Aerostars, UAV R&D Society | Mechanical Engineering Department, MAIT

✈️ Visit by Japanese Delegation | 8th April 2026

Aerostars had the privilege of hosting a distinguished delegation of Japanese professionals at our UAV R&D laboratory.

The visit featured live demonstrations of our key projects, including a quadcopter drone, fixed-wing aircraft, battlebot, and a line-following robot. The delegation also explored our advanced simulation facility, where members systematically build flight hours across multiple UAV platforms.

We further presented our ongoing research and development initiatives, highlighting in-house efforts toward designing a custom flight controller, telemetry module, and Field-Oriented Control (FOC) based Electronic Speed Controller (ESC).

The interaction fostered meaningful technical exchange and provided valuable insights, strengthening our commitment to innovation and global collaboration in UAV technologies.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT), organized an industrial visit to Pragati Power Corporation Limited (PPCL), Bawana on 28th February 2026. ⚙️⚡

Students had the opportunity to observe the functioning of the Pragati-III Combined Cycle Power Plant, one of India’s largest gas-based power plants with an installed capacity of 1500 MW. The plant operates using advanced Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) technology, integrating gas turbines, heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), and steam turbines to enhance overall efficiency.

During the visit, students gained practical insights into gas and steam turbine–based power generation, plant automation through SCADA systems, and sustainable engineering practices such as wastewater reuse and emission reduction strategies. The use of treated water from the Rithala Sewage Treatment Plant and natural gas/RLNG as fuel reflects the plant’s commitment to environmentally responsible power generation.

Such industrial interactions play a crucial role in bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world engineering applications, strengthening students’ understanding of modern power plant technologies.

The department expresses sincere gratitude to the management and technical staff of PPCL for their guidance and for facilitating this valuable learning experience.
