The United Nations Charter is the foundation of global governance, yet its enforcement
mechanisms—especially Chapters VI, VII, and VIII—have long sparked debate. From peaceful
dispute resolution to military intervention, the UNSC’s authority is both indispensable and
controversial. Do these provisions ensure international stability, or do they enable selective
action and geopolitical influence? In the Special Committee on the UN Charter, delegates will critically examine the legal, political,
and ethical dimensions of these chapters.
Diplomacy is in your hands—will you reinforce the mandate or rewrite the rules?

The Disarmament and International Security Committee
(DISEC) stands at the forefront of global peace and stability, tackling some of the most
pressing security threats of our time. This year, our agenda delves into the challenges of
nuclear non-proliferation, with a special emphasis on the geopolitical volatility of the
Middle East and the implications of strategic deterrence.
From the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) to emerging nuclear
doctrines, delegates will navigate the intricate balance between national security, regional
power dynamics, and global disarmament efforts. How does the principle of deterrence
shape Middle Eastern geopolitics? What role do international bodies play in preventing
nuclear escalation? Are existing frameworks sufficient, or do they need urgent reform?
The decisions made in DISEC today shape the security of tomorrow—are you ready to
take on the challenge?

The 2030 Agenda adopted by the UN in 2015 emphasizes
interdisciplinary approaches to advancing sustainable development by focusing on
eradicating poverty (SDG 1), promoting economic growth (SDG 😎, and reducing
inequality (SDG 10). It aims to balance economic, social, and environmental factors to
ensure equitable, inclusive, and sustainable development for all by 2030.
The deliberation upon this agenda will address the issue in a manner which is sensitive to
both the Global North and Global South. The goal of the committee will be to find
solutions that would be flexible and cohesive as the dynamics of the problems faced by
each of them is quite different.

In today’s digital age, artificial intelligence is revolutionizing our world—but it also empowers
cybercriminals to launch sophisticated, borderless attacks. This agenda challenges us to confront the escalating threat of AI-driven cybercrime by fostering international cooperation and
establishing robust cybersecurity frameworks. The UNODC committee will explore how
technological progress can both drive innovation and introduce vulnerabilities that compromise
data integrity, economic stability, and national security.
At Confero '25, delegates are expected to critically assess existing legal frameworks, analyze
emerging cyber threats, and propose pragmatic, forward-thinking solutions. Your research,
diplomatic acumen, and strategic insights will be vital in shaping policies that secure our digital
future. Step up, engage in spirited debate, and lead the charge in redefining global cybersecurity.
The time to act is now—join us and shape a safer digital era!

The committee revolves around the situation of women in
terror-impacted regions, particularly in Afghanistan, remains dire, as they face systemic
oppression and violence in the wake of prolonged conflict. In regions like Afghanistan,
women endure not only the devastating effects of war but also deeply entrenched cultural
and societal barriers. The rise of extremist groups has exacerbated their suffering,
limiting access to education, healthcare, and basic human rights. Despite these
challenges, women in these regions have shown immense resilience, leading efforts in resistance movements, advocating for their rights, and fighting for a better future. Their
struggle against violence and oppression is a powerful reminder of their strength and
determination to create a world of equality and justice, even in the harshest conditions
Join us as we step into the arena of change. Because the status of women isn’t just a committee
agenda—it’s a reflection of who we are and who we aspire to be.

War, displacement, and economic instability continue to challenge nations, leaving
millions without access to basic infrastructure. From Gaza to Sudan, Afghanistan to
Ukraine, conflict and post-conflict zones struggle to rebuild, widening the gap in
equitable development. Roads remain shattered, power grids unstable, and healthcare
inaccessible—hindering recovery and long-term growth.
At UNDP, delegates will tackle these pressing challenges by designing strategies to build
resilient infrastructure that can withstand crises and foster sustainable development in the
world’s most vulnerable regions. How can we ensure inclusive growth, post-war
reconstruction, and infrastructure that serves all?
The future of these communities lies in your hands. Step up, debate, and build solutions
that last.
Note : UNDP is open only to school delegates. Students graduating from school in the
current session are also eligible to participate in this committee.

Waqf Boards: Balancing Religious Trusts, Public Interest, and Legal
Frameworks. Waqf Boards manage religious endowments for charitable and community
welfare purposes. Their role involves ensuring proper utilization while balancing
religious obligations and public interests. Given the significant assets involved, legal
frameworks regulate their administration to prevent misuse and enhance transparency.
However, challenges like mismanagement and political influence often arise.
Strengthening governance and accountability through reforms can help preserve the
essence of Waqf properties while ensuring they serve both religious and societal needs
effectively.
The committee will examine issues such as governance, transparency, and accountability while
exploring potential reforms. Expect debates on the legal complexities of Waqf properties, their
socio-economic impact, and the challenges of political influence.

The All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM) will assess the
employment generation strategies in the Union Budget 2025. With rising unemployment,
the budget emphasizes economic growth, infrastructure, and industrial expansion to drive
job creation. Key sectors like manufacturing, digital economy, and MSMEs have received
increased allocations to boost entrepreneurship and skill development. Delegates will
critically analyze resource allocation, implementation challenges, and the long-term
viability of these initiatives. The focus will be on sustainable, market-driven solutions
that create lasting employment while ensuring economic stability.

The Sub-Saharan region in Africa has had a history of extremism and violence for decades.
When violence seeps in, people's human rights get violated. In the light of the recent events in
Democratic Republic of the Congo we get to see the Rwanda backed M23 rebel group take the
offensive route. This resurgence has led to renewed clashes and a deteriorating security situation.
This conflict has resulted in severe humanitarian crisis resulting in mass killings, sexual
violence, child soldier recruitment, and the displacement of thousands.
The committee's agenda will revolve around the deliberation regarding the recent developments
in The Democratic Republic of Congo but won't limit itself to it. The role of neighbouring
countries will also be given special emphasis by drawing the overall picture of the historical
trend of extremism and violence in the Sub-Saharan region of Africa and how it is affecting
human lives in a negative manner.

In the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), delegates will take on the challenge of
redefining food systems—exploring sustainable agriculture, ethical livestock production, and
eco-friendly aquaculture to strike a balance between feeding the world and preserving nature.
The way we produce food is pushing our planet to the brink—deforestation, soil degradation,
excessive water use, and greenhouse gas emissions are wreaking havoc on ecosystems.
Unsustainable agricultural practices, industrial livestock farming, and harmful aquaculture
methods are accelerating climate change and biodiversity loss at an alarming rate. Can
innovation, policy reform, and global cooperation pave the way for a greener, more resilient
future?
