To commemorate Earth Day on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, our school organised engaging and environmentally meaningful activities for Classes VI–VIII under the Go Sharpener initiative. These activities were aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, encouraging environmental awareness and sustainable thinking among students.

Each class participated in a hands-on task—Class VI planned a School Kitchen Garden, understanding the value of growing food sustainably and reducing waste; Class VII created a Little Shade Shelter, learning how simple structures can support biodiversity and provide relief from heat; and Class VIII designed a Carbon Catcher, a creative model demonstrating how natural materials help purify air by trapping dust and pollutants.

Students displayed remarkable enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork while using simple, recyclable materials to build their models. The initiative not only enhanced their understanding of environmental science but also encouraged critical thinking about sustainable practices in daily life.

Through these thoughtfully curated activities, our students learned that small, conscious actions can contribute significantly to protecting our planet and building a sustainable future.

“Every child develops at their own pace; however, recognising their needs at the right time can make a meaningful difference.”

A workshop on Early Signs and Developmental Support in Young Children was conducted on 15 April 2026 by Dr. Sarika Bisarya and Ms. Kavya Malhotra, thoughtfully highlighting the vital role educators play in nurturing and identifying the developmental needs of young learners.

The session gently emphasised the importance of recognising early indicators or ‘red flags’ in areas such as speech, motor skills, social interaction and cognition, enabling timely and meaningful support during these formative years.

It also reinforced how early intervention can positively shape a child’s journey—enhancing school readiness, strengthening learning outcomes, and supporting emotional and behavioural well-being. The workshop encouraged a collaborative partnership between educators, parents, and professionals to create a caring and inclusive environment where every child feels understood, supported and empowered to thrive.
