Students from the Centre for Social Work Studies joined hands with NGO Apun to distribute over 150 essential water filters to families affected by the floods in Lunporiya village, Sivasagar.

The warmth, resilience, and genuine appreciation from the community made this day deeply rewarding for every volunteer on the ground. Walking away with full hearts and a renewed commitment to show up where it matters most.

Our students had the opportunity to visit flood-affected Lunpuriya Village and participate in Apun’s relief initiative. Interacting with the villagers, listening to their experiences, and assisting in the distribution of 250 water filters provided a meaningful learning experience beyond the classroom.

Today, the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan Speech Competition was successfully held at the Rangghar Auditorium, organized by Dibrugarh University. The platform brought together passionate student voices across disciplines, serving as the first step toward the district and state-level stages.

We are thrilled to share that two of our students from the Centre for Social Work Studies took the stage in the Postgraduate category, eloquently speaking on:

"Artificial Intelligence & Deep Tech Startups in India: Building sovereign digital ecosystems."

Connecting technology, self-reliance, and societal impact with such conviction is no small feat. Seeing our scholars represent the department with depth and confidence was truly inspiring.

Congratulations to both our participants for making the Centre proud—onwards and upwards to greater milestones!

The Centre for Social Work Studies, Dibrugarh University, in collaboration with the CSWS Alumni Association, organised an engaging Alumni Interaction Session on “Scope of Social Work in the Medical Setting” on 25 September 2026.

We were delighted to welcome Ms. Dimpee Phukan (MSW 2015–17 Batch), Medical Social Worker, Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, who shared valuable insights from her professional journey and highlighted the diverse opportunities for social workers in healthcare settings.

A meaningful session that connected classroom learning with professional practice. 🌱

Hello everyone! Today, 23rd September, we celebrate the International Day of Sign Languages. This day reminds us of the importance of sign language in the lives of Deaf and hard-of-hearing people.

Sign language is not simply a way of communicating—it is a complete language that helps people express their thoughts, emotions, identity, and ideas. It plays an important role in creating equal opportunities and inclusion.
Let’s take a step towards a more inclusive society by learning and respecting sign language. Communication is for everyone, and everyone deserves to be heard and understood. Happy International Day of Sign Languages.

We had a truly meaningful experience volunteering with Team APUN in flood-affected Lunpuriya Village, Sivasagar. Together, we helped organize a nature-themed art activity and joined the community in lighting over 150 diyas. Moments like these remind us why we chose social work .
