Dear All

As many of you are aware, after almost two years of pandemic induced shift to the online classes, the University of Delhi is now transitioning to offline teaching. Needless to say this is not going to be an easy process.

In this respect the Student Welfare Cell of the Department is seeking to collate whatever support the current and former students and research scholars of the department are able to offer.

Please CLICK HERE (https://forms.gle/U5zbPdgy7iyaDvvT7) to fill the form to indicate whatever kind of support you are able to extend to the students of the Department (especially those who are outstation).

We are also hoping to have a volunteer group which might more proactively help with this transition. Your willingness to be part of the same can also be indicated via this form

We thank you for help in anticipation

Title of the lecture: The Chronopolitics of the Anthropocene

Abstract: By drawing on the phenomena of anthropogenic Climate Change and the pandemic as two examples of the geologists' idea of Anthropocene, this lecture will seek to explain how the Anthropocene leads to a plurality of overlapping but conflicting temporalities for humans. This problem of time makes it difficult to imagine any globally concerted effort to deal with the Anthropocene or Climate Change as such.
