A team of scientists turn carbon dioxide into ethanol in a relatively simple process, and it happened almost by accident.

How has our planet changed in your lifetime? You'll be surprised definitely.

packed bed adsorption

Packed Bed Adsorption

Packed beds are used for a variety of applications, and can contain either inert packing material or reactive packing material (such as absorbents and adsorbents). In the case of M*Fs, which react reversibly with CO2, they would be employed in the form of packed bed adsorption.
The flue gas would be directed downwards into the packed bed, since an upward flow may cause the bed to fluidize (ie the packing material would begin to float, or worse, flow right out of the vessel). The inert ceramic balls help establish uniformity of flow. The adsorbent in this case would be flexible M*Fs, which would fill the vessel in the form of pellets. According to some commercial adsorbent providers, M*F pellets are produced using extrusion methods, which involves combining M*F powder with a binder (ex. alumina), and forcing the mixture through a plate containing small holes. The process is very similar to making ground beef.
It is common for the bed to be pressurized during adsorption when using PSA. However, it would be uneconomical to pressurize the entire flue gas stream. Therefore, in the case of carbon capture with flexible M*Fs, the bed would operate at atmospheric pressure while adsorbing, and operating under a vacuum while desorbing. This form of PSA is known as vacuum-swing adsorption (VSA).

Of course, when the bed is in the process of desorbing, the flue gas can no longer enter the bed. Therefore, an adsorption step will rarely only consist of one vessel by itself. A typical PSA unit will involve anywhere between 8 to 16 beds, each undergoing adsorption and desorption at different times. This type of setup allows for continuous operation of adsorption, which is intrinsically a batch process.

"Event You All !! ", an event designed to bring out your creativity and we require you to explore your organising skills.

In this competition you have to send an abstract in pdf or word format which includes the following details:

1. Name of your Event
2. Rules and Regulations of your Event
3. Your promotional strategies (how to attract maximum participants)
4. How do you attract sponsors for your event?
5. How do you decide and invite your jury panel?
6. How do you keep your audience engaged and maintain the decorum of your event?
7. Additional details can also be included.

In short you have to send us a blueprint for your event.
The winning idea will be given cash prize and a chance to organise his/her event in this semester.

Waste Water Heat Recovery Systems

Waste Water Heat Recovery Systems (WWHRS) captures the heat from used hot water and reuses it to pre-heat the incoming water supply. The systems can capture up to 50% of the heat lost through waste water providing economy savings and a significant reduction in heating bills. WWHRS can be easily installed to new builds and retro-fit properties and can be installed as either a standalone technology or be integrated as part of a whole house system. We sell WWHRS that can be attach to showers and also whole house system. We offer a complete home energy and Heating management Package. This is where we can install mechanical-ventilation-heat-recovery MVHR, your hot water all of your electrics, underfloor heating and integrate them using inbuilt management systems allowing you to control your house according to your own service requirements and functionality. We can guarantee that we choose the correct renewable technologies designed for your needs that will save you money.
