Introduction

Jamia Millia Islamia, an institution originally established at Aligarh in United Provinces, India in 1920 became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988. In Urdu language, Jamia means ‘University’, and Millia means ‘National’. The story of its growth from a small institution in the pre-independence India to a central university located in New Delhi—offering in

tegrated education from nursery to research in specialized areas—is a saga of dedication, conviction and vision of a people who worked against all odds and saw it growing step by step. Under the colonial British rule, two dominant trends joined hands and contributed towards in the birth of Jamia. One was the anti-colonial Islamic activism and the other was the pro-independence aspiration of the politically radical section of western educated Indian Muslim intelligentsia. In the political climate of 1920, the two trends gravitated together with Mahatma Gandhi as a catalyst. The anti-colonial activism signified by the Khilafat and the pro-independence aspirations symbolised by the non-cooperation movement of the Indian National Congress helped to harness creative energies and the subsequent making of Jamia Millia Islamia. Rabindranath Tagore called it “one of the most progressive educational institutions of India”. Responding to Gandhiji’s call to boycott all educational institutions supported or run by the colonial regime, a group of nationalist teachers and students quit Aligarh Muslim University, protesting against its pro-British inclinations. The prominent members of this movement were Maulana Mehmud Hasan, Maulana Mohamed Ali, Hakim Ajmal Khan, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari, and Abdul Majid Khwaja. It comprised of the following members:

JMI’s Faculty of Education organises DEEKSHA AAGHAZ-2026: An Orientation Programme for Newly Admitted Students

The Faculty of Education, Jamia Millia Islamia organised Deeksha Aaghaz, an orientation programme for the newly admitted students of batch 2026-2027 on 20th August 2026 at Dr. M. A. Ansari Auditorium, JMI. The programme aimed to welcome the newly admitted students and familiarise them with the academic environment, opportunities, facilities and ethos of the university. Honourable Vice Chancellor, JMI, Prof Mazhar Asif graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and esteemed Registrar Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi as the Guest of Honour. Also present in the inaugural session were the important university functionaries -Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. Neelofer Afzal, Controller of Examinations, Prof. Ahteshamul Haque, Chief Proctor. Prof. M. Asad Malik, Dean, Academic Affairs, Prof. Tanuja and the special guest of the occasion, the faculty alumna Dr. Manu Gulati. The inaugural session was conducted by Prof Gurjeet Kaur (IASE) and Dr. Zeba Tabassum (DES).

The session began with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran by Dr. Tariq (IASE) and Jamia Tarana by a team of students led by Mr Zeeshan Zamir Ahmad (IASE), JMI. Prof. Anita Rastogi, Dean, Faculty of Education warmly welcomed all the esteemed guests and introduced them to the newly admitted students. In her address, she congratulated the newly admitted students for their selection in the university and highlighted the invaluable contributions of the esteemed guests in the development of the university.

Following her welcome address, the dignitaries and distinguished invitees were felicitated with saplings as tokens of gratitude. After this round of warm felicitation, the distinguished dignitaries addressed the fresh entrants of the faculty of education.

Prof. Tanuja, Dean, Academic Affairs, spoke about Jamia’s position in the education ecosystem and encouraged students to become successful educators by focusing on “how to think” rather than “what to think.” She introduced various university cells, including the Residential Coaching Academy and highlighted Jamia’s efforts towards implementing NEP 2020.

The Chief Proctor, Prof. M. Asad Malik, highlighted the importance of maintaining discipline and mutual respect among faculty, students, peers, and the administration and informed the students about attendance requirements, university ordinances, the zero-tolerance policy towards misconduct, helpline numbers, and anti-ragging measures and cells available for student support.

Prof. Ahteshamul Haque, Controller of Examinations, highlighted the university’s digital examination processes, rules, and guidelines. He briefed the students about the online submission of examination forms and examination calendar. He also emphasised the requirement of 75% attendance and introduced the various services available through the student portal, including access to grade cards and grievance redressal. The importance of creating and maintaining an Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) ID was also highlighted.

Prof. Neelofer Afzal, Dean, Students’ Welfare spoke about the various student welfare initiatives and support services available at the University. She highlighted the counselling and guidance services, residential facilities, and financial assistance available to students, emphasising that no deserving student should be deprived of education due to financial constraints. She also informed the students about scholarships and various student clubs and activities, including NSS and NCC. The role of the Internal Complaints Committee in ensuring a safe and supportive campus environment was also underscored.

Following the addresses of the dignitaries, Faculty’s distinguished alumna, Dr. Manu Gulati, Assistant Professor, SCERT, National ICT Awardee, Delhi State Teacher’s Awardee, Fulbright Teaching Fellowship Awardee, and Martha Farrell Awardee, emphasised the importance of continuous learning, remaining a student throughout life, and actively participating in academic and co-curricular activities. She shared her inspiring journey with newly admitted students.

Prof. Farah Farooqi, Head, IASE, presented a brief profile of Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, JMI for the benefit of new students. In his address, Prof. Rizvi highlighted the significant role of teachers in society, tracing the importance of teaching and learning back to the ideas of ancient Greek philosophers such as Aristotle, Socrates, and Plato. He emphasised the importance of developing critical thinking, problem-solving skills, creativity, and the habit of lifelong learning among students. He encouraged the newly admitted students to remain curious, continuously learn, and contribute meaningfully to the society.

The programme also witnessed the digital release by the Honourable Vice Chancellor of two in-house publications- Faculty’s trilingual magazine Taleem (2025-2026) which showcased the compilation of artistic expressions and creative writings of the students and teachers from Faculty of Education, and an e-Newsletter of IASE, Farhang-e-Jamia which encapsulated the important events and achievements of the department from July 2025 to June 2026.

Prof Aejaz Masih, Head, DES briefly introduced Prof. Mazhar Asif, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia to apprise the fresh entrants of the stature and standing of the leader of their institution. Prof. Asif addressed the gathering and encouraged the newly admitted students to draw inspiration from the people and experiences around them. He emphasised the importance of developing one’s own personality and individuality rather than simply following others. He encouraged students to love themselves and their profession, remain curious, and approach their journey in education with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the organising secretary Prof. Gurjeet Kaur, followed by the national anthem led by Mr. Zeeshan Zameer Ahmad from IASE, JMI.

Post tea break, the orientation and interaction programme continued with a series of informative and engaging sessions designed to familiarise the newly admitted students with the university's academic, professional, co-curricular, and student-support ecosystem. This session was conducted by Dr. Raisa Khan.

Dr. Irshad Husain Naqvi, Chief Medical Officer, Ansari Health Care, JMI, introduced students to the medical facilities and specialities available at the hospital, and shared the timings of regular and special OPDs. He also briefed the students about laboratory testing facilities and quality standards, as well as the hospital’s medical waste management practices.

In his talk titled Instilling Discipline and Dedication through NCC, Prof. Iqtidar Mohammad Khan, Hony. Coordinator, NCC, introduced students to the various NCC wings, including the Air Wing for both boys and girls, the Naval Wing, and the four Army Wings. He explained the admission process and the A, B and C certificate examinations, highlighting their benefits in higher education and employment opportunities, including careers in the armed forces and private sector.

Dr. Umaima, ICC Member, talked about Gender Sensitisation and Role of ICC in Grievance Redressal. She explained the ICC’s mechanism for addressing complaints under the POSH Act, 2013, apprising students of its role in creating a safe campus. She emphasised awareness and prevention of harassment and highlighted the ICC’s approach to addressing grievances with support, empathy, and respect, while promoting a culture of sensitisation.

In his talk, Prof Nafis Ahmad, briefed students about the sports facilities at JMI, and their timings. He encouraged students to actively participate in sports, emphasising their role in maintaining holistic health and achieving a balance between intellectual development, physical fitness, and overall well-being.

Dr. Vikas Sitaramji Nagrale, University Librarian, introduced students to the Dr. Zakir Husain Library as a dynamic centre of knowledge rather than merely a repository of books. He highlighted its physical and digital resources, facilities, e-books, online journals, and databases such as Springer, Wiley and Science Direct, along with internet and research support services.

Prof. Rahela Farooqi, Hony. Director, Placement Cell, explained at length the university’s role in facilitating career footholds which also happened to be the title of her talk. She apprised students of placement and career-development initiatives, including opportunities with EdTech companies, foundations and other organisations, along with workshops on resumes, interviews and AI. She specifically highlighted the role of students’ Placement Coordinators and encouraged students to imbibe the 4Cs—curiosity, confidence, consistency and good communication for their overall growth.

Prof. S. M. Muzakkir, Nodal Officer, introduced students to the SWAYAM portal and its implementation at Jamia. He explained its course structure, registration process, four-quadrant approach, evaluation and certification. He highlighted the benefits of free and flexible online learning, skill enhancement and transferable academic credits through the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC). He also apprised students of the integration of SWAYAM into university courses, with at least 20% mandatory learning through the platform.

Under the theme “Not Me but You,” Prof. Roohi Fatma, NSS Officer, introduced students to the values of selfless service, empathy, and responsible citizenship. She explained the NSS logo, its colours, symbol, origin, objectives, and activities. Highlighting its role in community engagement, she encouraged students to participate in initiatives such as blood donation camps, Swachh Bharat Mission, environmental awareness, Yoga Day, Har Ghar Tiranga and campaigns against plastic use.

The last segment focused on an active exchange between students and the Heads of the two departments.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Raisa Khan.

The comprehensive orientation programme was well attended and provided the newly admitted students with an overview of the academic, research, professional, cultural, health, sports and social-engagement opportunities available at Jamia Millia Islamia.

JMI’s Department of Commerce & Business Studies holds First-Ever Two Days National Conference on “GST Reforms for Viksit Bharat: Strengthening Indian Socio-Economic Transformation for 2047” in collaboration with ICSSR, Ministry of Education

New Delhi, August 24, 2026

The Department of Commerce & Business Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University), marked a significant milestone in its academic journey by hosting its first-ever two days National Conference, on “GST Reforms for Viksit Bharat: Strengthening Indian Socio-Economic Transformation for 2047” bringing together 70 research papers, scholars from across seven states and four Vice-Chancellors of Central Universities for a wider dialogue on GST, higher education and Viksit Bharat 2047.

Held on 19th–20th August 2026 at the Jamia Millia Islamia campus in New Delhi and organised in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, the two-day conference emerged as a major academic platform for examining the role of Goods and Services Tax in India’s economic transformation. What distinguished the conference, however, was that its conversations extended beyond taxation to larger questions of governance, inclusion, digital transformation, higher education, research and nation-building.

The conference received 69 research papers through 160 individual registrations involving 108 scholars, including several multi-author submissions. The papers came from more than 25 universities and institutions across seven states and the National Capital Territory of Delhi, with participation from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Telangana and Odisha.

The breadth of participation reflected the growing academic interest in GST as an instrument of economic governance and development. Faculty members, research scholars, postgraduate and undergraduate students, and industry professionals contributed to the conference, with representation from institutions including Jamia Millia Islamia, Aligarh Muslim University, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Jamia Hamdard, the University of Delhi and its constituent colleges, IGNOU, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies, IILM University, Shobhit University, Kumaun University, Amrapali University, Sharda University, Amity University, Banaras Hindu University, Khalsa University, Khalsa College of Law, Utkal University and several other institutions.

The conference opened on 19th August 2026 at the Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FET) Auditorium with the recitation of holy verses and the Jamia Taraana, followed by the welcome address and introduction to the conference theme by Prof. Debarshi Mukherjee, Convener. The inaugural session featured addresses by Prof. Naseeb Ahmad, Head, Department of Commerce & Business Studies, and Prof. Zubair Meenai, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Jamia Millia Islamia.

The academic character of the inaugural session was further strengthened by the launch of the Abstract Proceedings, “GST, Growth & Governance: Pathways to Viksit Bharat,” and the book “AI Literacy: Rethinking Intelligence, Learning, and Human Potential in the Age of Intelligent Machines.” The two publications reflected the conference’s wider engagement with questions of economic governance, technological change, education and India’s development trajectory.

The inaugural session featured the keynote address by Dr Amir Ullah Khan, Member, Telangana Public Service Commission, followed by the presidential address of Prof. Mazhar Asif, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia and Chief Patron of the conference. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Vivek, Co-Convener, followed by the National Anthem.

The conference was organised under the guidance of Prof. Zubair Meenai and Prof. Naseeb Ahmad as Co-Patrons, with Prof. Debarshi Mukherjee as Convener and Dr Vivek and Dr Izhar Ahmad as Co-Conveners, supported by the conference coordination team comprising Zaineb Ali, Sajada, Areeba, Iqra Tabassum, Fahad Makhdoomi, Eram Khan, Karuna Bhatla, Faiz Qamar, Ayesha Khan, Abhishek Pratap Singh and Mirza Hannan Bashar.

The academic core of the conference comprised eight technical sessions across eight thematic areas, bringing together research perspectives on the diverse economic, social and institutional dimensions of GST.The discussions began with GST and the Vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, chaired by Dr Ksh*tij Awasthi of IIM Lucknow, with Dr Mohd Atif, JMI, as Co-Chair and Dr Tauseef Uddin Siddiqui, JMI, as Discussant. The session examined GST within the broader framework of India’s long-term development aspirations.

The second session, GST and Sectoral Impact, was chaired by Prof. Krishn Awatar Goyal of Jai Narain Vyas University, with Mr. S. Shaamikh Ahsan, JMI, as Co-Chair and Dr Md Zakaria Siddiqui, JMI, as Discussant. The third, GST, Inclusion, and Sustainable Development, was led by Prof. Sheema Aleem, JMI, with Dr Sameer Babu, JMI, as Co-Chair and Prof. Asheref Illiyan, JMI, as Discussant.

The fourth session, Challenges, Reforms, and Future Roadmap, was chaired by Prof. Mohd Yameen of Aligarh Muslim University, with Dr Saifur Rehman Farooqi, JMI, as Co-Chair and Prof. Naseeb Ahmad, JMI, as Discussant. The fifth, GST and Ease of Doing Business, featured Prof. Bhavesh Prakash Joshi of Manav Rachna University as Session Chair, Dr Yasmeen Shamsi Rizvi, JMI, as Co-Chair and Prof. Mohammed Kamalun Nabi, JMI, as Discussant.

The sixth session, GST and Socio-Economic Transformation, was chaired by Dr Pallavi Tyagi of Amity University, with Lt. (Dr.) Anwara Hashmi, JMI, as Co-Chair and Prof. Rahela Farooqi, JMI, as Discussant. The seventh, GST, Cooperative Federalism, and Fiscal Governance, was led by Prof. Shruti Tripathi, Dean, Faculty of Business, Finance & Managerial Skills, Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University, with Dr Vasim Akram, JMI, as Co-Chair and Prof. Moonis Shakeel, JMI, as Discussant.

The final technical session, GST and the Digital Economy, was chaired by Dr Deepjyoti Choudhury of Assam University, with Dr Mohammad Kashif Khan, JMI, as Co-Chair and Prof. Rihan Khan Suri, JMI, as Discussant.

A distinctive feature of the conference was the Conference Leadership Dialogue on “Universities for Viksit Bharat 2047: Reimagining Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Inclusive Nation Building.”. In a rare academic gathering, four Vice-Chancellors of Central Universities came together on one platform to discuss the future of Indian higher education and the role universities must play in shaping a developed India by 2047. Moderated by Prof. Debarshi Mukherjee, the dialogue brought together Prof. Mazhar Asif, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia; Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant, Vice-Chancellor, Assam University; Prof. Dibakar Chandra Deka, Vice-Chancellor, Mizoram University; and Prof. Debbrata Das, Vice-Chancellor, Tripura University.

The conversation moved beyond institutional perspectives to address some of the larger questions facing Indian education: the relevance of Indian knowledge traditions, multilingual education, interdisciplinary learning, research and innovation, sustainability, institutional responsibility and the role of universities in inclusive nation-building.

The second day of the conference, 20th August 2026, also featured a Policy Research Dialogue with Dr Ksh*tij Awasthi of IIM Lucknow, providing an opportunity to connect academic inquiry with contemporary policy concerns.

The dialogue complemented the technical sessions by encouraging participants to consider how research on taxation and economic governance can contribute to policy formulation and implementation. The day also witnessed the launch of the book “Many Minds, One Nation,” adding another important intellectual dimension to the conference. The combination of research presentations, policy dialogue, academic publications and institutional leadership gave the second day a wider character, bringing together different dimensions of the conference’s underlying theme: the role of knowledge, institutions and informed public policy in India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.

The conference concluded with a Valedictory Ceremony bringing together senior university officials, Deans, Heads, Directors, academic leaders and delegates.

The ceremony was addressed by Prof. Naseeb Ahmad, Prof. Zubair Meenai, Prof. Md. Kamalun Nabi, Finance Officer, JMI, and Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, JMI. The Guest of Honour, Prof. Gobardhan Das, Member, NITI Aayog, addressed the gathering, followed by the presidential address of Prof. Mazhar Asif, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia.

The ceremony also featured the Best Paper Award and Certificate Distribution, recognising notable research contributions presented during the conference, the Overall Best Conference Paper Award was conferred on Dr. Bilal Khan and Dr. Kaifi Azam of IILM University, Greater Noida, for their paper titled “Impact of GST on Banking Sector Development: Evidence from State-Level Panel Data in India”.

The Second Best Paper Award was presented to Suhaib Basheer and Dr. Mohd. Atif of Jamia Millia Islamia for their paper, “From Specific Coal Cess to Ad Valorem GST: Examining India’s Implicit Carbon-Price Signal and Firm-Level Emission Intensity”.

The Third Best Paper Award was presented to Shahbaz Ahmad Khan, Nadeem Khan, and Dr. Mohd. Saeem Khan of Aligarh Muslim University for their paper, “GST and the Digital Economy: Examining Youth Digital Startup Intentions in India through Digital Readiness, Financial Literacy, and Entrepreneurial Motivation”.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Izhar Ahmad, Co-Convener, followed by the National Anthem.

जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया (केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय) के सोशल साइंसेज़ फैकल्टी के वाणिज्य एवं व्यवसाय अध्ययन विभाग ने अपनी शैक्षणिक यात्रा में एक महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि हासिल की। विभाग ने "विकसित भारत के लिए जीएसटी रिफोर्म्स फॉर विकसित भारत: स्ट्रेन्थनिंग इंडियन सोशिओ- इकॉनोमिक ट्रांसफॉर्मेशन फॉर 2047" विषय पर अपना पहला दो-दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन आयोजित किया। इस सम्मलेन में जीएसटी, उच्च शिक्षा और विकसित भारत 2047 पर व्यापक चर्चा के लिए 70 रिसर्च पेपर, सात राज्यों के स्कॉलर्स और केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालयों के चार वाइस-चांसलर एक साथ आए।

नई दिल्ली में जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया कैंपस में 19-20 अगस्त, 2026 को आयोजित और इंडियन काउंसिल ऑफ़ सोशल साइंस रिसर्च (ICSSR), नई दिल्ली के सहयोग से आयोजित यह दो-दिवसीय सम्मेलन भारत के आर्थिक बदलाव में गुड्स एंड सर्विसेज़ टैक्स (जीएसटी) की भूमिका की जांच करने के लिए एक प्रमुख शैक्षणिक मंच के रूप में उभरा। हालाँकि, इस सम्मेलन की खासियत यह थी कि इसमें बातचीत केवल टैक्स तक ही सीमित नहीं रही, बल्कि इसमें गवर्नेंस, समावेश, डिजिटल बदलाव, उच्च शिक्षा, रिसर्च और राष्ट्र-निर्माण जैसे बड़े मुद्दों पर भी चर्चा हुई।

सम्मेलन को 160 व्यक्तिगत रजिस्ट्रेशन के ज़रिए 69 रिसर्च पेपर मिले, जिनमें 108 स्कॉलर्स शामिल थे और कई पेपर एक से ज़्यादा लेखकों द्वारा जमा किए गए थे। ये पेपर सात राज्यों और दिल्ली के राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र के 25 से ज़्यादा विश्वविद्यालयों और संस्थानों से आए थे, जिनमें दिल्ली, उत्तर प्रदेश, हरियाणा, उत्तराखंड, पंजाब, तेलंगाना और ओडिशा की भागीदारी रही।

भागीदारी का यह दायरा आर्थिक गवर्नेंस और विकास के साधन के रूप में जीएसटी में बढ़ती शैक्षणिक रुचि को दर्शाता है। इस सम्मेलन में फैकल्टी सदस्यों, रिसर्च स्कॉलर्स, पोस्टग्रेजुएट और अंडरग्रेजुएट छात्रों और इंडस्ट्री प्रोफेशनल्स ने हिस्सा लिया। इसमें जामिया मिलिया इस्लामिया, अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी, मौलाना आज़ाद नेशनल उर्दू यूनिवर्सिटी, जामिया हमदर्द, दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी और उससे जुड़े कॉलेजों, इग्नू (IGNOU), मानव रचना इंटरनेशनल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ़ रिसर्च एंड स्टडीज़, IILM यूनिवर्सिटी, शोभित यूनिवर्सिटी, कुमाऊं यूनिवर्सिटी, आम्रपाली यूनिवर्सिटी, शारदा यूनिवर्सिटी, एमिटी यूनिवर्सिटी, बनारस हिंदू यूनिवर्सिटी, खालसा यूनिवर्सिटी, खालसा कॉलेज ऑफ़ लॉ, उत्कल यूनिवर्सिटी और कई अन्य संस्थानों के प्रतिनिधि शामिल हुए।

सम्मेलन की शुरुआत 19 अगस्त 2026 को फैकल्टी ऑफ़ इंजीनियरिंग एंड टेक्नोलॉजी (FET) ऑडिटोरियम में पवित्र आयतों के पाठ और जामिया तराना के साथ हुई। इसके बाद संयोजक प्रो. देबर्षि मुखर्जी ने स्वागत वक्तव्य दिया और सम्मेलन के विषय के बारे में जानकारी दी। उद्घाटन सत्र में वाणिज्य एवं व्यवसाय अध्ययन विभाग के अध्यक्ष प्रो. नसीब अहमद और जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया की सोशल साइंसेज फैकल्टी के डीन प्रो. जुबैर मीनाई ने वक्तव्य दिए।

उद्घाटन सत्र के एकेडमिक महत्व को 'जीएसटी, ग्रोथ एंड गवर्नेंस: पाथवेज़ टू विकसित भारत' विषयक एब्स्ट्रैक्ट प्रोसीडिंग्स और 'AI लिटरेसी: रीथिंकिंग इंटेलिजेंस, लर्निंग, एंड ह्यूमन पोटेंशियल इन द एज ऑफ़ इंटेलिजेंट मशीन्स' किताब के लॉन्च से और मजबूती मिली। ये दोनों प्रकाशन इकॉनोमिक गवर्नेंस, तकनीकी बदलाव, शिक्षा और भारत के विकास के रास्ते जैसे मुद्दों पर सम्मेलन की व्यापक चर्चा को दर्शाते हैं।

उद्घाटन सत्र में तेलंगाना पब्लिक सर्विस कमीशन के सदस्य डॉ. अमीर उल्लाह खान ने मुख्य वक्तव्य दिया। इसके बाद जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया के वाइस-चांसलर और सम्मेलन के चीफ पैट्रन प्रो. मज़हर आसिफ़ ने अध्यक्षीय भाषण दिया। सत्र का समापन सह-संयोजक डॉ. विवेक के धन्यवाद ज्ञापन और राष्ट्रगान के साथ हुआ। यह सम्मेलन प्रो. ज़ुबैर मीनाई और प्रो. नसीब अहमद की देखरेख में को-पेट्रन के तौर पर आयोजित किया गया था। इसमें प्रो. देबर्षि मुखर्जी संयोजक थे और डॉ. विवेक व डॉ. इज़हार अहमद सह-संयोजक थे। सम्मेलन कोऑर्डिनेशन टीम में ज़ैनब अली, सजादा, अरीबा, इकरा तबस्सुम, फहाद मखदूमी, इरम खान, करुणा भटला, फ़ैज़ कमर, आयशा खान, अभिषेक प्रताप सिंह और मिर्ज़ा हन्नान बशर शामिल थे।

सम्मेलन के एकेडमिक हिस्से में आठ अलग-अलग विषयों पर आठ तकनीकी सत्र हुए, जिनमें जीएसटी के आर्थिक, सामाजिक और संस्थागत पहलुओं पर रिसर्च से जुड़े नज़रिए सामने आए। चर्चा की शुरुआत 'जीएसटी और विकसित भारत 2047 का विज़न' विषय से हुई, जिसकी अध्यक्षता IIM लखनऊ के डॉ. क्षितिज अवस्थी ने की। इसमें जेएमआई के डॉ. मो. आतिफ़ को-चेयर और जामिया के डॉ. तौसीफ़ उद्दीन सिद्दीकी डिस्कसेंट थे। इस सत्र में भारत के लंबे समय के विकास के लक्ष्यों के बड़े दायरे में जीएसटी पर चर्चा की गई।

दूसरे सत्र, 'जीएसटी एंड सेक्टरल इम्पैक्ट' की अध्यक्षता जय नारायण व्यास यूनिवर्सिटी के प्रोफ़ेसर कृष्ण अवतार गोयल ने की, जिसमें जामिया के श्री एस. शामिख अहसान को-चेयर और जामिया के डॉ. मोहम्मद ज़कारिया सिद्दीकी डिस्कसेंट थे। तीसरे सत्र, 'जीएसटी, इनक्लूजन एंड सस्टेनेबल डेवेलपमेंट' का नेतृत्व जामिया की प्रोफ़ेसर शीमा अलीम ने किया, जिसमें जामियाके डॉ. समीर बाबू को-चेयर और जामिया के प्रोफ़ेसर अशरफ़ इलियन डिस्कसेंट थे।

चौथे सत्र, 'चेलेंजेज़, रिफॉर्म्सएंड फ्यूचर रोडमैप' की अध्यक्षता अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी के प्रोफ़ेसर मोहम्मद यामीन ने की, जिसमें जामिया के डॉ. सैफुर रहमान फारूकी को-चेयर और जामिया के प्रोफ़ेसर नसीब अहमद डिस्कसेंट थे। पांचवें सत्र, 'जीएसटी एंड इज़ ऑफ़ डूइंग बिज़नेस' में मानव रचना यूनिवर्सिटी के प्रोफ़ेसर भावेश प्रकाश जोशी सेशन चेयर, जामिया की डॉ. यास्मीन शम्सी रिज़वी को-चेयर और जामिया के प्रोफ़ेसर मोहम्मद कमालुन नबी डिस्कसेंट थे।

छठे सत्र, 'जीएसटी एनस सोशिओ-इकोनॉमिक ट्रांसफॉर्मेशन' की अध्यक्षता एमिटी यूनिवर्सिटी की डॉ. पल्लवी त्यागी ने की, जिसमें जामिया की लेफ्टिनेंट (डॉ.) अनवारा हाशमी को-चेयर और जामिया की प्रोफ़ेसर रहेला फारूकी डिस्कसेंट थीं। सातवें सत्र, 'जीएसटी, कोओपरेटिव फेडेरलिस्म एंड फिस्कल गवर्नेंस' का नेतृत्व दिल्ली स्किल एंड एंटरप्रेन्योरशिप यूनिवर्सिटी के बिजनेस, फाइनेंस और मैनेजरियल स्किल्स फैकल्टी के डीन प्रोफ़ेसर श्रुति त्रिपाठी ने किया, जिसमें जामिया के डॉ. वसीम अकरम को-चेयर और जामिया के प्रोफ़ेसर मूनिस शकील डिस्कसेंट थे।

आखिरी तकनीकी सत्र, 'जीएसटी एंड द डिजिटल इकॉनमी' की अध्यक्षता असम यूनिवर्सिटी के डॉ. दीपज्योति चौधरी ने की, जिसमें जामिया के डॉ. मोहम्मद काशिफ खान को-चेयर और जामिया के प्रोफ़ेसर रिहान खान सूरी डिस्कसेंट थे।

सम्मेलन की एक खास बात 'विकसित भारत 2047 के लिए यूनिवर्सिटीज़: उच्च शिक्षा, रिसर्च, इनोवेशन और समावेशी राष्ट्र निर्माण की नई सोच' पर कॉन्फ्रेंस लीडरशिप डायलॉग था। एक खास एकेडमिक मीटिंग में, सेंट्रल यूनिवर्सिटीज़ के चार वाइस-चांसलर एक मंच पर आए। उन्होंने भारतीय हायर एजुकेशन के भविष्य और 2047 तक विकसित भारत बनाने में यूनिवर्सिटीज़ की भूमिका पर चर्चा की। प्रो. देबर्षि मुखर्जी के संचालन में हुई इस बातचीत में जामिया मिलिया इस्लामिया के वाइस-चांसलर प्रो. मज़हर आसिफ़, असम यूनिवर्सिटी के वाइस-चांसलर प्रो. राजीव मोहन पंत, मिज़ोरम यूनिवर्सिटी के वाइस-चांसलर प्रो. दिवाकर चंद्र डेका और त्रिपुरा यूनिवर्सिटी के वाइस-चांसलर प्रो. देब्रत दास शामिल हुए।

यह बातचीत सिर्फ़ संस्थानों के नज़रिए तक सीमित नहीं रही, बल्कि भारतीय शिक्षा के सामने मौजूद कुछ बड़े सवालों पर भी केंद्रित रही: जैसे भारतीय ज्ञान परंपराओं की प्रासंगिकता, बहुभाषी शिक्षा, इंटरडिसिप्लिनरी लर्निंग (अलग-अलग विषयों को मिलाकर सीखना), रिसर्च और इनोवेशन, सस्टेनेबिलिटी, संस्थान की ज़िम्मेदारी और समावेशी राष्ट्र-निर्माण में यूनिवर्सिटीज़ की भूमिका।

सम्मेलन के दूसरे दिन, 20 अगस्त 2026 को आईआईएम लखनऊ के डॉ. क्षितिज अवस्थी के साथ एक नीति अनुसंधान संवाद भी आयोजित किया गया, जो अकादमिक जांच को समकालीन नीतिगत चिंताओं से जोड़ने का अवसर प्रदान करता है।

संवाद ने प्रतिभागियों को इस बात पर विचार करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करके तकनीकी सत्रों को पूरक बनाया कि कैसे कराधान और आर्थिक शासन पर शोध नीति निर्माण और कार्यान्वयन में योगदान दे सकता है। इस दिन सम्मेलन में एक और महत्वपूर्ण बौद्धिक आयाम जोड़ते हुए "मेनी माइंड्स, वन नेशन" पुस्तक का विमोचन भी हुआ। अनुसंधान प्रस्तुतियों, नीति संवाद, अकादमिक प्रकाशनों और संस्थागत नेतृत्व के संयोजन ने दूसरे दिन को एक व्यापक चरित्र दिया, जिसमें सम्मेलन के अंतर्निहित विषय के विभिन्न आयामों को एक साथ लाया गया: विकसित भारत 2047 की ओर भारत की यात्रा में ज्ञान, संस्थानों और सूचित सार्वजनिक नीति की भूमिका।

सम्मेलन का समापन विश्वविद्यालय के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों, डीन, अध्यक्ष, निदेशकों, एकेडेमिक लीडर्स और प्रतिनिधियों को एक साथ लाने वाले समापन समारोह के साथ हुआ।

समारोह को प्रोफेसर नसीब अहमद, प्रोफेसर जुबैर मीनाई, प्रोफेसर मोहम्मद कमालुन नबी, वित्त अधिकारी, जामिया और प्रोफेसर मोहम्मद महताब आलम रिजवी, रजिस्ट्रार, जेएमआई ने संबोधित किया। विशिष्ट अतिथि, नीति आयोग के सदस्य प्रो. गोबरधन दास ने सभा को संबोधित किया, जिसके बाद जामिया मिलिया इस्लामिया के कुलपति प्रो. मजहर आसिफ़ ने अध्यक्षीय वक्तव्य दिया।

समारोह में सर्वश्रेष्ठ पेपर पुरस्कार और प्रमाणपत्र वितरण भी शामिल था, सम्मेलन के दौरान प्रस्तुत किए गए उल्लेखनीय शोध योगदान को मान्यता देते हुए, समग्र सर्वश्रेष्ठ सम्मेलन पेपर पुरस्कार आईआईएलएम विश्वविद्यालय, ग्रेटर नोएडा के डॉ. बिलाल खान और डॉ. कैफ़ी आज़म को उनके पेपर "इम्पैक्ट ऑफ़ जीएसटी ऑन बैंकिंग सेक्टर डेवलपमेंट: एविडेंस फ्रॉम स्टेट लेवल पैनल डेटा इन इंडिया" शीर्षक के लिए प्रदान किया गया था।

दूसरा सर्वश्रेष्ठ पेपर पुरस्कार सुहैब बशीर और जामिया मिलिया इस्लामिया के डॉ. मोहम्मद आतिफ को उनके पेपर, "फ्रॉम स्पेसिफिक कोल सेस टू एड वलोरेम जीएसटी : एक्सामिनिंग इंडिया’ज़ इम्पलिसिट कार्बन-प्राइस सिग्नल एंड फर्म लेवल एमिसन इंटेंसिटी " के लिए प्रदान किया गया।

तीसरा सर्वश्रेष्ठ पेपर पुरस्कार शाहबाज़ अहमद खान, नदीम खान और डॉ. मोहम्मद सईम खान, अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय को उनके पेपर, "जीएसटी एंड द डिजिटल इकॉनमी: एक्सामिनिंग यूथ डिजिटल स्टार्टअप इंटेंशन्स इन इंडिया थ्रू डिजिटल रेडीनेस, फाइनेंसियल लिट्रेसी एंड एन्तेर्प्रेनयूरिअल मोटिवेशन" के लिए प्रदान किया गया। ।

جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کی فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز کے شعبہ کامرس اینڈ بزنس اسٹڈیز نے اپنے تعلیمی سفر میں ایک اہم سنگِ میل عبور کرتے ہوئے اپنی نوعیت کی پہلی دو روزہ قومی کانفرنس کا انعقاد کیا۔ ”وکست بھارت کے لیے جی ایس ٹی اصلاحات: دوہزار سیتالیس تک ہندوستان کی سماجی و اقتصادی تبدیلی کو مستحکم کرنا“کے موضوع پر منعقدہ اس کانفرنس میں ستر تحقیقی مقالات پیش کیے گئے اور سات ریاستوں کے ماہرین تعلیم کے ساتھ ساتھ مرکزی یونیورسٹیوں کے چار وائس چانسلرز نے شرکت کی، تاکہ جی ایس ٹی، اعلیٰ تعلیم اور 'وکست بھارت دوہزار سینتالیس'‘جیسے اہم موضوع پر وسیع تر مکالمہ انجا م جا سکے۔

نئی دہلی میں واقع جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے کیمپس میں انیس اور بیس اگست دوہزار چھبیس کو منعقدہ اور انڈین کونسل آف سوشل سائنس ریسرچ، نئی دہلی کے اشتراک سے ترتیب دی گئی یہ دو روزہ کانفرنس، ہندوستان کی اقتصادی تبدیلی میں ”گڈز اینڈ سروسز ٹیکس(جی ایس ٹی)‘ کے کردار کا جائزہ لینے کے لیے ایک اہم تعلیمی پلیٹ فارم ثابت ہوئی۔ تاہم، اس کانفرنس کی امتیازی خصوصیت یہ تھی کہ اس میں ہونے والی گفتگو محض ٹیکس کے نظام تک محدود نہیں رہی بلکہ اس کا دائرہ کار حکمرانی، شمولیت، ڈیجیٹل تبدیلی، اعلیٰ تعلیم، تحقیق اور تعمیرِ قوم جیسے وسیع تر مسائل تک پھیلا ہوا تھا۔

اس کانفرنس میں ایک سو آٹھ محققین کی جانب سے ایک سو ساٹھ انفرادی رجسٹریشن کے ذریعے انہتر تحقیقی مقالات موصول ہوئے، جن میں متعدد ایسے مقالے بھی شامل تھے جو ایک سے زائد مصنفین نے مشترکہ طور پر تیار کیے تھے۔ یہ مقالا ت سات ریاستوں اور قومی راجدھانی دہلی میں واقع پچیس سے زائد یونیورسٹیوں اور اداروں کی جانب سے پیش کیے گئے؛ ان میں دہلی، اتر پردیش، ہریانہ، اتراکھنڈ، پنجاب، تلنگانہ اور اوڈیشہ کے تعلیمی ادارے شامل تھے۔

شرکت کا یہ وسیع دائرہ کار معاشی نظم و نسق اور ترقی کے ایک آلے کے طور پر جی ایس ٹی میں بڑھتی علمی دلچسپی کو اجاگر کرتاہے۔ کانفرنس میں اساتذہ، رسرچ اسکالرس، پوسٹ گریجویٹ اور انڈر گریجویٹ طلبہ اور صنعت سے وابستہ پیشہ ور افراد نے حصہ لیا۔ اس میں جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ، علی گڑھ مسلم یونیورسٹی، مولانا آزاد نیشنل اردو یونیورسٹی، جامعہ ہمدرد، دہلی یونیورسٹی اور اس کے ملحقہ کالجز، اگنو، مانو،رچنا انٹرنیشنل انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ریسرچ اینڈ اسٹڈیز، آئی آئی ایل ایم یونیورسٹی، شوبھت یونیورسٹی، کماؤں یونیورسٹی، امراپالی یونیورسٹی، شاردا یونیورسٹی، ایمیٹی یونیورسٹی، بنارس ہندو یونیورسٹی، خالصہ یونیورسٹی، خالصہ کالج آف لا، اتکل یونیورسٹی اور دیگر کئی اداروں کے نمائندوں نے شرکت کی۔

کانفرنس کا آغاز انیس اگست دوہزار چھبیس کو فیکلٹی آف انجینئرنگ اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی کے آڈیٹوریم میں تلاوتِ کلامِ پاک اور جامعہ کے ترانے سے ہوا، جس کے بعد کنوینر پروفیسر دیبارشی مکھرجی نے مہمانان او رسامعین و حاضرین کا خیر مقدم کیا اور کانفرنس کے موضوع کا تعارف پیش کیا۔ افتتاحی اجلاس سے شعبہ کامرس اینڈ بزنس اسٹڈیز کے سربراہ پروفیسر نصیب احمد اور جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کی فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز کے ڈین پروفیسر زبیر مینائی نے بھی خطاب کیا۔

افتتاحی اجلاس کی علمی حیثیت کو 'ایبسٹریکٹ پروسیڈنگز' (مقالہ جات کی تلخٰص پر مبنی مجموعے) بعنوان جی ایس ٹی، گروتھ اینڈ گورنینس:پاتھ ویز تو وکست بھارت اے آئی لٹیریسی: ریتھنکنگ انٹلی جینس،لرننگ اینڈ ہیومن پوٹینشیل ان دی ایج آف انٹلی جینٹ مشینس کی رونمائی نے مزید مستحکم کیا۔ یہ دونوں مطبوعات اقتصادی طرزِ حکمرانی، تکنیکی تبدیلی، تعلیم اور بھارت کے ترقیاتی سفر جیسے امور کے ساتھ کانفرنس کی وسیع تر وابستگی کی عکاس تھیں۔

افتتاحی اجلاس میں تلنگانہ پبلک سروس کمیشن کے رکن ڈاکٹر عامر اللہ خان نے کلیدی خطاب کیا، جس کے بعد جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے شیخ الجامعہ اور کانفرنس کے سرپرست اعلی عزت مآب پروفیسر مظہر آصف نے صدارتی خطاب کیا۔ اجلاس کا اختتام شریک کنوینر ڈاکٹر وویک کے اظہار تشکر اور قومی ترانے پر ہوا۔

یہ کانفرنس پروفیسر زبیر مینائی اور پروفیسر نصیب احمد کی بطور شریک سرپرست رہنمائی میں منعقد کی گئی، جس میں پروفیسر دیبارشی مکھرجی کنوینر اور ڈاکٹر وویک اور ڈاکٹر اظہار احمد شریک کنوینر تھے۔ اس کے انعقاد میں کانفرنس کوآرڈینیشن ٹیم کا تعاون شامل تھا جس میں زینب علی، سجادہ، اریبہ، اقرا تبسم، فہد مخدومی، ارم خان، کرونا بھٹلا، فیض قمر، عائشہ خان، ابھیشیک پرتاپ سنگھ اور مرزا حنان بشار شامل تھے۔

کانفرنس کا علمی و تحقیقی مرکز آٹھ مختلف موضوعاتی شعبوں پر محیط آٹھ تکنیکی اجلاسوں پر مشتمل تھا، جن میں جی ایس ٹی کے متنوع معاشی، سماجی اور ادارہ جاتی پہلوؤں پر تحقیقی نقطہ نظر کو یکجا کیا گیا۔ مباحثوں کا آغاز 'جی ایس ٹی اور وکست بھارت دوہزار سینتالیس کا وژن' کے موضوع پر اجلاس سے ہوا، جس کی صدارت آئی آئی ایم لکھنؤ کے ڈاکٹر کشتیج اوستھی نے کی، جب کہ جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے ڈاکٹر محمد عاطف شریک چیئر اور جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے ڈاکٹر توصیف الدین صدیقی بطور باحث شامل رہے۔ اس سیشن میں ہندوستان کے طویل مدتی ترقیاتی عزائم کے وسیع تر تناظر میں جی ایس ٹی کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔

دوسرا اجلاس’جی ایس ٹی اور شعبہ جاتی اثرات‘ کے موضوع پر جس کی صدارت جے نارائن ویاس یونیورسٹی کے پروفیسر کرشن اوتار گوئل نے کی، جب کہ جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے جناب ایس شامخ احسن شریک چیئر اور جامعہ کے ڈاکٹر محمد زکریا صدیقی بطور باحث شامل رہے۔ تیسرے سیشن’جی ایس ٹی، شمولیت اور پائیدار ترقی‘ کی قیادت جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کی پروفیسر شیما علیم نے کی؛ اس میں جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے ڈاکٹر سمیر بابو شریک چیئر اور جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے پروفیسر اشرف الیان بطور باحث شریک رہے۔

چھٹے اجلاس’جی ایس ٹی اور سماجی و اقتصادی تبدیلی“ کی صدارت ایمیٹی یونیورسٹی کی ڈاکٹر پلوی تیاگی نے کی، جب کہ جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کی لیفٹیننٹ (ڈاکٹر) انوارہ ہاشمی شریک چیئر اور جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کی پروفیسر راحیلہ فاروقی بطور باحث شامل رہیں۔ ساتویں اجلاس مین’جی ایس ٹی، کوآپریٹو فیڈرلزم اور مالیاتی نظم و نسق‘ کی قیادت دہلی اسکل اینڈ انٹرپرینیورشپ یونیورسٹی کی فیکلٹی آف بزنس، فنانس اینڈ مینیجریل اسکلز کی ڈین پروفیسر شروتی ترپاٹھی نے کی؛ اس میں جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے ڈاکٹر وسیم اکرم شریک چیئر اور جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے پروفیسر مونس شکیل بطور باحث شریک ہوئے۔

آخری تکنیکی سیشن،’جی ایس ٹی اور ڈیجیٹل اکانومی، کی صدارت آسام یونیورسٹی کے ڈاکٹر دیپ جیوتی چودھری نے کی، جب کہ جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ ڈاکٹر محمد کاشف خان شریک چیئر اور جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے پروفیسر ریحان خان سوری بطور باحث شامل رہے۔

کانفرنس کی ایک نمایاں خصوصیت "وکست بھارت دوہزارسینتالیس کے لیے یونیورسٹیاں: اعلیٰ تعلیم، تحقیق، جدت اور سب کو ساتھ لے کر قوم کی تعمیر نو کا تصور کے موضوع پر کانفرنس لیڈرشپ ڈائیلاگ تھا۔ ایک منفرد علمی اجتماع میں، مرکزی یونیورسٹیوں کے چار وائس چانسلرز ایک پلیٹ فارم پر اکٹھے ہوئے تاکہ ہندوستانی اعلیٰ تعلیم کے مستقبل اور دوہزار سینتالیس تک ایک ترقی یافتہ ہندوستان کی تشکیل میں یونیورسٹیوں کے کردار پر تبادلہ خیال کر سکیں۔ پروفیسر دیبارشی مکھرجی کی نظامت میں ہونے والے اس مکالمے میں جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے شیخ الجامعہ عزت مآب پروفیسر مظہر آصف، آسام یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر راجیو موہن پنت، میزورم یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر دیباکر چندر ڈیکا اور تریپورہ یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر دیبرتا داس نے شرکت کی۔

ہندوستانی تعلیم کو درپیش کچھ بڑے سوالات کو حل کرنے کے لئے بات چیت ادارہ جاتی نقطہ نظر سے آگے بڑھی: ہندوستانی علمی روایات کی مطابقت، کثیر لسانی تعلیم، بین الضابطہ تعلیم، تحقیق اور اختراع، پائیداری، ادارہ جاتی ذمہ داری اور جامع قوم کی تعمیر میں یونیورسٹیوں کا کردار۔

کانفرنس کے دوسرے دن، بیس اگست دوہزار چھبیس میں، آئی آئی ایم لکھنؤ کے ڈاکٹر کشتیج اوستھی کے ساتھ پالیسی ریسرچ ڈائیلاگ بھی پیش کیا گیا، جس سے تعلیمی انکوائری کو عصری پالیسی کے خدشات سے جوڑنے کا موقع ملا۔

مکالمے نے شرکا کو اس بات پر غور کرنے کی ترغیب دیتے ہوئے تکنیکی سیشن کی تکمیل کی کہ ٹیکسیشن اور معاشی نظم و نسق پر تحقیق پالیسی کی تشکیل اور نفاذ میں کس طرح اپنا تعاون دے سکتی ہے۔ اس دن کانفرنس میں ایک اور اہم فکری جہت کا اضافہ کرتے ہوئے کتاب ’بہت سے ذہن، ایک قوم‘کی رونمائی بھی ہوئی۔ تحقیقی پریزنٹیشنز، پالیسی ڈائیلاگ، علمی اشاعتوں اور ادارہ جاتی قیادت کے امتزاج نے دوسرے دن کو ایک وسیع کردار دے دیا، جس نے کانفرنس کے بنیادی تھیم کی مختلف جہتوں کو اکٹھا کیا: وکست بھارت دوہزار سینتالیس کی طرف ہندوستان کے سفر میں علم، اداروں اور باخبر عوامی پالیسی کا کردار۔

کانفرنس کا اختتام ایک الوداعی تقریب پر ہوا جس میں یونیورسٹی کے اعلیٰ عہدیداران، ڈینز، سربراہانِ شعبہ جات، ڈائریکٹرز، تعلیمی رہنما اور مندوبین شریک ہوئے۔

اس تقریب سے پروفیسر نصیب احمد، پروفیسر زبیر مینائی، پروفیسر محمد کمال النبی (افسر مالیات،جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ) اور پروفیسر محمد مہتاب عالم رضوی (مسجل،جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ) نے خطاب کیا۔ مہمانِ خصوصی پروفیسر گووردھن داس (رکن، نیتی آیوگ) نے بھی شرکائسے خطاب کیا، جس کے بعد جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر مظہر آصف نے صدارتی خطاب کیا۔

تقریب کے دوران 'بہترین مقالے کے ایوارڈ'اور اسناد کی تقسیم کا سلسلہ بھی عمل میں آیا جس کا مقصد کانفرنس کے دوران پیش کی گئی نمایاں تحقیقی خدمات کا اعتراف کرنا تھا۔ 'مجموعی طور پر بہترین کانفرنس پیپر' کا ایوارڈ گریٹر نوئیڈا کی آئی آئی ایل ایم (IILM) یونیورسٹی کے ڈاکٹر بلال خان اور ڈاکٹر کیفی اعظم کو ان کے مقالے’امپیکٹ آف جی ایس ٹی آن بینکنگ سیکٹر ڈولپمنٹ: ایویڈینس فرام اسٹیٹ لیول پینل ڈیٹا ان انڈیا‘کو دیا گیا۔

جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ کے صہیب بشیر اور ڈاکٹر محمد عاطف کو ان کے مقالے ’فرام اسپیکفک کول سیس ٹو ایڈ ویلوریم جی ایس ٹی: ایکزامننگ انڈیاز امپلی سٹ کاربن پرائس سگنل اینڈ فرم لیول امیشین انٹینسٹی‘ کو 'دوسرے بہترین مقالے کا ایوارڈ' دیا گیا۔

علی گڑھ مسلم یونیورسٹی کے شہباز احمد خان، ندیم خان اور ڈاکٹر محمد سعیم خان کو ان کے مقالے "GST and the Digital Economy: Examining Youth Digital Startup Intentions in India through Digital Readiness, Financial Literacy, and Entrepreneurial Motivation" کے لیے تیسرے بہترین مقالے کا ایوارڈ' دیا گیا۔

تقریب کا اختتام شریک کنوینر ڈاکٹر اظہار احمد کے کلماتِ تشکر اور اس کے بعد قومی ترانے پر ہوا۔
