The Department of Commerce was formally set up as a separate entity in 1967, has imbibed the DSE tradition of exploring new frontiers of knowledge and innovation in academics. In its history spanning over three decades, it has redefined commerce education in the country. In the year 1985-86, Department of Commerce started a one-year full-time Post-graduate Diploma in International Marketing (PGDIM
). As a response to market imperatives and the feedback received from the industry as well as the alumni prompted the Department to introduce two full time two-year Master’s program in International Business (MIB) and Master of Human Resource and Organizational Behaviour (MHROD) laying special emphasis on aspects of international business operations including global marketing and international financial management and human resource in the year 1995-96. As far as International Business is concerned, we are trading since the ancient times. We were both supplier and market during British rule. After Independence, we start expanding our trade albeit slowly. Real boom came after liberalization i.e. 1991. Now a day, globalization has not only change trading and economies but the whole way of doing business. One can say, that this course was need of the hour and a pro-active decision. In the short period of over ten years, the course has made a mark through teaching and research in all contemporary areas of International Business. This page is envisioned to bring the best minds of the International Business on a single platform. It will not only be an opportunity to share experience and challenges in this stream, but also an opportunity to communicate with top intellects. Also, it will guide the current batches to learn and interact with senior batches in order to bridge the gap between college education and new innovations in organizations.
