Every journey has a beginning and an end and so after 3 years, it was today the Department of English said goodbye to the campus life of Batch 2021 with wet eyes. It was Rukhsat-2024.

The faculty members and staffs shared their views on the occasion and conveyed best wishes for the bright future of the passing out students.

The Department of English and Biotechnology in a combined effort organized a one-day seminar on Environmental issues and sustainable development which are two intertwined concepts that have gained significant attention in recent decades. It was inaugurated by the Dean of Health and Allied Science Dr. Jyotirmaya Sahoo along with the faculty members of the Department of English and Biotechnology. The resource persons were Dr. Pratima Srivastava of the Department of Biotechnology and Dr. Biswaranjan Pradhan of IIT Bhubaneswar. The convenors Dr. Rajkumari Ghosh and Dr. Santosh Kumar Singh briefed the audience regarding the need to conserve natural resources. They said that by adopting sustainable practices and policies, societies can strive towards a more resilient and prosperous future for both people and the planet. The event coordinator Dr. Manoj K Pathak in his introductory address said that sustainable development is a holistic approach that seeks to meet the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The students participated in the poster presentation session and the best two presenters were awarded. The Director-cum-Registrar Dr. Amit Kumar Shrivastav congratulated the organizers and participants for this initiative to deliberate on eco-crisis and its ways out.

The Department of English conducted an educational trip to Bhuiyasinan and Pagda villages of Patamda, East Singhbhum to expose students to real-life situations, which can help them develop critical thinking skills and make informed decisions and to learn about cultures, lifestyles, and perspectives by visiting new places and interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.

The students distributed copies, books, pencils and other study materials among the students of Pagda Upgraded School, due to which enthusiasm was seen among the students.
