Gauhati University Mising Students' Union - gumsu Gauhati University Mising Students' Union(GUMSU) is a student organization of Gauhati University established in 2006-07 but regularly run from 2009-10.

The first official President of GUMSU was Mg. Bhupen Kr. Taid and General Secretary was Mg. Sidananda Pegu. GUMSU is a form of 5 Mising student subgroup of Gauhati University. GUMSU is Integration with Mising students of P.Hd schoolers, P.G, B.Tech,Law and IDOL. The Aim & Objective of the union shall be upliftment of the mising student in respect of culture, Language, Literature, Political, Social

The GUMSU constitution is formed at the year of 2014 with the monitoring of GUMSU President Mg. Pranjal Pegu(2014-15) and Gen. Secretary Mm. Dipti Taid(2014-15). The Jurisdiction of the union shall be limited within Gauhati University or Integration of Gauhati University and other Institute/college. The Union has its own EMBLEM.The emblem of the union shall be
i) The emblem shall be round. ii) In round “GAUHATI UNIVERSITY MISING STUDENTS’ UNION” and “TAKAM MISING PORIN OPE’: I’RROI” shall be written. iii) Under round the mising “Tongali” (soal) signify that we belong to mising community. iv) Under round the Book Signify that we are educating people. v) Under round the Sun Signify that we are upgrading our community by our knowledge. GUMSU has a yearly published mouthpiece cm magazine called as ‘Be’dang’. Initially GUMSU is able to publish it's first edition in the years so per(2011-12) and it's second edition (2014-15) after that its been published yearly since then.

Gauhati University Mising Students’ Union (GUMSU) successfully celebrated “KANGKÍN KÉBANG 2025.”
We feel truly honored and fortunate to have had Mg Lila Taye as our Chief Guest , an esteemed alumnus of Gauhati University, a successful entrepreneur, and a Central Executive Member of TMPK.

We were equally delighted to receive inspiring words from Dr. Abhijit Payeng, TMPK GCC President Mg Cedric Lagachu, ADC, Kamrup District Mg Casio Karan Pegu Sir, and Prominent Litterateur Mg Sitaram Doley.

It was also a great pleasure to share an engaging informal session with the popular Mising actor Baba Pegu, whose presence added immense charm to the event.

The day concluded with a vibrant cultural evening, made truly memorable by the soulful voice of Poba Gourav, leaving everyone captivated and filled with joy.

On the occasion of "Kangkin Kébang 2025", the Gauhati University Mising Students' Union (GUMSU) proudly published its annual magazine "Bédang 2025", which was inaugurated by prominent litterateur Mg. Sitaram Doley. He was accompanied by Dr. Abhijit Payeng, Teaching Associate at Gauhati University; Mg. Lila Taye, founding editor of Bédang and Central Executive Member of TMPK; Mg. Pankaj Mili, Research Scholar at Gauhati University; along with Bédang Nébing Mm. Karishma Doley, Jyotshnali Morang, and the Gumsu members.

We believe Bédang will serve as a bridge of communication between the society and the student community, fostering dialogue, creativity, and cultural connection.
