Department of Food Science and Technology, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar invited you to ICFOST-XXV which is going to held in our campus from 10th to 12th November, 2016. Apart from GNDU, AFSTI, CFTRI and DRDO are the organizers. The theme will be “Food Processing for Sustainable Agriculture and Industry (FOOD Pro- SAI). Since Prime ministers raised the cause for adopting “Make in India”, the Agro-processing sector of country also need a new energy so that it can sustain global hunt by Indian manufacture while satisfying the need of nation. Taking into account one of goals of United Nation among 17, Zero Hunger is need of hour providing healthy, safe and affordable foods shall be available for people around the globe. Indian traditional foods can be tools against malnutrition and undernourishment and it is important to mechanize these foods into large scale commercialization. Strengthen the farming community with equal proportion of share into production and marketing with nurturing the spirit of entrepreneurship is also required with same potential.
The Three Day Event consists of Inaugural ceremony, Cultural programs, Technical sessions, Poster Presentation, Food Expo, Student Video Competition, Award ceremony, Souvenir release and many more.
