From heritage to hustle: What our students actually took back from a Corporate Visit to Ahujasons ✨

On April 9, 2026, students from RDIAS visited Ahujasons Shawlwale, felicitated by the CII Young Indians Forum. An interaction with the founder, Mr. Kulbhushan Ahuja, and Ms. Ursh*ta turned into a sharp, outcome-driven learning experience on how legacy businesses scale with relevance.

The visit offered rich, outcome-oriented learning for students, highlighting how entrepreneurial resilience, shaped by the founder’s journey through extreme adversity, builds grit and long-term vision. It reinforced that family businesses thrive not merely on legacy but on structured strategies with clearly defined roles across functions.

The visit clearly shifted perspectives...from seeing heritage businesses as 'traditional' to understanding them as 'strategically evolved, resilient, and future-ready enterprises'.

📚 Want to explore this space further? ⭐
The Rukmini Devi Institute of Advanced Studies (RDIAS) Library houses insightful reads on family business and legacy management. A must-read is 'The 10 Commandments for Family Business' by Prof. Kavil Ramachandran, a powerful guide offering practical wisdom applicable across every stage of a family business lifecycle.

After all, legacy doesn’t slow you down; if managed well, it becomes your strongest moat!!
