Born to an ex-serviceman in modest family in a remote village in Uttarakhand, Mahipal went through a lot of hardship in early school days. However, he has always stood out and made his presence felt in extra-curricular and sports activities. (1996-1999) and then Master’s degree in Tourism Administration (1999-2001) from Birla Campus, HNB Garhwal University Srinagar. He is an avid sportsperson and took active part in University sports competitions. He won a Gold medal in the University Athletics meet 2000 at HNBGU Srinagar Garhwal. He was also named Captain of the Athletics Team & Sports Secretary. He started his professional career in the year 2001 as a Hotel Management Trainee at Ashok Hotel (ITDC) New Delhi & SITA World Travels (I) Ltd. Post his stint as trainee, he worked at reputed Hotels in various capacities and subsequently moved on to the Travel industry, a charm he was always fascinated with. Driven with passion, he swiftly moved up the hierarchy and took charge of Business Head – Hotels & New Initiatives at Jetfleet, a Jetair group company India’s most well-known premium aviation services company. Mahipal has been recognised by the industry for his achievements and contribution to the travel fraternity. He is the recipient of many awards, including most coveted “Best Professional in Travel” Safari India South Asia Travel Awards 2015. He has also been selected as the Corporate Star of Mercedes India and he had been sharing platform with corporate giants in the launch of new brands. Mahipal is a visiting faculty at various Hotel & Travel Management institutes across the country and he loves sharing his diverse experience with the students. Mahipal is unanimously elected Secretary of the Alumni Association of HNB Garhwal University Srinagar (A Central University). He is also co-opted as an External Member of the University Career Counselling & Placement Cell, Institute Innovation Cell – IIC (Ministry of Education Initiative) & Foreign Students’ Office. Mahipal has strong affiliation for the people of Uttarakhand and their culture which is reflected in his selfless contribution through digital platforms which are self-funded. Mahipal is tech-savvy and a firm believer that the next revolution will be driven by digital technology and that there is a need to catch with the technology or we will be left behind in this ever changing world. He is a man on mission to increase digital footprint of Uttarakhand on global platform for socioeconomic benefit of the people of state. He is associated with digital forum RaasDigitalMart which conducts weekly webinars for increasing awareness on various issues like Culture & Folk Music, Agriculture& Environment, Higher Education, Skill Development & Employment, providing platform to artists etc. He has conducted more than 40 webinars till date which had guests from various walks of life. These guests included various Padma Shri awardees, Ministers from State Governments, Philanthropists, Environmentalists, Legendary artists, Bureaucrats, Param Vir Chakra awardee and Bollywood actress etc. During these intellectual deliberations in these webinars various topics have emerged which have been brought to the notice of relevant organisations. In addition, he has been able to secure Facebook verification tag single handily through devising the right content and approach which increases the credibility of business.
