Wall Magazine ‘Abhijnanam’ Inaugurated at Bagadhar Brahma Kishan College, Jalah
Jalah, August 28, 2026: The Department of Sanskrit, Bagadhar Brahma Kishan College, Jalah, inaugurated its wall magazine *Abhijnanam (अभिज्ञानम्)* today with an aim to encourage students to engage in creative and literary activities through Sanskrit.
The wall magazine was formally inaugurated by the Principal of the College, Dr. Keshab Basumatary. Addressing the students on the occasion, the Principal encouraged them to develop their creative potential by writing articles, poems, essays and other literary compositions in Sanskrit. He emphasised the importance of nurturing students’ interest in the language and creating opportunities for them to express their thoughts through Sanskrit.
The programme also marked an important academic initiative ahead of Sanskrit Day (संस्कृत-दिवसः). As part of the celebration, the Department is organising a Śloka Competition among students to promote interest in Sanskrit literature, memorisation and oral expression.
The wall magazine ‘Abhijnanam’ is envisaged as a creative platform for students to showcase their literary talents and explore Sanskrit as a living language of knowledge, culture, philosophy and creative expression.
The initiative reflects the Department’s continued commitment to promoting Sanskrit among the younger generation and making the language relevant to contemporary academic and cultural life.
