# # TnP Malpractice: MUST READ # #
Meeting Today: 15th of September, 4:00 PM, T&P
Dear Students,
This is to bring to your kind notice the grave malpractices rampant in the Department of Training & Placement, Delhi Technological University. In the past couple of days, the unfortunate events that have unfolded during the placement process of three companies, Citicorp Services,RBS and Thorogood, and Amazon.
The Placement Coordinators (PCs) appointed to assist the companies and T&P are openly favouring their colleagues and flouting the rules to get other Coordinators placed. Also, favouring friends into sitting for companies even if they are ineligible is fairly common. Clear instances of the above have been elaborated upon below:
1. In Citicorp, a company being handled by Sushil Singh, IT PC, who was being assisted by Pronnoy Goswami, SE PC, Mr. Sushil Singh was selected by the company by unfair means.
a. During the Test round, Mr. Sushil didn’t clear the test. Even then, he was selected for the First Interview round. Surprisingly, his name was not in the list of students who had cleared the test. (Mr. Pronnoy, who was present there, had full knowledge of this)
b. During the First interview round, Mr. Sushil was not selected for the Second interview round, and his name was not on the selected shortlist. Surprisingly, Mr. Sushil had a chat with the HRs, and they again cleared him for advancing in the process despite being rejected twice.
c. During the Second interview round, Mr. Sushil didn’t feature on the final shortlisted students’ list. But yet again, we find that Mr. Sushil has been finally recruited by Citicorp.
2. We agree that Mr. Sushil is a Placement Coordinator. But does that give him the authority to conspire with his colleagues and the HRs to favour his candidature despite being not eligible or capable, and go out of the way to get placed when other students who reached the last round by their capability were rejected? Mr. Sushil is known to be a SERIAL CHEATER, clearing all tests with others' help, ALWAYS. No company has gone by when he alone has given his test, and we usuall see the same group of PCs and their friends giving tests together. On the other hand, our beloved Mr. Sushil is the strictest PC we know, known to throw out students of cmopanies on their lightest of mistakes. And here, we see a happy and jolly Mr. Sushil bagging a 13 LPA job while saying openly, whlie we work tirelssly for companies. But, being a PC, he was preferred over extremely capable students like Mr. Vesvik Dabas and Mr. Abhinav Siwach. This shows the T&P has no control over his PCs. Bloody Gundaraj! Simply getting their friends placed!
3. During the test conducted by RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland), Sopandev Tiwari, a final year student of COE Branch sat for the test despite having an active backlog. The PCs of COE branch, Mr. Sahil Teotia and Mr. Shubham Mishra knew about this but they did not prevent him from sitting and simply ignored this incident. Also, Mr. Siddharth Khajuria, MCE PC, who was handling RBS was seen talking to Mr. Tiwari before the test in the test hall and as we can guess, he allowed him to illegally sit for the test. Just because Mr. Tiwari has been former Vice President of DTUSA and is Mr. Khajuria's friend, he does not have the authority to break the rules. Instead, he should follow the regulations not conspire with our PCs to violate the Placement policy which the T&P has formulated. The Placement Policy is invoked and used against us for even our smallest mistakes. But, when our PCs and representatives openly violate the policy, such as in the case of Mr. Sushil and Mr. Tiwari, we doubt that we can trust such students to work for us. They are openly cancelling our chances of getting selected in such good companies and just using their power to get themselves and their friends placed.
4. It has also come to our knowledge that in Thorogood, multiple PCs indulged in cheating and fraudulent methods to clear the test. The test was held in 2 slots, but we came to know that a 3rd slot was also held in which only the PCs gave the test. Also, some PCs have suggested to us that five Coordinators, Mr. Raghav Sharma (EE PC), Mr. Saksham Aggarwal (EE PC), Mr. Parizat (ME PC), Mr. Prasenjit Roy (ECE PC) and Mr. Rajat (BT PC) were sitting in a separate room while the second slot test was being conducted and were solving the paper even before they sat in the third slot. It is bizarre to know that they knew questions even before they gave the test and calls for an investigation. Incidentally, Mr. Saksham Aggarwal cleared the test and went on to give the interview. We work day and night to clear these tests and our PCs, who are our leaders, use such unfair practices to gain an undue advantage and thus it leads us to believe that they are simply getting themselves placed. It has also come to our knowledge that the T&P staff and other PCs knew about this case and also have a video recording of the above mentioned 5 PCs cheating, but yet no action has been taken and the T&P has shielded their PCs. This makes us doubt the T&P’s credibility.
5. Mr. Saksham Aggarwal,EE PC is popularly known to have reached the final interviews of many companies. Interestingly, his aggregate is below 70, even after dropping subjects! And yet, he sits in any company irrespective of his aggregate. If there is such a rule that PCs can surpass any regulation in the Placement Policy, the T&P should publish it publicly. At least we'll officially know that PCs can violate any rule.
6. In Sandisk, Mr. Sahil Bansal sat for the process even though the cutoff was 74% and his aggregate was 73%, owing to him being friends with our favorite PC, Mr. Sushil. So much for equality. Also, in Citicorp, even though interviews of ECE students weer held after 8 PM, but Mr. Bansal's interview was held at 12 PM in the day. Maybe because he was great friends with our beloved Mr. Sushil.
7. Mr. Abhinav Gupta, a student of IT branch was caught cheating on his phone in Schlumburger and he was debarred for some time. But, he sat for Healthkart the next day! And he got placed, even when he was debarred. Maybe because he was friends with our beloved PC, Mr. Sushil.
8. In Amazon, we saw Mr. Nikhil Kapahi, EP,PC, getting placed in a 16 LPA job despite the fact that the person in question wasn't even shortlisted for the said company. Moreover, not just Mr. Nikhil, but there are reports that Mr. Arihant Kumar ENE PC, Mr. Shailender Kumar(ECE, To be PC), Mr. Rohit Solanki(CE, Non PC) had their CVs forwarded to the HRs as well. This is an extreme misconduct and a violation of right to equality. Everybody except these certain individuals have suffered.Great students such as Mr. Vesvik Dabas, Mr. Abhinav Siwach have been repeatedly wronged due to such instances. If CVs had to be considered again, then why were CVs of other deserving students not invited again?
9. In the Google PPT, many students were unjustly debarred. Not surprisingly, those students of EE, ECE and EEE branches who were not friends with the PC were debarred, even when they were no at fault and it was entirely a result of mismanagement of the PCs. But, those who were close to the Mr. Prasenjit (ECE PC), Mr. Saksham Aggarwal (EE PC) and Mr. Raghav Sharma (EE PC) were not debarred and these PCs showed grave partiality towards their friends. So, if you know a PC, you are safe. But if you don't, aapke saath kuch bhi ho skta hai!
10. In Airtel (08/08/15), when Mr. Divjyot, ECE PC, had his result on hold as he was caught cheating in is exams from his mobile phone, yet he sat for Airtel and got placed. Also, how was he made the PC of ECE branch while being in such a situation? According to the rules, any student having his result on hold can't even apply for the post of PC. (We'll be filing an RTI to determine how he was saved and his result released even though he was caught cheating in such a serious case. In such cases, we mostly see either semester back or a back in the paper he was caught cheating. But, he passed with flying colours! Partyyyyyyy)
Such instances are unacceptable in such a reputed university like ours. What is surprising is the fact that the faculty in T&P have no clue that such malpractices are openly going on under their nose. There were fairly more deserving students than Mr. Sushil who cleared the rounds on their capability. But they lost out because the PCs had personal access and communication with the company HRs and they could violate the rules to get him placed over other candidates. Also PCs conspiring to clear tests by openly flouting the rules and the T&P faculty simply ignoring such instances leaves a blot on the T&P’s transparency and credibility.
We have complained to the T&P and higher authorities regarding the above said malpractices. And as a result of our effort, a Complaint Session is being held tomorrow in the T&P at 4:00 PM. This will be attended by all our senior faculties and our beloved PCs, obviously. In this session, ANY STUDENTS having ANY COMPLAINT against any PC can come and present their problems directly to the Committee. When found guilty, action will be taken then and there.
If you have suffered any injustice during your placements, if you have been wronged greatly or denied the right to a fair chance, this is your opportunity to redeem yourself. This is where you can tell these PCs that they can't go on doing whatever they want. The T&P DOES NOT belong to them! It belongs to ALL OF US! They are 25, we are 1500!
And the IMAANDARTNP, the DTU vigilante, will find you there.
