Nothing is more terrifying than battling with your own mind every single day. True that. Mental illness couldn’T be better explained than defining it as a battle with our own self, wherein we are the warriors battling with ourselves for our own survival. Some loose, some win, it’S a battle within. You may be ill while you are unaware, you may be victimised so beware.
Mental illness is unlike any other disease as the person suffering cannot really explain the battle, the struggle going inside him. What is glitter what is gold? How can a person expected to be treated through medications and prescriptions when he/she don’t even know what is happening? People laugh. People deny to trust you because this illness can’t be seen like any physical injury. People mistake it as incapability.

Every child, every human is unique in itself. Some illness do exist, which can’t be seen, which can’t be put into prescription, which can’t be expressed.
The Department of Finance studies celebrates the day of addressing mental health issues and urge everyone to show compassion and care towards everyone.

A love between a brother and a sister is one of the deepest and noblest of human emotions.

'Raksha Bandhan' is a special occasion to celebrate this emotional bonding when a sister ties a Rakhi - a holy thread - around her brother's wrist, prays for his long life and the brother reciprocates by offering her the gifts she loves the most.

The Department of Financial Studies would like to wish all the brothers and sisters a very happy Rakshabandhan!

As part of the Corporate Leadership Series, the Department of Financial Studies was grateful to have Mr. Prasad Ponkshe , Vice President at State Street, for a session on “Skills required for a Corporate Ready Career”. He started the session by explaining that a student should focus on basic concepts in their studies that would open doors for corporate. He also guided us on how to prepare for the interviews. He explained the importance of mentoring by narrating a beautiful story of a 10-year-old boy whose left hand was missing and who wanted to become a Judo Master. He gave an important piece of advice that problem happens when there is an expectation mismatch in the corporate industry and gave us a brief idea about the problem-oriented approach versus the solution-oriented approach.
The session was concluded with a Q & A session where he cleared all our doubts patiently. We sincerely thank Mr. Prasad Ponkshe for giving such a knowledge-enriching session and look forward to hosting him on the campus once things get back to normal.
