To commemorate Earth Day on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, our school organised engaging and environmentally meaningful activities for Classes VI–VIII under the Go Sharpener initiative. These activities were aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, encouraging environmental awareness and sustainable thinking among students.
Each class participated in a hands-on task—Class VI planned a School Kitchen Garden, understanding the value of growing food sustainably and reducing waste; Class VII created a Little Shade Shelter, learning how simple structures can support biodiversity and provide relief from heat; and Class VIII designed a Carbon Catcher, a creative model demonstrating how natural materials help purify air by trapping dust and pollutants.
Students displayed remarkable enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork while using simple, recyclable materials to build their models. The initiative not only enhanced their understanding of environmental science but also encouraged critical thinking about sustainable practices in daily life.
Through these thoughtfully curated activities, our students learned that small, conscious actions can contribute significantly to protecting our planet and building a sustainable future.
