Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad, hosted a grand institutional celebration titled “Ashirwaad Ka Diya” on 17th September 2026,as part of the month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyaan (17 September – 17 October 2026), commemorating the birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and marking his 25 years of dedicated public service. Organized under the visionary guidance of Dr. Anand Mehta, President, Maharshi Dayanand Education Society (MDES), and led by Principal Dr. Meenu Dua, the event featured a monumental “Ashirwaad Ka Diya” Rangoli illuminated with 10,000 traditional earthen diyas across the college campus ground. To execute this spectacle, the academic staff and administrative teams worked in close coordination to handle floor-mapping , preparations, and lighting logistics, while the college entrance pathways, foyer, and auditorium were adorned with vibrant floral displays arranged by NSS and Sports volunteers. The occasion was graced by Hon’ble Union Cabinet Minister Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar alongside Shri Dhanesh Adlakha, MLA Badkhal, both of whom commended the institution's flawless ex*****on. Delivering the keynote address, Union Cabinet Minister Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar highlighted the Prime Minister’s steadfast commitment to Rashtraseva and emphasized his tireless efforts and visionary governance dedicated to securing a brighter, prosperous future for the nation. Overall administrative supervision was provided by Mrs. Anjali Shrotriya, IAS (ADC, Badkhal) and Shri Trilok Chand (SDM, Badkhal), with technical support from IT teams . The celebration was further enriched by an energetic cultural program featuring dance and music, uniting management, faculty, distinguished guests, and student volunteers in a memorable showcase of artistic expression and national spirit.

Webinar on “Mastering Financial Skills for Financial Awareness Among Youth”
The Department of Economics , K. L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad, in collaboration with Excellence Global Skills, Training and Development Organization, organized an online webinar on “Mastering Financial Skills for Financial Awareness Among Youth” on 17 September 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM through Zoom.
The webinar was organized with the objective of creating awareness among young people about the importance of financial literacy, financial planning, saving, investment, digital finance, and financial discipline. 129 participants registered for the webinar, reflecting significant interest among students and participants in developing financial skills.
The session was delivered by Dr. Sibaprasanna Pattnaik, who provided an informative lecture particularly focusing on investment and investment strategies. He explained the importance of developing the habit of regular saving and making informed investment decisions. He also discussed how young people can plan their finances, understand different investment avenues, assess risk and return, and work towards long-term wealth creation.
The webinar also highlighted important areas such as smart saving and investment strategies, financial planning, digital financial management and cyber security, and building financial discipline for a secure future. The interactive session helped participants understand the practical importance of financial awareness in their personal and professional lives.
The programme was conducted under the patronage of Dr. Meenu Dua, Principal, with Dr. Neeru Verma and Dr. Madhu Rathi as Conveners and Ms. Diksha Chawla and Ms. Radhika Goel as Co-Conveners. Their efforts contributed to the successful ex*****on of the webinar.

Two students from K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad, participated in the Inter-District Powerpoint Presentation Competition organized on the occasion of "World Ozone Day" on 16th September 2026 at Saraswati Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Palwal. The competition was held on the theme “Heal the Ozone Layer, Cool the Planet”.
The event aimed to provide a platform for students to showcase their knowledge and inspire action towards environmental sustainability. Under the guidance and encouragement of Dr. Beena Sethi (HOD, Science), the students nominated to represent our college were:
Nidhi Anand (B.Sc. Life Science 3rd Year)
Bhakti Mishra (B.Sc. Physical Science 1st Year)
The students were accompanied by Lab Attendant Ms. Neeru. Both participants prepared a well-researched digital PowerPoint presentation (PPT) and delivered an impactful presentation before the panel of judges.
Dr. Meenu Dua, Principal, encouraged the students to participate well in the competition. The event provided students with an enriching academic opportunity to express their ideas on ozone protection and climate action while representing our institution at the inter-district level.

National Kickboxing Championship 2026 – Silver Medal Achievement*

Ms. Madhuri Shukla, Library Assistant, kick Boxing Coach and Alumni of K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad, proudly secured the Silver Medal in the -65 kg Point Fight Event at the National Kickboxing Championship 2026, held in Indore from 8th –12th September 2026.

Her achievement is a matter of great pride for the institution and has been strengthened by the constant encouragement and support of Dr. Anand Mehta, President, MDES, and Dr. Meenu Dua, Principal, K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women.
Adding to this remarkable achievement, Ms. Madhuri Shukla has also been selected for the Asian kickboxing championship 🏆 Wishing her Good Luck for great success

K. L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad, took a significant step towards environmental sustainability by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Greenobin Recycling Private Limited on 1 September 2026 for systematic collection and recycling of waste paper generated on the college campus. Following the MoU, the college conducted a campus-wide waste paper collection drive on 15 September 2026, under which more than 1000 kg of scrap paper waste was collected and handed over to Greenobin for recycling. In exchange, the college received reams of recycled paper, which will be utilized for academic and administrative purposes, thereby promoting the principle of Reduce, Recycle and Reproduce and establishing a closed-loop system of recycling and reuse.
The initiative was successfully carried out under the able guidance and encouragement of Dr. Meenu Dua, Principal, K. L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women. Dr. Anand Mehta, President, MDES, appreciated the initiative, took keen interest in the entire process and emphasized the importance of recycling paper for conservation of natural resources. The initiative was coordinated and executed through the dedicated efforts of Ms. Renu Pandey and Dr. Pragati Chitkara. The successful recycling of 1,280 kg of paper waste reflects the college's commitment to responsible waste management, resource conservation and sustainable campus practices. The college plans to continue such waste paper collection drives on a tri-monthly basis to further strengthen its Green Campus initiatives

An Awareness Talk on Dental Health and Care was organised at K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad, on 14th September 2026 under the aegis of the Youth Red Cross Society (YRC), as part of the ongoing Oral Health Fortnight, in collaboration with the Health Department, Faridabad.
The awareness talk was delivered by Dr. Dheeraj Manchanda from B.K. Hospital, Faridabad, who sensitised the students about the importance of oral hygiene and preventive dental care. He explained proper brushing techniques, flossing, maintenance of dental hygiene, and the importance of regular dental check-ups. He also discussed harmful dietary and lifestyle habits and their possible association with oral diseases, including oral cancer, and highlighted the importance of timely preventive measures.
The programme was organised under the guidance of Dr. Meenu Dua, Principal, K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad, and was coordinated by the YRC Counsellors, Dr. Shveta Arya and Dr. Pragati Chitkara.
The session was interactive and informative and helped create awareness among students about the importance of maintaining good oral health and adopting healthy preventive practices in their daily lives.

One-Day Seminar
“The Modern Career with Ancient Science”
K. L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad, in collaboration with the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) and the Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Cell (IIEC), organized a One-Day Seminar on “The Modern Career with Ancient Science” on 15 September 2026 at the College Auditorium.
The seminar aimed to familiarize students with the relevance of ancient Indian knowledge systems in the modern era, particularly in relation to career development and emerging professional opportunities.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Principal, Dr. Meenu Dua, along with other faculty members. The lamp-lighting ceremony symbolized the beginning of the programme with the spirit of knowledge, wisdom and enlightenment.
Ms. Mamta Gulati, who graced the occasion as a guest, was warmly welcomed by Dr. Meenu Dua, Principal, with a traditional stole as a gesture of respect and hospitality.
The seminar featured Acharya Sarthak Gulati, Vedic Astrologer, Researcher, Coach and Writer, as the Special Guest and Speaker. He guided the students on career building in the field of astrology and discussed the possibilities of developing astrology as a professional career. He emphasized the importance of systematic learning, continuous skill development, effective communication and professional ethics for establishing a successful career in this field.
The speaker also encouraged students to identify their interests and strengths and explore career opportunities associated with traditional Indian knowledge while acquiring relevant modern professional skills.
The programme was conducted under the guidance and patronage of Dr. Meenu Dua, Principal. Dr. Mithlesh Agarwal, Coordinator, IKS, and Dr. Beena Sethi, Nodal Officer, IIEC, served as the Convenors, while Ms. Amita Dureja, IQAC Coordinator, contributed to the successful organization of the event. The programme was organized by IKS and IIEC.*Active involvement and commitment of *Dr. Beena Sethi, Nodal Officer, IIEC played an important role in planning and conducting the seminar smoothly.
The seminar provided students with an informative platform to understand the career potential of astrology and the contemporary relevance of Indian knowledge systems. The interaction with the speaker was engaging, informative and motivating for the students.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guests, Principal, faculty members, organizers and students for their valuable contribution to the successful conduct of the seminar.
Overall, the seminar was an enriching initiative that connected India’s traditional knowledge with modern career opportunities and encouraged students to explore new avenues for professional growth.

Follow up & Blood Sample Collection For Anaemia Screening

A follow-up screening and research activity under the study titled “Root Cause Analysis of Non-Responders to Iron Folic Acid (IFA) Treatment among Women of Reproductive Age Group in the Community” was conducted at K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad, under the aegis of the Youth Red Cross Society (YRC). The study is being conducted in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, AIIMS, New Delhi, with the objective of identifying factors responsible for inadequate response to Iron Folic Acid (IFA) supplementation and strengthening anaemia control strategies among women of reproductive age.
The entire screening and follow-up programme was conducted under the guidance of Principal, Dr. Meenu Dua. The activities were coordinated and carried out by the YRC Counsellors, Dr. Shveta Arya and Dr. Pragati Chitkara, with the support and cooperation of the college administration and participating students.
As part of the ongoing follow-up process, students whose blood samples had been collected during the earlier screening were followed up and counselled regarding their haemoglobin status, dietary practices, IFA supplementation and appropriate healthcare measures. On 12th August 2026, 54 follow-up cases were attended to, followed by 68 follow-up cases on 13th August 2026 and 16 follow-up cases on 14th August 2026. Further, 16 follow-up cases were conducted on 17th August 2026, while 3 follow-up cases were completed on 31st August 2026. On 7th September 2026, 18 students were followed up, and on 11th September 2026, 2 follow-up cases were attended to. Thus, a total of 177 follow-up cases were covered during the period.
Along with the follow-up activities, new blood samples were collected from students as part of the ongoing anaemia screening and research study. On 17th August 2026, blood samples were collected from 53 students. This was followed by the collection of 96 new blood samples on 31st August 2026 and 95 samples on 2nd September 2026. On 7th September 2026, 64 students underwent blood sample collection, while on 11th September 2026, 50 new blood samples were collected. In total, 358 new blood samples were collected during these screening activities.
During the follow-up process, students were informed about the importance of maintaining adequate haemoglobin levels and were counselled regarding balanced diet, iron-rich foods, regular IFA supplementation and other preventive measures for anaemia. Students identified with low haemoglobin levels were appropriately advised regarding management and the importance of regular compliance with IFA supplementation. The newly collected blood samples were taken up for further investigation and assessment of haemoglobin status in accordance with the objectives of the ongoing research study.
The activities conducted from 12th August to 11th September 2026 were carried out systematically and successfully, covering 177 follow-up cases and 358 new blood sample collections. The programme contributes towards the early identification and management of anaemia and supports the broader research objective of understanding the factors associated with inadequate response to IFA treatment among women of reproductive age

हिंदी दिवस के अवसर पर पत्र लेखन एवं कविता पाठ प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन

के. एल. महता दयानंद महिला महाविद्यालय, फरीदाबाद में 14 सितंबर 2026 को हिंदी दिवस के अवसर पर हिंदी विभाग द्वारा अंतःमहाविद्यालय पत्र लेखन एवं कविता पाठ प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया। कार्यक्रम महाविद्यालय की कार्यकारी प्राचार्या डॉ. मीनू दुआ के संरक्षण में आयोजित हुआ। अपने संबोधन में उन्होंने कहा कि हमें अपनी भाषा पर गर्व है और यह हमारी संस्कृति की वाहक है।
पत्र लेखन प्रतियोगिता का विषय “एक चिट्ठी धरती माँ के नाम: प्रकृति की रक्षा, मेरा संकल्प” रखा गया, जिसके माध्यम से विद्यार्थियों को प्रकृति संरक्षण,
पर्यावरण के प्रति जागरूकता तथा अपनी जिम्मेदारियों को अभिव्यक्त करने का अवसर मिला। प्रतिभागियों ने अपने विचारों को सुंदर, सुस्पष्ट एवं रचनात्मक पत्रों के माध्यम से प्रस्तुत किया।
इसके साथ ही कविता पाठ प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया, जिसमें विद्यार्थियों ने हिंदी, हरियाणवी, पंजाबी एवं उर्दू भाषा में अपनी कविताओं का प्रभावशाली पाठ किया। प्रतिभागियों ने अपनी रचनात्मकता, भावाभिव्यक्ति एवं काव्य-पाठ कौशल से कार्यक्रम को जीवंत बना दिया।
कार्यक्रम के सफल आयोजन में आईक्यूएसी कोऑर्डिनेटर श्रीमती अमिता दुरेजा, संयोजिका डॉ. मिथलेश अग्रवाल एवं डॉ. पूजा तथा सह-संयोजिका श्रीमती अंजली चंदिला एवं डॉ. प्रिया सक्सेना तथा निर्णायक मंडल में डाॅ.वीणा पाणि सिंह,डॉ मधु सिंह, डॉ राजेश कुमारी का महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा।
कविता पाठ हिंदी में प्रथम - कनीनिका त्रिपाठी, द्वितीय- दीक्षा,तृतीय - मेघा, कविता पाठ
हरियाणवी में प्रथम दीक्षा,
उर्दू में प्रथम- इशाना,द्वितीय - इल्मा रहीं।
पत्र लेखन में प्रथम अंजू तथा द्वितीय कंचन रहीं। कार्यक्रम ने हिंदी दिवस के महत्व को सार्थक करते हुए विद्यार्थियों को अपनी प्रतिभा प्रदर्शित करने का सुंदर मंच प्रदान किया।
कार्यक्रम का समापन डॉ पूजा त्यागी के धन्यवाद ज्ञापन एवं राष्ट्रगान के साथ हुआ।
