Let's analyze what Mr. Javadekar hinted .
1.NCERT Syllabus for classes 1 - 12 to be cut by 50% !
2. Extracurricular activities like Physical Education, Games and Sports, Fine Arts, Moral Education to be increased.
3. Obviously, these activities will take more time and energy of students and teachers.
4.For doing well in those activities parental care, support and participation will be more demanding than now!
5. Mr. Javadekar didn't hint anything about what would happen to the syllabi of IITJEE (Advanced & Mains ) and NEET, NDA or any other competition at 12th class level !
6. It is Most likely that IITJEE (Advanced & Mains ) and NEET will REMAIN the same, NO reduction in their syllabi !
7. The problems of students will further increase. As they will be required more in the schools to be physically present for active participations in these activities.
8. Student's dependence on COACHING INSTITUTIONS will further grow to learn the EXTRA part of the syllabus for competition.
9. IT'S a GREAT NEWS for Coaching Industry!
10. But students' troubles would get more complex!
11. Altogether, it's a BAD decision from student's point of view.
12.Extracurricular activities are Great Things, but they need different kind of promotion and attraction.
13. Instead of developping the system, enriching the educational infrastructure the policymakers are resorting to an Escapist Solution!
14.This will be devastating to our already poor Educational Strength.
Well, these problems are supposed to be there. As we know tinkering with educational framework has become a common fashion for the erstwhile governments and it's a great pity .
However, if a student identifies his MOST SUITABLE WAY of LEARNING and reschedules his time and energy, s/he can MINIMIZE troubles and Maximize learning !
