The discipline of Biochemistry today occupies a pivotal position in teaching and research as it deals with scientific basis of life processes at the molecular level. New advances in biological sciences are only possible with thorough understanding of the underlying principles of Biochemistry. se (six semester) leading to B.Sc. The course include the papers like Biomolecules, Biophysics, Chemistry, Technical Writing & Communication in English / Computational Skills, Biochemical Techniques, Mathematics & Statistics, Proteins & Enzymes, Metabolism of Carbohydrates & Lipids, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioenergetics, Metabolism of Amino acids & Nucleotides, Membrane Biology, Hormone Biochemistry, Immunology, Genetics & Genomics, Molecular Physiology & Recombinant DNA Technology. The department is enriched with all basic infrastructural facilities to meet the requirements for teaching. The department organizes invited lecture, workshops & conferences on regular basis which are sponsored by funding agencies (Government of India) like DST, DBT, CSIR, ICMR & UGC etc. course easily secure admissions in post graduation & now pursuing their careers at national & international universities/institutes. There are six teaching faculty & four staff members in the department. The teaching faculties are specialized in various fields of Biochemistry and have obtained Ph.D degrees from reputed national institutes.
