La VOICE is the first independent newspaper of Kirori Mal College. We aim to connect different departments, societies and members of KMC.

“La VOICE” is the first independent newspaper of Kirori Mal College. We aim to establish effective networking between different departments, societies as well as staff and students, thereby facilitating productive collaboration among them. This initiative will provide a platform to different societies to promote themselves and will keep the students informed about the events happening in the colle

ge campus.

“La VOICE” could give an advantage to students by providing them with an opportunity to better equip themselves with the events happening in college and give voice to the ideas of individuals. “La VOICE” will also give its members a great platform to grow as an individual and learn from the work they do for its growth in their future.

Goodbyes do not arrive all at once; rather, they take time to settle. During the last walk through the corridor that once felt endless, laughter lingers a moment longer, as if it knows it is about to become a memory. Farewell is not simply about the act of leaving; it represents all that we carry with us as we go.

Perhaps, there is a certain intimacy in the act of letting go. It invites one to recognise attachments, to accept that something or someone has left a significant mark on our lives. In doing so, one reshapes how they carry those memories into the future. After all, what is nostalgia if not proof of moments well spent?

Now, as one steps through these doors, a sense of excitement fills the air, of all the adventures that await us in the future. As we bid goodbye to yesterday, it is comforting to know that a piece of it will remain with us, cherished in our hearts.

It gives us immense pleasure to announce the release of LA VOICE, the official newsletter of Kirori Mal College, for January 2026. The issue was formally released by our esteemed Principal, Prof. Dinesh Khattar on 23rd March 2026.
La Voice is a monthly newsletter of Kirori Mal College that highlights the academic achievements and activities of both students and faculty.

We extend our gratitude to our respected Principal for his constant guidance and support. We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to the our Convenor, Dr. Satyendera Srivastav for his encouragement and direction throughout the process.

Such a change in season manifests itself in more than just shedding of leaves and blooming of flowers; it is found in our own internal shifts and renewal. Moreover, as the sun exudes its radiant warmth, a welcoming positive energy spreads in the atmosphere. The freshness of spring does not only surround us, it seeps into our spirit uplifting and energizing us for new beginnings. At its core, it is a time when even the simplest moments carry a refreshing spirit, perhaps a gentle reminder from nature that change is a continuous unfolding.

The month of February arrives with its grand expressions of love. However, the language of love, in its most raw form, extends far beyond definition. It resides in the spaces between our routines, in moments so simple that one rarely stops to notice them. The essence of love lingers in the warmth of a morning cup of coffee, drifts through the faint fragrance of the flowers lining the roadside, and even plays in the familiar melody that keeps us company in a hectic metro ride.

Moreover, love is a language understood across cultures, generations and identities. In the end, love has a way of reaching us more often than we reach for it. Under this theme, we look at the nuanced and diverse love that surrounds us constantly- beyond definition and beyond conventions. Because, what is love, if not memory and hope persevering.

In this issue, we invite you to explore love as something that is always around us—constant, sincere, and deeply present. Through poems, short fiction, letters, personal/photo essays, photographs, comics, or illustrations, capture the ways in which love reveals itself in the ordinary.

With the arrival of January, we look forward to change: resolutions, challenges and the promise of becoming a new version of ourselves. Yet, change is not always about adding something new to our lives. More often, it lies in leaving behind and learning to let go. The art of leaving behind is rarely celebrated and is deeply personal. It embodies itself in the courage to say no, in realising that some connections belong to our former chapter of ourselves. The space created by letting go does not leave behind emptiness as life realigns it to fit our purpose.

Leaving behind is not merely loss or erasure. Oftentimes, it is an act of self-belief and choosing growth and change over the comfort of the familiarity. As the new year dawns, we stand at the delicate juncture between who we are and who we aspire to become. What we leave behind does not vanish without meaning, instead, it clears the path forward and makes space for what is yet to come. With the art of letting go one learns to trust oneself, and begin to see the year ahead as an opportunity to outgrow the confines we once placed upon ourselves.
