- International students are enrolled under Indian Council for Cultural Relations – African Scholarship Scheme, Government of India. The curriculum is designed as per the latest UGC CBCS Guidelines 2016 which is tailored to the needs of the emerging media industries. Right from the first semester students can choose specialization in one fo the four areas - (1) New Media, (2) Public Affairs/Public Relations & Advertising, (3) Electronic Media and (4) Print Media. In addition, every semester students can choose one Skilled Enhancement Elective (SEE) and one Ability Enhancement Course (AEC) from a pool of courses. However, students have to study three compulsory practical oriented core papers every semester in addition to their specialization, SEE and AEC. C O L L A B O R A T I O N W I T H UNICEF
The Centre is shortly adding another brick to its quality education by introducing a new post graduate programme on "Social and Behavioural Change Communication" with special emphasis on 'health and sanitation'. The new programme is the result of an active collaboration between and Dibrugarh University. The Course is designed to "give the learners the ability to comprehend and communicate the concepts of Health, Hygiene and Sanitation for acting as competent and professional Change Agents to transform the communities towards all round development with the focus on the critical importance of Health, Hygiene and Sanitation." Every academic session students are placed in different media organizations and industries for industry experience. Experts and industry tycoons are regularly invited for workshops/seminars, special lectures, interactions and hands-on-training. This is organized under an initiative taken by the Centre called "Classroom-to-Industries" programme which designed to give a direct linkage to the students to dynamic industry and media ecosystem.
