🇮🇳
We all know we gained our Independence on 15th August, 1947. But we weren't truly free. It took more than 2 years to gain that true freedom, the freedom to elect our own leaders. Yes, we became an Independent Republic only on 26th Jan, 1950.
On the occasion of 70th Republic Day, Student Council wishes you a very Happy and Patriotic Republic Day. Let us all pledge on this day to stay patriotic and follow the ideals on which the nation was built not only for a day, but for the entire year. And let us all pledge to protect our country's true Independence by remembering the famous poem by the Noble Prize Winner Rabindranath Tagore Ji.
"Where the mind is without fear
and the head is held high,
where knowledge is free.
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls.
Where words come out from the depth of truth,
where tireless striving stretches its arms toward perfection.
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost it's way
into the dreary desert sand of dead habit.
Where the mind is led forward by thee
into ever widening thought and action.
In to that heaven of freedom, my father,
LET MY COUNTRY AWAKE!"
