The Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Liberal Arts has established the
Entrepreneurial Development Cell (EDC) with the primary aim of encouraging students to
pursue entrepreneurial ventures in the future.
Although it had been operating informally since 2017, the EDC was officially inaugurated on
2 December 2019 within the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Liberal Arts.
Let’s Talk is a platform organized under the EDC, through which entrepreneurs from the local
community and neighbouring regions are invited each year to share their experiences and
inspire students.
In addition, B.Com. students undertake a business project during their third and fourth
semesters. This initiative enables them to conceptualise and manage a small-scale business,
thereby gaining valuable practical insights into entrepreneurship.
As part of the project, students are introduced to a variety of idea-generation techniques,
including
➢ Brainstorming,
➢ Mind mapping,
➢ The SCAMPER technique,
➢ Blue-sky thinking,
➢ First-principles thinking,
➢ Questioning assumptions,
➢ Storyboarding,
➢ Analogy-based thinking,
➢ Market research,
➢ Role-playing.

The activities involved the students’ business projects, in which they developed proposals for
a range of business ideas. They also carried out a pilot survey by creating sample products to
test the market. Finally, the students submitted their proposals and presented them. Some
students are continuing to explore and refine their ideas further.
