Kalalayam school of dance & performing arts Kalalayam School of Dance and Performing Arts is a unit of “Kalalayam Cultural and Educational Society (Regd.). He belongs to a family of artists.

The primary objective of the institution is to identify, harness and develop artistic aptitude in students, motivate, inculcate and mould them in such a way that they present stage performance with utmost perfection and quality. In other words, prepare the mind of a young talented individual for what the body is to do. Kalalayam is headed by Nanda Kumar, a renowned contemporary dance artist, who p

erformed at various stages in the country and abroad. His maternal uncle is a “Kathakali” artist under Kalamandalam - a renowned government institution engaged in training and performing - in Kerala. Nanda kumar joined Sadhya (a unit of Performing arts ) in the year 2009 as a student. Trained in contemporary dance form and Mayurbhanj Chhau under Santosh Nair. Coming from a background of Funk Jazz, he moulds himself quite nicely in to the contemporary dance style. Keen interest in experimenting with technology and dance, which evoke challenge and creatively. Done various international performances like Alcamey dance festival, Enwave Theatre Harbourfront Toronto Canada. Choreographed for international dance festivals in partnership with Sampad South Asian Arts and Town Hall.
