Semester progress at JD is all about taking ideas beyond the classroom and bringing them to life. ✨

Every semester, our students engage in increasingly hands-on projects, using their semester evaluations as opportunities to transform research, concepts and conversations into tangible, physical forms.

This semester, students were invited to explore the powerful themes of sustainability and body dysmorphia — questioning, researching and expressing their perspectives through design.

The result? Thoughtful, bold and deeply personal outcomes that turn ideas into experiences and give us all something to pause, reflect on and applaud. 👏🌱

Interior design doesn’t end when the sketch is done.

In the industry, every design has to meet reality; budgets, technicalities, site conditions, supervision, clients and seniors.

As Vansh Dhingra, Interior Design alumnus, shared at Orientation 2026, the process involves rethinking, reworking and sometimes starting over.
Because great design isn’t just about having an idea.
It’s about making it work.

At Orientation 2026, Bhawya Suri shared a reminder every design student needs to hear: don’t wait for the “right time” to begin.

Your first year is enough. Your second year is enough. You don’t need to wait until graduation, a job, or the perfect opportunity.

Make a plan. Take the first step. Start where you are.

Because the biggest obstacle between you and your dream can sometimes be the decision to “start later.”

At Orientation 2026, our Fashion Design alumna and designer, Aakanksha Jain, gave our students a glimpse into the side of the fashion industry that rarely makes it to the spotlight.

Behind every glamorous look, runway, and finished collection are long hours, endless iterations, problem-solving, and a whole lot of work that no one sees.

Because the glamour is only the final frame. The real story is everything it takes to get there.

What if your next college project could land you a ₹5 lacs client?
Sounds impossible? Bhawya Suri’s story proves otherwise.

At Orientation 2026, our Fashion Design alumna and designer shared how a piece she created simply to push herself creatively caught the attention of an international buyer and became a ₹5 lakh project.

That one project brought more than revenue. It brought visibility, credibility, and new clients.
Because in design, you never know where one good piece of work can take you and your next client, opportunity, or breakthrough can start with your next project.

Curiosity should never die. It should become your biggest creative advantage.

At Orientation 2026, our Director Akshara Ma’am, shared a thought every young creative needs to carry forward: stay curious, keep questioning, and never stop exploring.
Because in a creative career, the questions you ask can shape the things you create.

From JD classroom to building a fashion label of her own - Bhawya Suri is coming back to where it all began. ✨

A Fashion Design alumna from the Class of 2020, Bhawya is a designer and entrepreneur who has turned her creative vision into Bhawya Suri Couture and Bhawya Suri Productions.

Her journey brings together design, garment development, sampling, manufacturing, content and education - but more than that, it reflects what happens when you choose to build something of your own, early on.

From being a student figuring out her creative voice to becoming a young entrepreneur shaping her own space in fashion, Bhawya’s journey is one that our students can see themselves in.

Now, she returns to JD Institute as a Panelist at Orientation 2026, ready to share the real lessons of building a career - and a brand - from the ground up.

From JD student to a young entrepreneur. Welcome back, Bhawya!
