical Engineer by profession and an Image Consultant and Soft Skills Trainer by choice, who shared her valuable expertise in professional grooming, communication, and interview preparation.

On September 22, 2026, the students of B.Tech (CST) 5th Semester, Department of Computer Science and Technology, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT), along with faculty coordinators Ms. Vandana Dabass and Mr. Amit Garg, undertook an educational industrial visit to the Centre for e-Governance (CeG), functioning under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, at Electronics Niketan, New Delhi.
The visit aimed to offer students a firsthand look into the massive public technology architecture driving the Digital India mission. By interacting with engineering frameworks and digital governance systems, students were able to bridge the gap between academics and their real-world applications. The direct exposure to national cloud ecosystems, secure APIs, and citizen-centric digital platforms enriched the students' technical perspectives and provided a strong foundation for their future engineering and design pursuits.
Mr. Sunil Kumar, Additional Director, MeitY, led the session with an insightful and in-depth presentation, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the Ministry's functions, objectives, and overarching goals. The session began with an introduction to the Ministry, followed by a detailed exploration of the evolution of the Digital India programme, its nine foundational pillars, and key focus areas for sustained digital growth and transformation. The interaction provided students with valuable insights into the technological initiatives and digital infrastructure shaping India's e-governance ecosystem.

**Expert Talk on Cyber Security | Department of CST, MAIT** 💻

The .mait , successfully organized an insightful **Expert Talk on Cyber Security**, providing students with an opportunity to interact with an accomplished industry professional and gain valuable insights into the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity.

The department expresses our sincere gratitude to Dr. Nand Kishore Garg, Founder Chairman and Chief Advisor, ; Sh. .vineet , Chairman, MATES; and all the respected trust members** for their continuous support and motivation. The event commenced with the auspicious **Saraswati Vandana** in the gracious presence of Prof. Director, MAIT; Prof. (Dr.) , Director, ; and Prof. (Dr.) Sachin Gupta, Dean (R&I), MAIT**. The Department extends its sincere gratitude to Prof. (Dr.) , Additional Director, MAIT, for his constant support, encouragement, and guidance, which contributed significantly to the successful organization of the event. Beginning right from the scratch, Mr. Dhamija explained the fundamentals of Cyber Security and shared his inspiring **13-year professional journey, from being a fresh graduate to becoming an Associate Vice President**. His personal experiences, industry insights, and practical guidance provided students with valuable perspectives on building a successful career in Cyber Security.

Open Circle - officially opened its doors!

Open Circle Orientation 2026 went live on 17th September 2026, hosted by the Department of Computer Science and Technology, MAIT.

The session featured a briefing by our HOD, Dr. Pooja Gupta, followed by an engaging introduction to Open Circle from the world of open source and hackathons to GSoC , collaborative projects, and contributing to real-world tech. The session was coordinated by our Faculty Coordinators , Ms. Sakshi Goel and Mr. Amit Garg, whose guidance continues to shape the vision of Open Circle.

A first look at what we’re building , why we’re building it, and most importantly , how you can be a part of it.

The session truly came alive with active participation from students , as they raised questions, shared their thoughts, cleared their doubts, and engaged in meaningful discussions.

The response was overwhelmingly enthusiastic , setting the perfect tone for what Open Circle aims to build a community where everyone can ask , explore , and contribute.

The orientation was just the beginning.
