NSS Bureau organised the National Sports Day 2026 youth connect program (Khel ki bat PM ki Sath) on 27.08.2026. This program was graced by Honourable MP Dr Pradeep K Panigrahi, from Brahmapur, as chief guest. Registrar Chinmeeye Kanhar, Director of student welfare, Prof. Ganesh Sethi, and Secretary of the Sports Council, Bu Prof Dhruba Charan Panda, and Joint Director Dr Babuji Samal joined the programme. Sports icon Arjun awardee K Ravi Kumar and National badminton player Abinash Muni joined as representative of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for Yuva Samabad program. The NSS Bureau also celebrated the Raksha Bandhan program on the occasion with all volunteers and participants.

The NSS PG Departments Units I, II, and III of Berhampur University organised an anti-drug awareness programme, "GenZ Against Drug Addiction," on 2 August 2026 under the national campaign "Nasha Mukta Yuva for Viksit Bharat."

The programme featured the live address of the Hon'ble Prime Minister and an interactive session with youth and NSS volunteers from across the country. Over 300 volunteers from various colleges and universities participated.

The event was graced by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Asima Sahu, Chairman Prof. Sukant Kumar Tripathy, Director of Students' Welfare Prof. Ganesh Sethi, Rajyogini Sanghmitra Behn, and former NSS DPO Prof. Satish K. Nayak. The programme concluded with a pledge to promote a drug-free society.

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, BU, organized a workshop on "Drone Journalism and Aerial Storytelling" on 24th July 2026 at 11:00 AM. Mr. Rashmi Ranjan Padhy was the resource person for the session. He spoke about the use of drones in news gathering, aerial cinematography, and the legal and ethical guidelines for drone journalism. The workshop included practical field demonstrations with students. The session highlighted how aerial storytelling is shaping the future of journalism.
