National Forensic Sciences University, Delhi Campus is organising a Distinguished Session on “Criminal Jurisdiction in Outer Space” on August 25, 2026.

We are honoured to welcome Prof. (Dr.) Ricky Lee, Professor, University of Notre Dame, Australia, as the distinguished speaker. The session will critically examine the evolving legal framework governing criminal jurisdiction in outer space, with particular focus on the interplay between international space law, criminal jurisdiction, State responsibility, and emerging challenges in the governance of space activities.

A***n Prem Aggarwal, student of School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies, National Forensic Sciences University, Delhi Campus, proudly represented India and NFSU at the South Asian University Games - DOTSWC (Senior Category).

Competing among 12+ countries and 115+ universities, A***n delivered an outstanding performance, clinching 4 Gold Medals, winning the prestigious Best Swimmer Award, and setting 2 National Records in the 200m Freestyle and 100m Butterfly events.

Thirty Officers from BSF GTS visited National Forensic Sciences University, Delhi Campus for orientation to Forensic Science Laboratory Setup and capabilities. The officers were introduced to key forensic domains, including Explosives, Narcotics, Digital Forensics and OSINT tools, Forensic DNA Analysis, Fingerprint and Questioned Document Examination and Forensic Psychology.

Organised under the esteemed supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Campus Director, Prof. (Dr.) Minakshi Sinha, Deputy Director (Training) and coordinated by Dr. Tanvi Yadav and Dr. Neha Tomar, the visit aimed to strengthen scientific investigation in cases related to border security.

The Pro Bono Club, School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies, successfully conducted another engaging session of WEMURSH- Wednesday Mutual Reflection, providing a platform for meaningful dialogue and exchange of ideas among students on the theme "Expanding the Bench: Strengthening Judicial Capacity or Administrative Reform?"

The session explored the recent expansion of the Supreme Court’s sanctioned strength from 34 to 38 judges and encouraged participants to critically examine whether increasing judicial capacity alone can address judicial pendency, or whether broader systemic and administrative reforms are equally necessary.

The session was held under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal (Campus Director & Dean), Dr. Tanvi Yadav (Associate Dean), and Dr. Navtika Singh Nautiyal (Faculty Coordinator, Pro Bono Club).

The School of Management Studies, NFSU, Delhi Campus, organized an institutional visit to Securities Exchange Board of India for the Second-Year students of the BBA-MBA Five-Year Integrated Programme on August 13, 2026.

The visit was highly engaging, informative, and fruitful, providing students with valuable practical insights into the financial market, securities market, regulatory mechanisms, and the role of SEBI. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to students to interact directly with SEBI officials.

We express sincere gratitude to Ms. Deepika Thakur, Officer, SEBI, and all other SEBI officials for their valuable time, guidance, and support.

Today, the newly admitted students of M.Sc. Forensic Science undertook an insightful academic visit to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Delhi. During the visit, students explored various specialized divisions of the laboratory, including Biology, Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, Physics, and Cyber, gaining valuable exposure to the diverse scientific processes involved in forensic investigations.

Students also learned how forensic cases are received and systematically distributed across these divisions based on the nature of evidence, offering a clear understanding of real-world forensic workflows.

This academic excursion proved highly meaningful, deepening students' practical knowledge and strengthening their connection to the field of forensic science.

We extend our gratitude to the Director, Deputy Director (NDPS), and Training Manager, CFSL, Delhi, for their support in making this visit happen. We would also like to thank Dr. Manu Sharma, Associate Dean, School of Forensic Science and Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Campus Director, NFSU, Delhi Campus, for facilitating and encouraging this academic engagement.

Four-day intensive training programme on Advancing Justice through DNA Technology was organised at the National Forensic Sciences University, Delhi Campus bringing together forensic professionals, law enforcement personnel, members of the judiciary, and legal practitioners for an immersive learning experience in modern forensic DNA science.

The programme featured expert lectures, case-based discussions, and visits to forensic science laboratories. Participants gained insights into topics including collection of biological exhibits, biological evidence examination, DNA extraction and quantification, STR profiling, interpretation of complex DNA profiles, quality assurance, statistical evaluation of DNA reports, laboratory best practices, DNA evidence in the criminal justice system, emerging technologies, and recent advancements in forensic genetics.

The course was delivered by subject experts, including Prof. (Dr.) Pankaj Sinha, Dr. Vinita Gupta, Dr. Anupama Raina, Dr. Naresh Kumar, Dr. Suminder Kaur, Dr. Jeet Singh, Dr. Sudhir Sharma, Dr. Tanya Chauhan, Dr. Mukesh Kumar Dudi, and Dr. Rutwik Shedge who shared their knowledge and practical experience, fostering meaningful discussions on the application of DNA technology in criminal investigations and judicial proceedings.

Conducted under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Campus Director and Prof. (Dr.) Minakshi Sinha, Deputy Director (Training) and coordinated by Dr. Tanya Chauhan, Assistant Professor and Dr. Rutwik Shedge, Assistant Professor, the programme concluded with enthusiastic participation and a renewed commitment to strengthening forensic capabilities through scientific excellence and continuous professional development.

We welcome our newest cohort of students at Deeksharambh 2026, the orientation programme marking the beginning of their academic journey filled with learning, discovery, innovation, and purpose for the students of the School of Management Studies, School of Forensic Science, School of Cyber Security & Digital Forensics, School of Behavioural Forensics, and School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Unnat P. Pandit, Controller General, DPIIT; Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Campus Director; Prof. (Dr.) Minakshi Sinha, Deputy Director, Training; and Prof. (Dr.) Basanna Patagundi, Associate Dean, School of Management Studies; and Shri R N Gaekwad, AVSM, VSM, Joint Registrar, NFSU, Delhi Campus.

Prof. (Dr.) Unnat P. Pandit, in his insighteful address, spoke about the diverse avenues at the intersection of law and innovation, encouraging students to expand their horizons of learning, embrace emerging opportunities, leading us to a Viksit Bharat.

Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal welcomed the students to the campus and emphasised the importance of making the most of the multidisciplinary learning that the University offers, for the overall development of the student’s academic journey.

Prof. (Dr.) Minakshi Sinha highlighted the significance of skill development and active engagement in academic and personal pursuits, inspiring students to make their university journey meaningful and enriching.
