🌍 *Two-Day World Ozone Day Celebration at Khalsa College Garhdiwala* 🌱

Under the able guidance of Worthy Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, the P.G. Department of Chemistry, under the banner of *C.V. Raman Society of Chemical Sciences*, celebrated *World Ozone Day on 15th & 16th September*.

The entire event was *coordinated by Dr. Pankaj Sharma, HOD Chemistry*.

*Day 1 (15th Sept) – Pre-Campaign Training:*
*Dr. Pankaj Sharma* imparted special training to the students on how to interact with villagers – how to explain in simple language what the ozone layer is, how it protects life on Earth, how it is getting depleted, and how we can save it.

*Day 2 (16th Sept) – Awareness Campaign & Expert Talk:*
On the second day, our trained student volunteers actively participated in the awareness campaign. They visited villages and interacted with local people to spread awareness about ozone protection. On the same day, *Dr. Rabia Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry*, also delivered an expert lecture on ozone-related issues, CFCs and eco-friendly alternatives.

Under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, the NCC Unit organized various activities under the Nai Roshni Scheme to promote awareness about women empowerment and equality.

A special Awareness Lecture on women empowerment was delivered by CTO Daljit Kaur, highlighting the importance of education, equal opportunities, self-confidence, leadership, and self-reliance among women.

An Essay Writing Competition and Group Discussion on the topic “What Can We Do to Promote Women Empowerment in Our Society?” were also organized. Students actively participated and expressed their views on women’s rights, education, equality, and their role in society.

The activities aimed to inspire students to become responsible and active contributors towards building an equal, aware, and empowered society.

Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh,The Ramanujan Mathematical Society organized a Special Lecture on Communication Skills in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). The programme was organized with the objective of developing effective communication skills among students and making them aware of the importance of communication in their academic, professional and personal lives.

The special lecture was delivered by Ms. Gurpreet Kaur, who explained the meaning, importance and various aspects of effective communication in a very informative and interactive manner. She highlighted that communication plays a vital role in the overall personality development of an individual and is essential for achieving success in every field of life.
She explained requirements for good communication also she told students about the barriers for communication skills. Ms. Daljit Kaur and students of B.C.A and B.Sc were present on the event

ਹਿੰਦੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਸੰਦਲ ਨੇ "ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀਕੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੰਦੀ: ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ" ਵਿਸ਼ੇ 'ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ 14 ਸਤੰਬਰ, 1949 ਨੂੰ, ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਨੇ ਹਿੰਦੀ (ਦੇਵਨਾਗਰੀ ਲਿਪੀ ਵਿੱਚ) ਨੂੰ ਸੰਘ ਦੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਅਪਣਾਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਦਿਨ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਈ ਵਿਭਿੰਨਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਣ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇਹ ਬੋਲੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ, ਇੰਟਰਨੈੱਟ, ਸਿਨੇਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਟੀਫੀਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਇੰਟੈਲੀਜੈਂਸ (ਏਆਈ) ਦੇ ਯੁੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ, ਹਿੰਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੇਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਉੱਭਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਦਿਵਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਪਣਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਿੰਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੋਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਦੇ ਅਨੰਤ ਮੌਕੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਨਾਲ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਲਾਈਬ੍ਰੇਰੀਅਨ ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੋਏ।

NSS Programme Officers Attend Five-Day Teacher Training Workshop at McLeod Ganj

The NSS Programme Officers of Khalsa College Garhdiwala, Ms. Seema Kumari and Ms. Gurpreet Kaur, attended a five-day Teacher Training Workshop and Adventure Camp organized at the Regional Mountaineering Centre, McLeod Ganj, Dharamshala.
The workshop aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of NSS Programme Officers and equipping them with new ideas and practical experiences to make NSS activities more effective and meaningful for volunteers. Various activities and special guest lectures were conducted during the five-day camp by experts from different fields.
Trekking was also an important part of the adventure camp, providing the participants with practical experience of adventure activities, teamwork, discipline, leadership and facing challenges with confidence.
The entire five-day camp was organized and conducted under the guidance of Dr. Dilver Singh, Assistant Director, Youth Services. His valuable guidance and efforts contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the training programme.
After returning to the college, the NSS Programme Officers shared their experiences and learning from the workshop with the NSS volunteers.
Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh congratulated the NSS Programme Officers for participating in the training programme and appreciated their efforts to share their experiences with the students. He emphasized that such training programmes play an important role in developing leadership qualities, confidence, discipline, teamwork and a sense of social responsibility among NSS volunteers.
