The first batch of 5-Day Competency Development Programme, "Lead with Care: Nursing Management & Soft Skills," jointly organized by SHSRC-G and the Centre for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QUALIPS), IIPHG concluded today. The programme brought together 36 nursing leaders from Government Hospitals across Gujarat from 17 -21 August 2026.

Through case-based, experiential sessions on nursing administration and management, quality improvement, leadership, team building, communication, and self-care, participants strengthened competencies for compassionate nursing leadership. Movie-based reflections explored values, commitment, and leadership in practice, while a participant-led cultural evening showcased creativity, teamwork, leadership, and communication. A hospital field visit provided practical exposure to quality-improvement initiatives led by nursing teams.

The programme was graced by the presence of respected Dr. Hitesh Brahmbhatt (Additional Director, Medical Services), Dr. Manish Ramavat (CEO, GMERS Medical College & Hospital), Dr. A.M Kadri (Executive Director, SHSRC-G); Dr. Anish Sinha (Registrar, IIPHG); Dr. Ajay Mulani (Deputy Director, Nursing). Dr. Vasuki Venugopal, (OSD, SHSRCG) who shared inspiring words to encourage participants to continue leading with purpose and excellence.

At the valedictory ceremony, Prof. (Dr.) Deepak Saxena (Director, IIPHG) presented the participants with certificate of completion. Participants left the programme with six-month action plan to lead quality improvemwnt initiative at their respective Hospital.

The Centre for Quality Improvement & Patient Safety (QUALIPS) at IIPHG aspire to build nursing leaders for strenthening healthcare system and quality of care.

The celebration began with flag hoisting and the pledge-taking ceremony, followed by the National Anthem. The programme continued with inspiring performances, including a prayer dance, group songs, patriotic poetry and dances by our students.

The occasion also witnessed the felicitation of students and support staff for their extraordinary contributions, along with the recognition of the winners of Sports Week. 🏆

Innovators’ Workshop on Health Technology Assessment | AIIMS Jodhpur

The HTA Resource Hub, IIPHG, in collaboration with Resource Centre AIIMS Jodhpur, DHR, Government of India, and IIT Jodhpur, participated in an Innovators’ Workshop on Health Technology Assessment held at Jodhpur on 08 August 2026.

With participation from 70+ innovators, students, researchers, and health-technology stakeholders, the workshop focused on health-need-driven innovation, PICO-based HTA questions, evidence requirements, economic evaluation, and Early HTA.

A key takeaway was that HTA should not be viewed only as an assessment conducted when a technology is ready for adoption. Evidence-informed thinking can begin as early as TRL 2, helping innovators understand health-system needs, identify evidence gaps, reduce uncertainty, and build stronger pathways towards adoption and scale-up.

The workshop reinforced the value of collaboration among innovators, clinicians, engineers, researchers, health economists, and policymakers in developing technologies that are safe, effective, affordable, and responsive to real-world health-system priorities.

🌍 Welcoming Global Public Health Leaders to IIPHG! 🇮🇳

The Centre for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QUALIPS), Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG), successfully inaugurated the ITEC Training Programme on Public Health Policy & Health System Management on 3rd August 2026.

We were privileged to welcome a delegation of public health professionals from Lao PDR, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Fiji, and Sierra Leone for a two-week executive programme aimed at strengthening leadership, policy, and health systems management through collaborative learning and knowledge exchange.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries:
