DAV Centenary College's BAJMC Alumni Share Insights and Inspiration with Current Students at 'Guftagu with Alumni’
The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at DAV Centenary College organized an alumni meet and career counseling session titled “Guftagu with Alumni.” Former students, now working across various media organizations in the country or running their own ventures, shared career insights with current students.
Among the distinguished alumni were: University topper and gold medalist, now Director of Sanchar News, Mansi Arora; Content Writer at DIPR Haryana, Anshul Garg; Chief Sub-Editor at Dainik Jagran, Gurpreet Cheema; Journalist at NBT, Varsha Bhadana; Sub-Editor at Awaaz – The Voice, Onika Maheshwari; Co-founder of Celestine Production, Mohammad Asad; Motion Graphics Artist and Video Editor, Sachin Kumar Gupta; Intern-Executive at UK-based Next and Tin Man, Sagar Panchal; Senior Content Writer at Suffescom Solutions, Anuradhika Sharma; Author and Copywriter at Design Pond, Yashika Dubey; Manager at Metro Group of Hospitals, Puneet Sharma; Digital Marketing Manager and Event Planner, Dheeraj Dubey; PRO at Dr. Surya Prakash Arogya Kendra, Kunal Bhati; and Video Editor at Capture A Trip, Rahul Parashar.
The alumni reminisced about their college days while guiding students on topics such as opportunities in the media industry, challenges in career choices, adapting to new technologies and the growing role of AI, balancing professional and personal life, pursuing high goals with ethical values, and fulfilling social responsibilities. Sagar Panchal joined the session online from the United Kingdom.The interactive format allowed alumni to answer students’ career-related queries and assure them of future support in overcoming difficulties in the media field.
The program was held under the guidance of Acting Principal Dr. Narendra Kumar. The credit for organizing Guftagu goes to Head of the Department Rachna Kasana, who not only envisioned this platform but also actively coordinated with alumni across diverse fields to ensure maximum benefit for students. Her initiative has been widely appreciated for bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world media experiences.
PRO Virendra Singh ,Assistant Professors Kritika and Himani Jangra served as Organising Secretary .Technical arrangements were managed by Assistant Professor Pramod Kumar. BAJMC first-year student Kirti Mittal anchored the program. Around 50 students from the department actively participated in the event.
