Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College (AKGEC), Ghaziabad is affiliated to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. The college was established in 1998 and offers B.Tech Courses in nine disciplines of Engineering. The college also offers postgraduate courses in Computer Applications (MCA) and M.Tech in Automation and Robotics, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Power & Energy Systems and VLSI Design. A five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was inaugurated at Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College (AKGEC), Ghaziabad, on Monday, jointly organized with NITTTR, Chandigarh and IQAC, AKGEC, and being held from September 21 to 25, 2026, on the theme "Transforming Instructional Delivery through Outcome-Based Education". The programme began with a prayer to Goddess Saraswati, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Neelesh Kumar Gupta, Head of Department and IQAC Coordinator, AKGEC. Dr. Hemant Ahuja, Director, AKGEC, highlighted the importance of integrating teaching, examination, feedback and assessment, while Dr. A. B. Gupta, Professor and Head, Department of Education and Educational Management, NITTTR, Chandigarh, delivered an insightful session on OBE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Conditions of Learning, Events of Instruction, Teaching-Learning and Evaluation, and Developing Practical Skills. The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, through the IEEE Communication Society Student Branch Chapter, successfully organized “Signal Quest 2026 – Engineering Intelligence Challenge” on September 17, 2026. The event offered students a hands-on platform to explore Electronics, Embedded Systems, Sensors and IoT through technical quizzes, expert sessions, masterclasses, component identification, circuit design and Wokwi-based simulation. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Hemant Ahuja, Director, AKGEC, and Dr. Neelesh Kumar Gupta, Prof. & HoD, ECE, and coordinated by Dr. Naresh Kumar and Dr. Uma Sharma, with an expert session on “Sensors, IoTs, Embedded Systems and Industry Trends” delivered by Dr. Dushyant Singh Chauhan. The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, AKGEC, Ghaziabad, successfully organized a one-day workshop on “Quantum Spikes & AI: Engineering the Electric Brain” on 11 September 2026, featuring Dr. Chitaranjan Mahapatra, Associate Professor (Research), SRM Institute of Science & Technology. The session explored emerging intersections of Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Neuroscience and Neuromorphic Computing, along with AI/ML applications in healthcare and interdisciplinary research opportunities. Strengthening the Startup Ecosystem! At the STPI Electropreneur Summit 2026, held at IIIT-Delhi on 7 September 2026, the MoU between AIC STPINEXT INITIATIVES and AKGEC Skills Foundation – Technology Business Incubator (ASF-TBI) was formally exchanged, strengthening collaboration in startup incubation, mentorship, technology development, and ecosystem support. Under this initiative, 6 ASF-TBI startups received pre-incubation grants of ₹1 lakh each through the Open Challenge Programme. AKGEC Skills Foundation successfully hosted a 3-day industry-focused training programme on “PLC Programming and Industrial Networking” from 8–10 September 2026, jointly organized by Ghaziabad Management Association (GMA) and Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA). The programme brought together 13 industry professionals from leading organizations, including Goodluck India, Micromatic Grinding Technologies, Tata Steel, Shri Ram Pistons & Rings, and Godfrey Phillips India.
