Join us for an insightful session by Prof. Ponnurangam Kumaraguru (PK), Visiting Scientist at the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India, and Professor of Computer Science at IIIT Hyderabad.

Titled “Beyond Funding: Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) as a Catalyst & Ecosystem Builder,” the session will explore how ANRF can go beyond research funding to enable, connect, accelerate, and amplify India’s research ecosystem.

Prof. Kumaraguru will share insights into several initiatives and experiments at ANRF that span the research lifecycle, from discovering expertise and improving research processes to communicating research, leveraging AI, and enabling greater societal impact.

The Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), IIIT-Delhi, warmly welcomed its newly joined ECE/EVE students at an event on 14th August 2026.

Organized in collaboration with IEEE Life Members, IEEE IIITD Student Chapter, Centre for Intelligent Product Development (CiPD), and Electroholics, the event offered students an exciting introduction to the vibrant ECE community at IIIT-Delhi.

The day featured engaging hands-on workshops and demonstrations on ESP32, Arduino, automatic night lamps, Morse code, 3D printing, and laser cutting, giving students an opportunity to explore emerging technologies and experiment with electronics and prototyping.

The event also included insightful talks and networking sessions with faculty members and industry professionals, who shared their perspectives on academics, technology, research, industry, and career opportunities.

This welcome event set the stage for an exciting journey ahead for the ECE students.

IIIT-Delhi recently hosted an insightful by Dr. Bushra Ansari, Ph.D. Alumna, Class of 2025, on “Illuminating the Invisible: RF Sensing for Space Surveillance.”

Dr. Ansari shared her journey of evolving her PhD research in GNSS/NavIC Reflectometry into an industry-focused approach towards RF-based Space Situational Awareness (SSA). The session offered fascinating insights into SDR-based RF sensing, delay-Doppler signal processing, and the potential of opportunistic RF signals for detecting non-cooperative objects in space.

Currently working as an RF Engineer at ARCA Dynamics, Rome, Dr. Ansari also shared valuable industry perspectives on the development of RF-based SSA payloads and the transition from terrestrial remote sensing to space surveillance applications.

The session concluded with an engaging interactive Q&A, offering students and participants an opportunity to delve deeper into this exciting intersection of research, technology, and space exploration.

The IIIT-Delhi community came together to celebrate the 80th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.

Before beginning the celebrations, the IIIT-Delhi community observed a two-minute silence in remembrance of its student Darsh Gupta from the B.Tech CSAM programme, who passed away due to cancer. His demise was deeply mourned by all.

The celebrations brought together students, faculty, staff, and campus residents for a morning filled with fitness, community participation through a plantation drive followed by flag hoisting and Director’s address, cultural performances, and moments of patriotic pride. The occasion beautifully reflected the spirit of freedom, unity, and togetherness.

Join us for an exciting on the topic "Illuminating the Invisible: RF Sensing for Space Surveillance".

This time, we are pleased to welcome Dr. Bushra Ansari, our Ph.D. Alumna, Class of 2025, for an insightful session where she will share the evolution of her Ph.D. research in GNSS/NavIC reflectometry into an industry-focused RF-based Space Situational Awareness (SSA) payload. During her Ph.D., she developed techniques for exploiting reflected navigation signals for remote sensing using SDR-based receivers and delay-Doppler signal processing. Building on the same principles of opportunistic RF sensing, this concept is extended to detect non-cooperative objects in space. The talk will highlight the transition from terrestrial remote sensing to space object detection.
