𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝟮𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

The National Institute of Disaster Management ( ), Southern Campus, Vijayawada, successfully concluded the 𝟮𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 ( ) from 5th to 16th October, 2026. The programme aimed to strengthen participants’ knowledge and skills in disaster preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery to promote disaster-resilient communities. It brought together 58 participants representing various States and departments.

🔹 The Valedictory Session commenced with the Welcome Address and Programme Report by 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗶 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗷𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿, 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿, 𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠, highlighting the key activities, technical sessions, expert interactions and practical learning experiences during the course.

🔹 𝗖𝗼𝗹. 𝗣. 𝗦. 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗱𝘆, 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀, delivered the Valedictory Address, emphasising institutional capacity building, interdepartmental coordination and the effective application of disaster risk management strategies.

🔹𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿, 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱, 𝗚𝗠𝗥𝗗, 𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠, delivered the Special Address, highlighting continuous learning, capacity building and collaborative efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and resilience.

🔹The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗶 𝗥𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿, 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿, 𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠, who expressed his gratitude to the dignitaries, resource persons, participants, and organising team for their valuable contributions to the successful conduct of the programme.

The programme provided a platform for knowledge sharing, professional development and experience-based learning, reinforcing NIDM’s commitment to strengthening disaster risk management capacities and building a disaster-resilient India.

NIDM successfully concluded the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 from 12th to 16th October, 2026 at Delhi Campus. The programme focused on strengthening technical and institutional capacity for formulating, reviewing and updating comprehensive District Disaster Management Plans in line with the Disaster Management Act, 2005. The programme brought together 40 participants from 20 States/UTs and was coordinated by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮 𝗔𝗴𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗹, 𝗦𝗿. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁, 𝗥𝗜𝗗, 𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠.

🧹 स्वच्छता के प्रति सजगता, स्वस्थ वातावरण की दिशा में कदम 🌿

स्वच्छता के महत्व के प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ाने और स्वच्छ एवं स्वस्थ वातावरण को बढ़ावा देने के उद्देश्य से राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन संस्थान (एनआईडीएम), गृह मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार के दक्षिण परिसर (विजयवाड़ा) में स्वच्छता अभियान आयोजित किया गया।

अभियान के अंतर्गत परिसर के अधिकारियों, संकाय सदस्यों, कर्मचारियों एवं सफाई कर्मचारियों ने सक्रिय योगदान दिया। इस पहल के माध्यम से स्वच्छता, स्वच्छ वातावरण बनाए रखने और इसके प्रति सामूहिक जिम्मेदारी के महत्व को रेखांकित किया गया।

स्वच्छता न केवल स्वस्थ वातावरण के लिए आवश्यक है, बल्कि यह सुरक्षित एवं सुव्यवस्थित कार्यस्थल के निर्माण में भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती है। एनआईडीएम स्वच्छता, पर्यावरण संरक्षण एवं सतत् विकास को बढ़ावा देने के ऐसे हर प्रयास में अपना सक्रिय योगदान देता रहेगा।

The National Institute of Disaster Management ( ), Southern Campus, Vijayawada, observed the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 ( ) 2026 on 13th October 2026, focusing on household preparedness and community resilience. The programme brought together 84 women government officials from various line departments, highlighting women’s leadership in disaster risk reduction in alignment with Agenda Point 3 of the Prime Minister’s Ten-Point Agenda on DRR. The programme was coordinated by 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿, 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱, 𝗚𝗠𝗥𝗗, 𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠.

𝗜𝗻𝗮𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:

🔸 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿, welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the importance of household and community-level preparedness.

🔸 𝗖𝗼𝗹. 𝗣. 𝗦. 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗱𝘆, Joint Director, NIDM Southern Campus, highlighted the importance of disaster risk reduction, preparedness and coordinated efforts to strengthen resilience.

🔸 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗶 𝗥𝗮𝗷𝘂 𝗜𝘆𝗲𝗿, ANU College of Arts, highlighted social inclusion, community participation and the role of women and families in disaster resilience.

🔸 𝗗𝗿. 𝗞. 𝗡𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗻𝗮, Director, IMD, Amaravati, highlighted the importance of weather forecasting, early warning systems and timely action in reducing disaster risks.

Participants gained practical knowledge of fire safety, first response, CPR, basic life-saving skills, timely action on official early warnings and the preparation of family disaster management plans.

Painting and Slogan-Writing Competitions were held for school students to promote disaster awareness and preparedness. A total of 83 students from Classes 1–10 participated across three age groups: Classes 1–4, Classes 5–7 and Classes 8–10. Through their creative expressions, the young participants highlighted household safety, disaster preparedness and environmental awareness, reinforcing the role of children in promoting a culture of safety and building disaster-resilient families and communities.

The session brought together 2,058 participants from Himachal Pradesh, 815 from Punjab and 3,022 from West Bengal, representing Panchayats across the three States.

The webinar focused on promoting risk-informed, resilient and disaster-prepared local development planning, emphasising the integration of Disaster Risk Reduction into grassroots-level planning and development.

The National Institute of Disaster Management ( ), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India is organising a webinar on “𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀” to explore the importance of psychosocial support in disaster situations.

𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠 𝗢𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

The National Institute of Disaster Management ( ) observed the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 ( ) on 13th October 2026 with the theme “𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲”, highlighting the need for individuals, families and communities to understand local risks and take proactive measures to reduce disaster impacts. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from NCC, NSS, NYKS, Bharat Scouts & Guides, representatives from various departments of 20 States/UTs participating in the Training Programme on Formulation of District Disaster Management Plan at NIDM, and students from various colleges and universities. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗗𝗿. 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗮𝗷 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿, 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿, 𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠 & 𝗰𝗼-𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗿𝗸𝗮𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗵𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗮𝗿, 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿, 𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠.

𝗜𝗻𝗮𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:

🔸 Delivering the Inaugural Address, 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗵𝘂𝗽 𝗩𝘆𝗮𝘀, 𝗜𝗔𝗦, 𝗘𝗗, 𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠, underlined the importance of disaster resilience in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047 & active community participation in disaster risk reduction.

🔸 The inaugural session commenced with a Welcome Address by 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝗶 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗻, 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱, 𝗥𝗜𝗗, 𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠.

🔸 𝗠𝘀. 𝗡𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗮 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗻, 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿 (𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻), 𝗖𝗕𝗖, encouraged officials to undertake NIDM’s DRR courses available on the iGOT Karmayogi portal to strengthen preparedness and resilience.

🔸 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗹, 𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠, underlined the importance of earthquake-safe buildings, preparedness & resilient infrastructure, urging citizens to adopt a proactive approach to DRR.

🔸 𝗠𝘀. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗸𝗵𝗮 𝗬𝗮𝗱𝗮𝘃, 𝗜𝗔𝗦, 𝗗𝗠, emphasised that resilience starts at the family level, urging households and youth to promote preparedness & community resilience.

🔸 𝗖𝗼𝗹. 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮, 𝗝𝗗, 𝗡𝗜𝗗𝗠, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, participants & NIDM organising team.

𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱:

🔸 Mainstreaming DRR in Volunteer Organisations chaired by Dr. Krishna S. Vatsa, Member & HoD, NDMA; with Sh. Raj Kumar Kaushik, NPM, BSG; Sh. Komal Singh Chaudhary, Youth Officer, NSS; Sh. Amit Pathak, 16th BN NDRF & Prof. Shailesh Agrawal.

🔸 Community Focused Programmes: Good Practices chaired by Former ED, NIDM, Shri Rajendra Ratnoo, IAS (retd.) with the panellists Prof. Prabhash Pandey (retd.), RLAC, DU; Shri Anuj Tiwari, Sr. Consultant, NDMA; Lt Col. Dr. Praveen Kumar Reddy, SVHMS; and Dr. Mukta Girdhar, DRR Expert, DDMA.

🔸 Painting & Slogan Writing Competition were also held for creating awareness of DRR among the students of different colleges.

🧹 स्वच्छ परिसर, स्वस्थ वातावरण 🌿

राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन संस्थान (एनआईडीएम), गृह मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार में स्वच्छ, स्वस्थ एवं सुरक्षित परिसर बनाए रखने को प्राथमिकता दी जाती है। संस्थान के परिसर में नियमित साफ-सफाई और स्वच्छता बनाए रखने पर विशेष ध्यान दिया जाता है।

स्वच्छ परिसर न केवल कार्यस्थल को साफ-सुथरा और व्यवस्थित रखता है, बल्कि एक स्वस्थ एवं सकारात्मक वातावरण बनाने में भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है। परिसर की स्वच्छता बनाए रखना हम सभी की सामूहिक जिम्मेदारी है।

एनआईडीएम स्वच्छता के प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ाने और स्वच्छ कार्यस्थल की संस्कृति को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। आइए, हम सभी मिलकर अपने परिसर को स्वच्छ, सुरक्षित और स्वस्थ बनाए रखने में योगदान दें। 🌱
