माननीय प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी जी,
मैं पूजा वासुदेव, 21 साल के भारतीय छात्र कार्तिक वासुदेव की माँ हूं, जिसकी बेरहमी से कनाडा के टोरंटो में हत्या कर दी गई। मेरे मासूम बेटे की गलती बस इतनी थी कि उसने विदेश में बेहतर शिक्षा का सपना देखा। आपकी और विदेश मंत्री एस.जयशंकर की तरह उसने भी पूरी दुनिया में भारत का नाम रौशन करना चाहा।
लेकिन कार्तिक ऐसा कर पाता इससे पहले ही उसकी आंखें बंद कर दी गईं और सारे सपने छीन लिए।
7 अप्रैल 2022 के दिन केवल कार्तिक की हत्या नहीं हुई बल्कि अपने कलेजे के टुकड़े के एक साथ मां के मन ने भी दम तोड़ दिया। मुझे नहीं समझ आ रहा उन पत्रकारों से क्या कहूं जो पूछते हैं कि मेरे कितने बच्चे हैं? मैं अब तक इस बात पर विश्वास ही नहीं कर पा रही कि मेरा बच्चा कार्तिक अब इस दुनिया में नहीं रहा। मेरा बेटा कार्तिक मेरा सबकुछ था, मेरी पूरी दुनिया उसके ही आसपास घूमती थी। हादसे के एक घंटे पहले ही मेरी कार्तिक से फोन पर बात हुई थी, ये जानने के लिए कि उसने ठीक से खाना खाया या नहीं। मुझे नहीं पता था कि ये उसका आखिरी खाना होगा। मैं कुछ नहीं समझ पा रही हूं कि अब क्या करूं?…… .jaishankar

Dear Modi Ji,
I am Pooja Vasudev - mother of 21-year-old Indian student Kartik Vasudev – who was mercilessly killed in Toronto, Canada. The only mistake of my innocent child was that he dreamt big of studying in a foreign country. Just like you and our foreign minister S Jayshankar, he wanted to tell the India story to the world.
BUT HE IS NOW GONE AND WITH HIM ALL HIS DREAMS.
I would also want to tell you that it was not just Kartik, who was killed on April 7th, 2022. A part of me also died. I don’t know what to tell the reporters who ask me how many kids do I have? I don’t know the answer as I still can’t fathom the fact that my baby is no more. He was everything to me. My entire day routine was all about checking on Kartik. Just an hour before he was killed, I had called him to make sure he ate proper food. Little did I know that it would be his last meal. I have no clue what I will do now.
I also need your help in telling my diabetic husband (Jitesh Vasudev) that his baby boy is not coming back. He had put his entire life savings and mortgaged our home so that our baby Kartik could fulfil his dreams. Like every India parent, he wanted his boy to not worry about Money.
Now, we don’t even know how to save our home and pay back our loan without Kartik.
My younger child Parth hasn’t stopped crying. He is very scared, not talking to anyone. He has lost his hopes and trust in humanity. Can you please help me reassure his faith in the society? Can you please tell him that leaders like you are still there and will make sure that justice is served to his Big B? Can you tell my baby Parth to not lose hope? PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE. Every Indian child today needs your assurance that the world is a safe place…… .jaishankar

We have started this fundraiser in the memory of our beloved Kartik Vasudev who was shot dead in the Toronto shooting outside the subway station on Apr 7th at around 5 pm. The funds will be used to transport his mortal remains and legal proceedings in Canada.

This fundraiser will be to support the family who no just have lost their beloved son but spent all their savings and took loans to give their child a better tomorrow. The funds will also be used for legal proceedings in Canada. We want Justice and we'll fight for it.
