Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Between Dyal Singh Evening College, University of Delhi, and Nam Can Tho University: A Gateway to New Horizons
In a significant move toward international educational collaboration, Dyal Singh Evening College, University of Delhi, India, and Nam Can Tho University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 26, 2024, for a period of five years, during the Namaste Vietnam Festival, held from August 24 to 26, 2024. The event was dedicated to enhancing bilateral ties and fostering cultural and educational exchanges between India and Vietnam.
The Namaste Vietnam Festival was the third edition in a series initiated in 2022. The festival aimed to strengthen the educational and cultural bonds between the two nations, with a focus on mutual cooperation and friendship. The event saw participation from 28 Indian universities and 17 Vietnamese institutions, reflecting a shared commitment to educational collaboration.
Dyal Singh Evening College was the only institution from the University of Delhi to sign an MoU at this prestigious event. The invitation for this event was extended by the Indian Consulate, and it was an honour for the Principal, Prof. Bhawna Pandey and her delegation, which included five faculty members of the Institutional Collaboration Committee Prof Brati Biswas (Convenor), Prof Shivani Singh, Prof Madhuri Chawla, Dr Neeru Rana and Dr Naseem Akhtar, to participate. The signing ceremony, held at an event hosted by the Indian Consulate, marked a proud moment for the college as it joined forces with Nam Can Tho University to promote educational and cultural ties. Principal Prof. Bhawna Pandey represented the college, while Dr. Tran Thi Thu, Vice Rector of Nam Can Tho University, signed on behalf of his institution. This was a significant step taken by the college to extend the global vision of its founder Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia. It extends the rich history and heritage of the college of imparting and promoting education, beginning from the pre-Partition Lahore, to Delhi in India, and now on to the global stage. The Chairman, Prof. B. K. Kuthiala, appreciated this pioneering move made by the Principal of the college, and encouraged the institution to take this exemplary vision forward
