Today we at JDMC remembered Dr Kusum Krishna ,a distinguished founding member of the college and the former Chairperson of the Governing Body.
Through her long association of 66 years with JDMC, Dr Krishna left an indelible mark on the college. Her passion and vision for empowerment of women and excellence in education has played a great part in shaping JDMC.
We bowed our heads in eternal gratitude, love and respect for the revered soul.
Our Principal Prof Pal reminisced upon her association with Dr Krishna and the many experiences through which she learnt the art of administration from Dr Kusum Krishna The bond of love, admiration respect and appreciation shared by them is truly remarkable.
We were joined by Mr Aditya Krishna, Chairman of the Banarsidas Chandiwala Sewa Smarak Trust Society and the Chairperson of the Governing Body, Ms Anuradha Krishna whose personal narratives brought a tear to every eye, while filling all hearts with awe on learning about the multi faceted persona that was Dr Kusum Krishna.
The event also featured tributes from Staff Association President, retired faculty, and the Director of JDVC. Everybody recounted their experiences with Dr Krishna, remembering her many acts of generosity, kindness and sincerity. She will forever remain etched on our heart as a guiding light for the Janki Devi Memorial College parivar. May her soul rest in peace. May we carry forward her legacy to greater glory.

Her inspiring journey, deep commitment to education, and unwavering dedication to the values of JDMC have left an indelible mark on generations of students, teachers, and colleagues.

We will come together to remember Dr. Kusum Krishna, we will celebrate a life that continues to guide and inspire us. Her vision, grace, and leadership will forever remain an integral part of the JDMC family.

To honour Constitution Day, 2025, the Principal and non teaching staff of Janki Devi Memorial College, were given a brief introduction to the constitution of India and its significance was explained to all by Dr Kaushal Kishore, the Sr Administrative officer of the college.

Thereafter the Preamble was read by all as a solemn pledge to the nation in both Hindi and English.

Janki Devi Memorial college under the aegis of Electoral Literacy club and National Cadet corps celebrated the 76th Constitution Day also known as 'Samvidhan Divas'.

It is celebrated in our country on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect from 26th January 1950.
" Tracing the journey - The making of the Indian Constitution seminar was conducted which looked back into the key milestones of the constitution and the eminent actors in the process. The presentation included a pictorial display of the pictures of the key actors in this process. It was an enriching session by the speaker Dr Khurshid Alam which ended with an enthusiastic participation of more than 80 students and many faculty members.

जानकी देवी मेमोरियल कॉलेज की अल्युमनाय असोसियेशन पूर्व छात्र संघ ने एक अनौपचारिक वार्ता और कॉलेज टूर का आयोजन 19 नवंबर, 2025 को किया हमारी पूर्व छात्राओं को एक साथ लाने एकत्रित करने संगठित करने का संकल्प लिया। उन्हें फिर से जुड़ने के लिए एक सार्थक मंच के रूप में संयोजित यादों को साझा करने , और विविध उपलब्धियों का जश्न मनाने तथा हमारे पूर्व छात्राओं के लिए एक समृद्ध अनुभव था
असोसिएशन की उप अध्यक्ष डॉ शारदा गौतम ने टीका करके अभिनंदन स्वागत कियाऔर पूर्व छात्राओं को बड़ी गर्मजोशी से बधाई दी। प्रिंसिपल प्रोफेसर स्वाति पाल जी के साथ अंतरंग बातचीत, जो साथ बैठकी हुई पूर्व छात्राओं ने कॉलेज में अपने समय को याद करते हुए स्मृतियों को साझा किया। प्रिंसिपल मैडम ने पूर्व छात्रों का नेतृत्व किया कैंपस टूर। पूरे परिसर को चलते हुये , और नव विकसित कक्षों जैसे ही उन्होंने तुलना की पूर्व और वर्तमान वातावरण के साथ कि यह अपने स्वयं के कॉलेज के दौरान कैसा दिखता था कई लोगों ने समय के साथ संस्थान को बढ़ते हुए देखकर ख़ुशी व्यक्त की, यादों को प्यार से याद करते हुए परिवर्तनों की सराहना करना परिसर के प्रत्येक भाग से जुड़ा हुआ है। प्रिंसिपल मैडम और वाइस प्रिंसिपल मैम प्रोफेसर संध्या गर्ग जी के संबोधन के बाद
अकादमिक विकास पर मूल्यवान विचार साझा किए,
कैरियर विकास, और पूर्व छात्र नेटवर्क का महत्व। फिर एक प्रार्थना के साथ सत्र शुरू हुआ, उसके बाद एक आत्मीयता पूर्ण संगीत विभाग और सारंग संगीत सोसायटी द्वारा प्रदर्शन, नेतृत्व में भाव्या मैडम द्वारा संगीत प्रस्तुति ने पूरे वातावरण को पूर्व छात्राओं और प्रिंसिपल मैडम के साथ सम्मिलित होकर पूरे दिल से जुड़े हर पल को जीवंत बनाना और यादगार बनाया गया। प्रिंसिपल मैडम ने एक कॉफ़ी टेबल बुक के साथ सूरजमुखी पुष्प के साथ पूर्व छात्रों को सम्मानित किया स्नेह के प्रतीक के रूप में किताब, एक प्रमाण पत्र, और एक हस्तनिर्मित क्रोकेट टोकन प्रशंसा पत्र वितरित किये गये समारोह की गर्मजोशी ने संबंधों की पूरी गहराई को उजागर किया उनकी यात्राएँ - शिक्षाविदों जैसे क्षेत्रों में फैले हुए हैं, बैंकिंग, अभिनय, डेटा विज्ञान, सार्वजनिक नीति, और बहुत कुछ - वास्तव में प्रेरक सत्र बेहद व्यावहारिक साबित हुआ, पूर्व छात्रों के रूप में वास्तविक के आधार पर व्यावहारिक मार्गदर्शन और प्रेरक सलाह की पेशकश की. उनका विनम्र स्वभाव, स्पष्टता और इच्छा शक्ति ने उपस्थित सभी पर एक स्थायी छाप छोड़ी। पूरा आयोजन एक गहरा अनुभव समृद्ध ज्ञान प्रद रहा प्रेरणा, और अपनेपन की एक मज़बूत भावना। असोसिएशन की उप अध्यक्ष डॉ शारदा गौतम जी ने औपचारिक आभार व्यक्त करते हुए सबके बीच स्थायी संबंधों का जश्न मनाते हुए कॉलेज और पूर्व छात्राओं का यथोचित धन्यवाद दिया।

Centre for International and National Programmes of Janki Devi Memorial College, University of Delhi organised a One-day National Conference titled "Virtual Reality : The Way Ahead" on 13 November 2025 at India International Centre, New Delhi.

Researchers, scholars and faculty members from all over the country gathered for stimulationg deliberations on the diverse role of virtual reality in our lives and it's potential to shape the future of humanity.

Prof. Swati Pal, Principal, JDMC, in her opening remarks welcomed all the participants and emphasized on the importance of having a moral conscience and ethics in the age of artificial intelligence and evolving realities.
Dr. Kush Kumar Gayasen, IQAC Coordinator, JDMC, in his address highlighted the significance of imagination in this age where we are consuming data and information like never before in the history of human civilisation.

Along with Prof. Swati Pal, the panelists for the inaugural session were Prof. Brijesh Lal. IIT Delhi, Dr. Arun Kumar Choudhary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and Dr. Abha Yadav, NLU, Delhi who presented their throught provoking and illuminating views on the uses, advantages and challenges of virtual reality in the present times and the varied possibilities in the future.

The inaugural session was followed by three technical sessions with more than twenty presentations on topics like Eco-Cultural memory in the digital age, Reshaping digital technology, AI and Humanism etc.

The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. V. Rajyalakshmi Director, CINP, JDMC, who thanked all the participants and appreciated the contribution of each and every one who helped in making the conference such a huge success.

🌟 AI Course Inauguration at Janki Devi Memorial College 🌟

The Inaugural Ceremony of the 6-Month Short-Term Course on “Applied Artificial Intelligence for All: Foundations to Job-Readiness” was successfully held on 8th November 2025 at Janki Devi Memorial College, University of Delhi, under the aegis of IQAC, in collaboration with Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani.

The event marked the beginning of an exciting academic journey aimed at democratizing AI education by making it accessible to students from all streams Arts, Commerce, and Science and equipping them with job-ready AI skills for today’s digital workforce.

The inaugural session was graced by eminent speakers, including Prof. Navneet Goyal, Prof. Shibani Khanna Jha, Prof. S. K. Barai, Prof. Swati Pal (Principal), Prof. Gopal Singh Phartiyal, and Prof. Yash Sinha, who shared valuable insights on the role of Artificial Intelligence in shaping future careers.

A special thanks to Principal Prof. Swati Pal for her constant support and leadership in taking this initiative forward, and to the IQAC and Faculty Coordinators - Dr. Sonal Jain, Dr. Ravinder Meena, Dr. Tanu Gupta, Ms. Shilpa Maggo, and Mr. Rohit Singh for ensuring the successful commencement of the course.

The first session, “Introduction to AI” by Prof. Gopal Singh Phartiyal, set a positive tone for the upcoming modules on Data Literacy, Python for Everyone, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, NLP, and AI in Industry, followed by capstone projects and career readiness training.

✨ With over 30 enthusiastic students enrolled, this course truly represents a step towards inclusive and future-ready education at JDMC.

Janki Devi Memorial College participated in competitions organized by the Culture Council, University of Delhi, in collaboration with the Faculty of Music & Fine Arts, University of Delhi on 1st, 3rd and 4th November. The college bagged the following prizes:

Radhika Venkatraman– 2nd Prize (Classical Instrumental Solo) – Trophy, Certificate, and prize money of ₹4,000.

Group Song– 3rd Prize – Prize money of ₹8,000, trophies and certificates for each group member.
The students gained a lot of valuable insights and knowledge by watching the performances at the Faculty. They thoroughly enjoyed the competitions and learned a great deal about music.

The students of Janki Devi Memorial College performed exceptionally well and brought home the awards.
