Lamp Lighting and Graduation Ceremony ,2026 at Bethany College of Nursing*

Bethany College of Nursing Durg, Chhattisgarh successfully organized its prestigious Lamp Lighting and Graduation Ceremony on March 25 , 2026 with great enthusiasm and dignity at the college auditorium. The program marked an important milestone in the academic journey of the *XIII Batch (Lamp Lighting Ceremony)* and *XVIII Batch (Graduation Ceremony)* of nursing students.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome of distinguished guests and attendees, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing knowledge, service, and dedication to the nursing profession. Students of B.Sc. Nursing participated with pride and commitment.
The event was graced by *Rev. Dr. Cyril Anand OIC, Provincial Superior, Bethany Navjeevan province, as the *Chief Guest, and their inspiring words motivated the students to uphold the values of compassion, care, and professional excellence.
The ceremony included various segments such as invocation, welcome address, lamp lighting, oath-taking ceremony, and distribution of certificates. The oath-taking ceremony highlighted the ethical responsibilities and commitment of future nurses towards patient care and humanity.
The Director Rev Fr Babu Micheal OIC and the Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Beny Susan Chacko addressed the gathering and congratulated the students for their dedication and perseverance. Faculty members and dignitaries also extended their best wishes for the bright future of the graduates.

Eclampsia Conference Highlights Need for Timely Maternal Care*
A national conference on “Saving 2 Lives: Effective Recognition and Management of Eclampsia” was organized at Bethany College of Nursing Borsi, Durg (Chhattisgarh)bon March 24,2026 bringing together experts, faculty members, and nursing students from various institutions.
The programme commenced with an inaugural ceremony featuring a prayer song, lighting of the lamp, welcome dance, and formal addresses. The event was Presided over by Rev. Dr. Cyril Anand OIC. Chief Guest Hon’ble Shri Gajendra Yadav emphasized the critical importance of early detection and proper management of eclampsia to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality.
The academic sessions began with Dr. Jessica Joseline from Karnataka speaking on “Eclampsia: An Unpredictable Complication in High-Risk Pregnancies”, highlighting risk factors and preventive strategies, next session Sushila Bais madam tell about MgSO₄ In another session, elaborated on the long-term impact of eclampsia and the importance of post-care follow-up. A panel discussion on “Digital Health in Obstetrics: Promise or Pitfall?”, The conference also featured poster presentations, scientific paper presentations, and cultural activities, providing a platform for knowledge exchange and student participation.
The event concluded with a valedictory session, certificate distribution, and a vote of thanks, marking the successful completion of the conference. Participants appreciated the initiative as a significant step toward enhancing clinical knowledge and improving maternal health outcomes.

Bethany College of Nursing Hosts Grand Lamp Lighting & Graduation Ceremony 2025

March 1, 2025 – Bethany College of Nursing celebrated its prestigious Lamp Lighting & Graduation Ceremony with great enthusiasm at the college auditorium. The event, marking a significant milestone in the journey of nursing students, commenced at 5:00 PM with a warm welcome song by B.C.N students.

The program was inaugurated with a formal procession of lamp lighting and graduation students, followed by a mesmerizing welcome dance. Dignitaries, faculty members, students, and proud parents gathered to witness this momentous occasion. The lighting of the lamp, a sacred tradition symbolizing the beginning of a noble nursing career, was conducted by esteemed dignitaries.

Rev. Fr. Babu Michael OIC, Director, delivered the Welcome Address, while Very Rev. Dr. Cyril Anand OIC, Provincial Superior of Bethany Navajeevan Province, presented the Presidential Address. The keynote address was given by Ms. Jigi Pradeep, Chief Nursing Officer of Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurgaon, Haryana, who inspired students with her words of wisdom.

The Felicitation Ceremony was graced by Rev. Dr. John Christopher OIC, Councillor for Education, Bethany Navajeevan Province, along with Prof. Mrs. Sandhya Peyush, Vice Principal. The Annual Report was presented by Prof. Dr. Mrs. Beny Susan Chacko, Principal, highlighting the achievements and progress of the institution.

One of the most awaited moments was the Lamp Lighting Ceremony, where 1st-year nursing students of the 17th batch (2024-2025) took their first step into the profession. Following this, Prof. Dr. Mrs. Beny Susan Chacko led the Oath-Taking Ceremony, reinforcing the values and ethics of nursing.

The Graduation Ceremony honored the 12th batch of B.Sc. Nursing (2019-2023), celebrating their dedication and hard work. Students officially took their professional oath under the guidance of the principal. This was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where dignitaries on the dais awarded meritorious students for their outstanding performance.

A vibrant Cultural Event featuring performances by B.C.N students added color and joy to the evening.
The event was a memorable occasion, reflecting the commitment of Bethany College of Nursing in shaping competent and compassionate nursing professionals for the future.
