K. L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad organized the Orientation programme to mark the commencement of the academic session 2026-27 on Aug 18, 2026. The programme was held under the patronage of the Principal, Dr. Meenu Dua, and was coordinated by Dr. Rekha Goyal and Ms. Amita Dureja.
The programme aimed to introduce new students to the academic culture, institutional regulations, and various campus opportunities.
The event commenced with the customary lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Saraswati Vandana symbolizing knowledge, positivity, and a renewal of energy.
Principal, Dr. Meenu Dua extended a warm welcome to the first year students exhorting them to uphold the institution's distinguished legacy through unwavering diligence and commendable achievements.In her inspiring address, she emphasized that embarking on this new journey marks a highly significant phase in a student’s life, laying the foundation for a bright and successful future.
The proceedings were seamlessly and gracefully anchored by Dr. Shveta Arya and Dr. Annu Kalra.
During the session, Dr. Sudesh Kumari briefed the students on institutional policies, providing essential information regarding the code of conduct, anti-ragging measures, and the internal grievance redressal system. Dr. Beena Sethi provided the students with essential information regarding the National Education Policy (NEP), Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), and Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS).
The session also provided comprehensive details regarding the college’s library facilities, various Add-On Courses, Skill Development Programs, and SWAYAM Courses.
Furthermore, the students were introduced to the campus’s vibrant activities including Sports, NSS, and the Youth Red Cross (YRC), alongside the activities of various specialized cells and clubs.The students were also apprised of the facilities related to career counselling, placement avenues, and empowering initiatives such as Earn While You Learn scheme, inspiring the students to take proactive, self-reliant steps in shaping their future.The orientation also covered student support and welfare services, including scholarships, bus passes, mentor-mentee meetings, and remedial classes.
During the event, the newly admitted students demonstrated immense enthusiasm showing a keen interest in the campus environment, academic pathways, and diverse extracurricular activities.
The orientation was far more than a formal welcome; it served as an inspiring and memorable commencement to the students' collegiate journey. Guided by the theme, "A new beginning towards a bright future", the event successfully fostered confidence, enthusiasm, and optimism among the students.
The programme was concluded with the National Anthem.

🇮🇳 Independence Day Celebration 2026

K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad celebrated Independence Day on 15th August 2026 with great enthusiasm, patriotic fervour and national pride. The programme was organised jointly by the NSS, Youth Red Cross (YRC) and Deptt of Physical Education under the guidance of Principal Dr. Meenu Dua.

The celebrations commenced with the ceremonial flag hoisting, marking the most significant and solemn moment of the Independence Day celebration. The National Flag was unfurled with due honour and respect, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem, which filled the atmosphere with a profound sense of patriotism and national pride. Approximately 100 students participated enthusiastically in the ceremony and paid their respect to the nation.

Following the flag hoisting ceremony, students showcased their talent and patriotic spirit through singing, dance and poetry recitation performances. These competitions, organised as part of the Independence Week celebrations, reflected the students’ creativity, confidence and deep love for the nation.

A special Taekwondo Show was also presented by the students of Physical Education Department. The students displayed remarkable discipline, confidence, physical fitness and technical skills through an impressive performance, which was highly appreciated by the students and staff.

On the occasion, Principal Dr. Meenu Dua delivered an inspiring and motivating address. She encouraged the students to uphold the values of patriotism, unity, discipline and responsible citizenship and urged them to contribute positively towards the progress and development of the nation. She also appreciated the students for their enthusiastic participation and valuable contribution towards making the celebration successful.

Appreciation Certificates were presented to the students of the NSS Organising Committee for their creative and commendable efforts in decorating the venue and creating an attractive Selfie Point.

🏆 Prize Distribution

As part of the Independence Week celebrations, various competitions were organised to nurture patriotism, creativity and self-expression among the students. Badge Making, Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competitions were held on 11th August 2026, while Patriotic Dance, Poetry Recitation and Patriotic Singing Competitions were organised on 13th August 2026. The winners were felicitated during the Independence Day celebration.

The programme was attended by Dr. Shveta Arya from YRC; Ms. Madhu Setia and Ms. Vandana Kumari from NSS; and Ms. Sangeeta Adlakha and Ms. Kiran Khatana from the Sports Department. Their guidance and support played an important role in the successful conduct of the programme.

The celebration concluded with the distribution of sweets. The Independence Day celebration successfully instilled and strengthened the spirit of patriotism, unity, discipline, creativity and responsible citizenship among the students.

The K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad, under the banner of Vimal Gyan Sarovar (Akshraalay Club), successfully organized an interactive activity titled “Library Wali Paheli” on 12 August 2026 in the College Library on the occasion of Librarian Day. The activity was organized with the objective of promoting reading, critical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills among students.

The event was organized under the guidance of Principal Dr. Meenu Dua. Ms. Abhilasha Tyagi and Ms. Sonam served as Conveners, while Dr. Nupur Srivastava, Ms. Samina, and Ms. Madhuri Shukla served as Co-Conveners.

Based on the theme “Think • Read • Solve • Win”, the activity included engaging puzzles, riddles, and clues that encouraged students to explore the library and apply their analytical and observation skills.

The activity received an enthusiastic response from the students and created an enjoyable and intellectually stimulating learning environment. It successfully highlighted the importance of the library and librarians in promoting reading, knowledge, and lifelong learning.

The Environment and Green Audit was conducted by Prof. Virender Narula, an Environment Specialist under the aegis of IQAC, at K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad, on 3rd August 2026. The internal team of the college included Dr. Meenu Dua (Principal), Ms. Amita Dureja (IQAC Co-ordinator), and members of the Environment Management System (EMS) club . The efforts of the college were appreciated for its Green Initiatives, Rain water Harvesting System and efficient Energy Conservation practices with use of solar panels. Dr. Pragati Chitkara and Ms. Heena Vohra met Hon'ble MP Mr. Krishan Pal Gurjar on 01 August 2026, to discuss the transportation issues faced by students of K.L. Mehta Dayanand College for Women. They highlighted the need to extend the student bus pass validity from six months to one year, increase the frequency of Pink Buses, revise bus timings according to the college schedule, and accept alternative address proofs for bus pass issuance. The Hon'ble MP listened to all the concerns in detail and assured the delegation that the matter would be taken up with the concerned Haryana Roadways authorities for an early and positive resolution in the interest of the students.
