"A closure is a function that has access to the parent scope, even after the scope has closed."

A closure is simply a function defined within another function

The power of closures is derived from the fact that the inner function remembers the environment in which it was created.

In other words, the inner function has access to the outer function’s variables and parameters.

Languages such as Java provide the ability to declare methods private, meaning that they can only be called by other methods in the same class.

JavaScript does not provide a native way of doing this, but it is possible to emulate private methods using closures.
