Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), Sector 5, Rohini, organised an industrial visit to Delhi International Cargo Terminal Pvt. Ltd., Sonipat, Haryana for the students of PGDM-International Business.

The visit was organised with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to the functioning of a dry port and its role in facilitating efficient logistics and supply chain operations. Students gained firsthand insights into various processes involved in cargo handling, transportation, warehousing, documentation and the movement of goods through an integrated logistics network.

The visit enabled students to understand how theoretical concepts related to operations management, logistics, inventory management and supply chain coordination are implemented in a real-world industrial environment. The interaction and on-site exposure helped students appreciate the importance of operational efficiency, coordination and technology in ensuring the smooth movement of cargo.

The Dry Port Visit served as a valuable experiential learning opportunity, bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry practices. It enhanced students’ understanding of modern logistics infrastructure and provided them with a broader perspective on the strategic role of dry ports in domestic and international trade.

The PGDM Retail Management Department at JIMS Rohini hosted an insightful Alumni Guest Lecture titled A Day in the Life of a Store Manager at Fossil Group: Driving Sales, Teams & Customer Experience for PGDM Retail Management students by Ms. Vandana Singh, PGDM Retail Management alumna (2015–2017) and Store Manager at Fossil Group, Inc.

Students gained practical insights into store operations, sales management, team leadership, inventory, and customer experience. The interactive session highlighted how effective communication, employee motivation and personalised customer service drive retail success.

Mr. Mustapha Jawara, High Commissioner, Republic of The Gambia, as the distinguished speaker.

The session was conducted by Mr. Tarun Kehair, CFA and FRM Coach, with the objective of providing students with practical insights and industry exposure beyond the classroom. who brought valuable industry-oriented perspectives to the evolving landscape of accounting and business reporting.

The session focused on how rapid technological advancements are transforming traditional accounting practices and reshaping the way organisations generate, analyse, and communicate financial information. Mr. Kehair highlighted the growing significance of digital tools, automation, data analytics, and technology-driven reporting systems in enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, transparency, and accessibility of business reporting.
