Gujarat Council on Science & Technology (GUJCOST) Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST) established in 1986 under Education Department, Gujarat State. to achieve the aforesaid objectives.

Gujarat Council on Science & Technology is functioning as an autonomous society from Date 1-2-2000 under department of Science & Technology To promote popularization of science and the spread of scientific temper, attitude among the people of the State. To identify areas in which science and technology can be utilized for the achievement of the sociology-economic objectives of the State and in particular, its objectives of tackling of the problems of backwardness, unemployment and poverty and of addressing itself to the problems of the rural area, and under privileged sections of society such as Scheduled Castes, scheduled Tribes, Landless Labor, Artisans Small/Marginal farmers and women. To devise policy guidelines for academic and field policies for the purpose of strengthening the planning and programming amenities for the development of science and technology. To encourage R&D activities in various sectors by monitoring the development and by feeding available information. To identify priority areas of Science and Technology needed for long term development of the state. To establish and assist in the development of necessary infrastructure (institutions, organizations etc.) To identify thrust areas in which available scientific and Technological knowledge can be utilized. To assist in organizing training courses, workshops, seminars, conference, discussions, dissertations consultancy services and exhibitions.

🎭 નાટ્યકલા દ્વારા વિજ્ઞાનનો સંદેશ – સર્જનાત્મકતાની સાથે વૈજ્ઞાનિક અભિગમ!
ગુજરાત સરકારના વિજ્ઞાન અને પ્રૌદ્યોગિકી વિભાગ અંતર્ગત કાર્યરત ગુજરાત વિજ્ઞાન અને પ્રૌદ્યોગિકી પરિષદ (GUJCOST) દ્વારા તા. ૧૪ અને ૧૫ ઑક્ટોબર, ૨૦૨૬ના રોજ હેમુ ગઢવી હોલ, રાજકોટ ખાતે “વિજ્ઞાન અને સમાજ (Science & Society)” વિષય પર રાજ્ય કક્ષાના વિજ્ઞાન નાટ્ય મહોત્સવનું સફળ આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું.
આ મહોત્સવે વિદ્યાર્થીઓને નાટ્યકલા અને સર્જનાત્મક અભિવ્યક્તિ દ્વારા વૈજ્ઞાનિક વિચારો, આધુનિક ટેકનોલોજી અને સામાજિક પડકારો વિશે જનજાગૃતિ ફેલાવવા માટે સશક્ત મંચ પૂરું પાડ્યું હતું.

🎭 Inauguration of the State-Level Science Drama Festival 2026–27
GUJCOST inaugurates the State-Level Science Drama Festival at Hemu Gadhvi Hall, Rajkot, under the theme “Science & Society.”
🏆 31 district-winning teams will showcase scientific creativity through drama:
📅 14 Oct: 18 teams
📅 15 Oct: 15 teams
🌟 The festival will be judged by eminent personalities, including Gaurav Puraskar awardees Shri Nayan Bhatt, Shri Akhtar Saiyad, Shri Raju Yagnik, Shri Kapildev Shukla and Shri Arvind Raval.
Students will present dramas on AI, Electric Vehicles, Living in Space and Cleaning the Oceans.

📢 Press Briefing Held in Rajkot for State-Level Science Drama Festival 2026–27
GUJCOST successfully conducted a press briefing on 13 October 2026 at Hotel Fern, Rajkot, ahead of the State-Level Science Drama Festival scheduled for 14–15 October at Hemu Gadhvi Hall, Rajkot.
🎭 326 plays were presented during district-level competitions across Gujarat, with 31 district-winning teams qualifying for the state-level competition.
Under the theme “Science & Society,” students will showcase their creativity and scientific understanding through dramas on Artificial Intelligence, Electric Vehicles, Interstellar Habitats and Ocean Regeneration.
The initiative aims to nurture scientific temper and promote science communication through theatre.
