School of Management - Dr B R Ambedkar University Delhi School of Management(SoM) (erstwhile SBPPSE) was established at Dr. B.R. R.

Ambedkar University Delhi to promote research and provide professional education and training in the field of Management.. Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) is a public University, established by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi in 2008. Mandated to focus on research and teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities and guided by Dr B. Ambedkar’s vision of bridging equality

and social justice with excellence, AUD considers it to be its mission to create sustainable and effective linkages between access to and success in higher education

AUD is one among a few universities in India to cater exclusively to research and higher learning in Humanities and Social Sciences. AUD has carved a niche for itself by reinventing the perception of social science education, particularly by focussing on application based content. This is reflected both in its design of new programmes as well as their interdisciplinary engagement with other fields yielding exciting possibilities. The School of Management, SoM (erstwhile School of Business, Public Policy and Social Entrepreneurship (SBPPSE)) was set up in AUD in 2011 to impart education and promote research in the field of Business Management, Public Policy and Social Entrepreneurship. The School offers five programmes - flagship MBA Programme, MBA-IEV Programme, BBA Programme, BBA-IEV Programme and Doctoral Programme in Management. SoM is committed to its vision to provide quality education through its cutting edge programmes and to develop business professionals who address the concerns of different stakeholders including society, the economy, the environment and investors through their varied roles in the industry.

What began as a workshop became an inspiring conversation on purpose, participation, and social impact.

The Centre for Development Practice, in collaboration with Lakshyam and the School of Management, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi, organized the “Art of Giving Back: Volunteering & Social Entrepreneurship” workshop on 29 April 2026 at Kashmere Gate Campus. Attended by BBA First Year students, the session served as the orientation for the Rural Immersion and NGO Internship course offered in Summer 2026, coordinated by Dr. Richa Awasthy and Dr. Anshu Gupta.

The session encouraged students to look beyond academics and explore how volunteering, grassroots engagement, and social entrepreneurship can create meaningful change.

A sincere thank you to Ms. Rashi Anand, Founder & CEO, Lakshyam NGO, for sharing practical insights and motivating students to approach their rural immersion journey with empathy, action, and responsibility.

On April 14, 2026, MBA First Year students from the School of Management visited the Bharat Mandapam, on the occasion of the Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s 136th Birth Anniversary celebration, students were accompanied by Dr. Rashmi Anand,

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri. Om Birla, Hon’ble Speaker of the Lok Sabha, as the Chief Guest, adding significant value to the occasion.

The visit offered students a unique opportunity to be part of a national-level commemorative programme, fostering deeper reflection on Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions to social justice, equality, and constitutional governance.

Through exposure to insightful addresses and institutional participation, students enhanced their understanding of inclusive development and democratic values. The experience contributed meaningfully to their academic enrichment and civic awareness.

Such experiential learning initiatives effectively bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world socio-political contexts, shaping informed and responsible future leaders.

A guest session on “Sustainable Packaging in Production Systems: From Design to Disposal” was held on 9 April 2026 for BBA 2nd year students at the School of Management, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi.

The session was delivered by esteemed speaker Shailendra Singh, Director General, Association of Plastic Recyclers (Bharat), who covered a wide range of important topics:
• Fundamentals of packaging—functions, types, and materials
• Role of packaging within production systems
• Environmental concerns, including plastic waste and lifecycle impacts
• Introduction to sustainable packaging and the circular economy

The session also highlighted career opportunities in this evolving field, exposing students to roles across engineering, design, sustainability, supply chain, and entrepreneurship.

It was truly encouraging to witness the awareness and curiosity among students, especially their engagement with the idea of building careers aligned with environmental responsibility and innovation. Their active participation reflected a growing recognition of the relevance of sustainability beyond the classroom.

A guest lecture titled “The Power of Real-Time Data in Supply Chain and Distribution Operations” was organized by Dr. Rashmi Anand on February 10, 2026, under the ‘Professor of Practice Lecture Series’. for the BBA students.

The distinguished speaker for the session was Major Gen. Bishamber Dayal (Professor of Practice, Dr. Ambedkar University). During the lecture, he shared valuable insights on the strategic importance of real-time data in improving supply chain visibility, operational efficiency, and decision-making in distribution networks. He also discussed how organizations increasingly rely on data-driven technologies, analytics, and digital platforms to monitor inventory, coordinate logistics, and respond quickly to changing market demands.

The session proved to be highly enriching, providing students with a deeper understanding of how real-time data enables agile supply chains, enhances coordination across distribution channels, and supports effective operational planning in modern business environments. Students gained practical perspectives on the growing role of data analytics and digital integration in contemporary supply chain management.

School of Management proudly shares that four MBA second-year students have been selected to present their research papers at an International Conference hosted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with Durban University of Technology and supported by ACCA (UK), on 14 March 2026.
This platform gives MBA students a chance to step beyond the classroom and experience how real-world business challenges are tackled. It helps them sharpen their research and analytical skills, build meaningful industry connections, and grow in confidence—preparing them to lead and succeed in a rapidly evolving global business environment.

The School of Management organized an excursion to Jaipur for an ethnographic study, engaging with local communities, observing traditional crafts, and understanding the cultural and economic dynamics of the city. The visit offered valuable insights to MBA students about the everyday practices, heritage, and livelihoods, strengthening their qualitative research and observational skills. The trip was accompanied by Dr Pallavi and Dr Rakesh Kumar Gupta under the guidance of Dean (Prof) Kartik Dave.
Day 1- Ethnographic study by visiting local markets such as Bapu Bazar, Johari Bazaar, Tripolia Bazaar, Chandpole Bazaar, etc.

Day 2- The students visited Amber Fort, exploring its rich architecture and history, followed by Hawa Mahal, known for its unique façade. The visit concluded at Jal Mahal, offering a scenic view amidst the lake.

Day 3: The students also visited World Trade Park, experiencing its modern infrastructure and vibrant commercial environment.

MBA IEVD 1st Year set up stalls on 12 March 2026 in Dr B. R. Ambedkar University, Kashmere Gate Campus to gain hands-on experience in entrepreneurship. The stall gave us a great opportunity to interact with visitors, understand customer preferences, and experience real-time business challenges. The School of Management (BBA and BBA IEV – 3rd Year) organised an industrial field visit to Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd., Okhla Industrial Estate, Delhi, on 11 March 2026. The visit provided students with an opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world industry practices. They gained insights into probiotic FMCG production processes, inventory and warehouse management, logistics and distribution networks, and strategies adopted by the company to reduce the carbon footprint in operations. The interaction also highlighted practical challenges such as demand fluctuations, supply chain disruptions, and cost optimisation.
The visit was guided by the Faculty coordinators, Dr Pallavi, Dr Rakesh Kumar Gupta and Dr Rashmi Anand.
