An Ethical Hacking contest from TCS – Enterprise Security and Risk Management Unit
Introduction
The need for more effective information security practices is increasingly evident with the rise in number and complexity of the security breaches today. Ethical hacking skills help information security professionals implement the strongest possible security practices. It’s as much about finding and fixing security vulnerabilities as it is anticipating them. Through this contest, TCS ESRM is looking for students who have a flair for ethical hacking and are potential future cyber security researchers.
The Contest
An online portal will throw a set of challenges to the registered participants which they are required to crack to move on. Each challenge would evaluate their hacking skills and their competence in finding vulnerabilities. Selected participants would then move for a face to face technical interview round on cyber security.
Participation
The contest is open to the 2017 batch engineering students (BTech/MTech/BCA/MCA) from all the relevant institutes in India.
Disciplines
The contest is for students from Computer Science, IT and Circuit Branches namely Electronics and Electrical Engineering (EEE), Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation and Instrumentation. Candidates trained in Security domains as listed below would be given preference:
- Application Security
- Network Security
- Java/J2EE, PHP
- Identity and access management
- Access Control
- Information security and risk management
- Governance, Risk and Compliance
- Ethical hacking
- Any Security specific certification like Security+, CEH, ISO 27001, etc.
Winners Declaration:
Up to 10 candidates who clear the round 2 will be declared as winners of the contest and will receive Offer Letters for a job /position in TCS’ cyber security team subject to fulfilling the applicable terms and conditions that govern the process. Few Amazon Kindles will also be rewarded to the deserving candidates who perform well in round 2.
