Tseten Namgyal Bhutia and Aditya Chettri, students of the MBBS-22 batch pursuing medical studies at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS), have secured third place in the prestigious State-Level Inter-College Quiz Competition on Disaster Risk Reduction – 2025. The event was held at Chintan Bhawan, Gangtok, on September 16, 2025.

The team successfully cleared the preliminary and district-level rounds held at Rhenock, demonstrating exceptional awareness and understanding of disaster preparedness. The competition was organized by the Sikkim State Disaster Management Authority (SSDMA) under the Land Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Sikkim.

In recognition of their achievement, the students were felicitated by the Honourable Chief Minister of Sikkim during the State Disaster Risk Reduction Day celebrations on September 18, 2025.

This accomplishment reflects the commitment of SMIMS students to community engagement and disaster resilience initiatives.
