𝐉𝐂 𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝟖𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫
J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Kumar hoisted the Tricolour and took the salute at an impressive march-past presented by the Security Officials, NCC Cadets and NSS volunteers. Earlier, he paid floral tributes to the martyrs at the War Heroes Gallery.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Rajive Kumar extended his greetings to the University community and recalled the sacrifices of the great freedom fighters. He urged students and youth to draw inspiration from their courage, discipline and spirit of service and contribute to nation-building through knowledge, innovation, research and social responsibility.
Highlighting the University's recent achievements, Prof. Kumar said that J.C. Bose University is steadily advancing as a leading State University through academic expansion, research, innovation and technology-driven initiatives. He highlighted the introduction of new academic programmes and the establishment of Centres of Excellence and advanced laboratories in Electric Vehicle Technology, Anti-Drone Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Mechatronics.
He also highlighted the implementation of the Digital Evaluation System, through which the University declared the May 2026 examination results in less than a month, becoming the first State Government University in Haryana to implement digital evaluation of answer sheets. The launch of the Central Research Facility online booking portal, recommendation of ₹5 crore for the NIDHI i-TBI initiative were also cited as important steps towards strengthening the University's research ecosystem. Prof. Kumar further highlighted the expansion of the Bharti Airtel Foundation Scholarship Programme, supporting 100 meritorious students annually from 2026-27, and apprised the gathering of ongoing efforts for infrastructure expansion, including the proposed second campus.
He called upon faculty, staff and students to work collectively with dedication and innovation to take the University to newer heights of academic and research excellence.
The celebrations featured patriotic songs, poems, yoga and dance performances by students. In accordance with the updated national protocol and Government guidelines, the National Song, Vande Mataram, was rendered before the National Anthem, adding a special patriotic dimension to the celebrations. The program also concluded with the singing of the national song, followed by the national anthem.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of Deans, Heads of Departments, officers, faculty members, staff, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers and students. The programme was organized under the overall supervision of Dean Students Welfare Prof. Pradeep Kumar and the DSW team. The celebrations concluded with the distribution of sweets among the University community.
